These girls are as professional as it gets. You hear stories about adult performers walking off stage because their monitors or something aren't right, throwing a tantrum and screwing their fans. Not BM, they will do whatever it takes to give their fans the best show possible.
Another guy I love, Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters (and Nirvana) not too long ago fell off stage and broke his leg during a concert. They took him backstage and stabilized his leg for transport to the hospital. Instead he had them carry him back onstage and prop him up in a chair where he finished the show. He's another "rock star" who is humble and down to earth and has great respect for his fans.
Riff Raff Hi there, could you please tell me what happened exactly? I see Moa is in so much pain but I can't tell when/how she got injured. Sorry for bothering you but yours is one of the more recent comments.
Aw poor Moa. I’ve watched the full show a few times and hadn’t noticed that Moa had hurt herself before. But knowing the choreography of that song, it’s clear that she stumbles sideways at the beginning of the run, and then during the “attack”, she falls on her arse. Being the performer she is, she makes it look like part of the show. But it’s clear she’s in pain. Just look at her face. All the colour is suddenly gone from her cheeks. The smile is gone and sometimes you can even see tears. Poor Moa. But seriously- what a trooper she is. She just carries on and Yui steadies her on the stairs at the end. Well done, BM.
@@Swlabr61 nope, she's meant to lean backwards at that part but not fall. You can see Yui nod to her when they face each other afterwards to ask if she's ok, and Moa nod back yes
@@ep6808 I've watched multiple live performances of this song on here from multiple angles and seen it once live and shes always "fallen" at least once at different parts of the "fight" section. Its never consistent since sometimes shes falls at the very beginning, sometimes more than once, and the odd time she doesn't fall at all.
@@ThePsychosocialite she fake 'falls' onto her knees or backwards into a crouch, but not flat on her back like in this video. At that part of the choreo she always leans far back as if dodging a blow, but this time her leg gave out and she fell.
@@ep6808 Again, there have been multiple performances were she falls on her arse and either rolls onto her back before getting up or gets straight back up from a seated position. And its not constistent as to when she falls, its not always at the same part, possibly due to momentum of her movements. I'm not saying that her being injured didn't cause her to fall in this case, just that she has more than once fallen to the floor either during that part of the fight sequence or at another section of it.
I’ve been in music production for over 30 years and I cannot stress strongly enough my high regard for this act. This is as good as it gets. Absolute professionalism .
bukifuriku Year later I still think about it. The section of the crowd at that portion gasped and Yui just lay there for a few seconds. It was so surreal.
+Daymon Foster - Well, this video is about the nasty spill Moa had on stage just after that, but you're right about Yui. After the house lights went down, the crowd started chanting "Yui-chan!" to cheer her on. Fortunately, one of the things you learn as a dancer is how to fall.
Soufriere Yeah, I know, but Moa is a professional. I'm still trying to figure out how she hurt her leg falling forward. I would think she would of hurt her arm catching herself. Or maybe banging her knee real hard. I wonder if instead her leg cramped up? There was an especially loud guy on the other side of the stage was yelling "Yui-chan" with a lot of emotion!
They are definitely troopers! I still get choked up when Moa is out there screaming "Hedoban Hedoban" to the crowd all alone and probably doesn't even know it. I don't think they knew what happened until after Headbangers was done. Even when Moa returned to center stage, Su was looking around to see if Yui was coming up the stairs or what...Probably a very scary time for all of them and yet they came back the next night and had IMO a FLAWLESS performance...They are just amazing.
There were times in my amateur MMA fighter years that I didnt even want to come to the gym just because I didnt feel very good. And I thought I was a tough guy. But obviously this little girl is tougher than me. Deepest respect to you, miss Kikuchi
That's because at 0:14 it looked like Moa pulled the left hamstring muscle in the back of her left leg when she was running, and that brought on knee shock. Knee shock is unfortunately a common symptom of pulling a leg muscle. It's when the brain sends a response (by way of nervous pulses) to the leg to tell it to wake back up. That's why Moa was having balance issues and couldn't put any pressure on her left leg, her brain was telling it to wake back up. And then during the running attack sequence, Moa stumbled on the bad leg and she fell off the stage. Truly terrifying.
I remember seeing a recent interview when asked "What would you tell your younger self knowing what you know now?" and she said: "I would tell myself to make sure to stretch well before every show." Seems like she pulled something here during the performance which was probly quite painful, enough that she seems to be crying. Real professional to finish the performance though, really tough young lady. I hope she got a lot of praise and a nice head pat from everyone after.
Not sure about that, but she definitely fell off the stage during headbanger. You stop hearing Yui's voice in the chant and at the end moa was dancing alone.
Yup. I freaked out when there were only two girls left. "Where the hell's Yui", I exclaimed to myself! "Is she hurt? Crap!" Then Moa's face and movements were off. "What the hell's going on here"? Thank god it was nothing serious! The girls are warriors! Kitsune up! Forward unto the Metal Resistance!!!................................................................................... Oh, yeah. Mega props to Dave Grohl. He's a trooper, too!
Honestly it was a little bit hard to notice all of this at first, props to Moa for performing so well all the same. Injury on stage is so difficult to deal with (especially with dance because it requires so much physical effort from pretty much every part of your body), but she took it like an absolute champ, and at such a young age too. Plus the subtle communication between the three of them... they really were professionals from the very start. I have so much respect and admiration for these girls. Rock on, Babymetal. 🤘🏻👏🏻
@@linkdorf376 I didn’t notice that part but it sounds like it would be a very good idea. When I first saw that stage I had the impression of little girls playing in a factory. If OSHA came in they would’ve been all kinds of citations. That stage was very unsafe and having them perform under flashing lights with smoke and other things going on was definitely putting them at risk. I’m very glad Yui and Moa were not seriously injured. It’s a testimony to their physical endurance and professionalism that they were able to complete the set. 🎵🍅🎤❤️🎶
i just watch this concert, this is after Yui's fall , on the begining of this song Su have a big smile on her face seeing Yui ready to Run ! Yui wave back to Su and Moa like she is saying " i am Ok " but Moa is crying to see Yui back to perform the last song ( tears of happiness ) , and she looks happy seeing her again ! i watch this part of the concert frame by frame , SO PROFESSIONAL THIS GIRLS !
Just wow, she is truly dedicated, she is tearing up all the way and even after she falls over and pulls her muscle she just keeps going, truly powerful
It’s no wonder the behemoths of metal and hard rock were the first ones to embrace these girls and welcome them to the genre, while so-called purists clutched their pearls about Babymetal “not being metal”. These girls are as metal as metal can be. What worries me here is that this is after Yui had fallen from a platform of about two or three metres high, and she’s showing no hint of pain… Either she was seriously medicated (which could have made her injuries worse), or she’s made of titanium. Alas, we came to know that’s not the case. My little Yui… I just hope she’s OK.
Bieber butt-blundering Bufoo.................... Aw! Why am I wasting my breath on him? Shame on me for allowing my energies to be directed that way! Blegh!........................................... As for Baymetal? Sparkly rain sunshine gently falls from the sky and spreads it's yummy goodness upon all. What more can be said that these girls have not demonstrated already? Oh, I'm sure the rest of us can come up with some winsome words of happy revelations of Babymetal's demeanor, professionalism, respect, and just all around bubbly cuteness! I'm not fawning too much over the girls, am I?
I knew metal bands respected them for their hard work, but I didn't know how METAL the girls really are... She's really hurt, dammit, and there she went on! The girls honor everything metal, from "Heart of Steel" to "I Can". And I thought I couldn't love them more than I already did. Well, I can't love them anymore without my heart bursting from the overload. I just respect them even more (and I respected them before, mind you. Just not as much as they deserved).
I just say WOW..!!!To all Baby Metal fans,,,I think the true believers in this band are truly blessed,,,we together are experiencing something very special...& wow I am glad to be alive to witness this most beautiful phenomenon....love Baby Metal for all eternity...❤️❤️❤️Robby Aus.
Huh. This shows that even Kitsune's descendants aren't invincible at times. Suzuka slipped multiple times, Yui fell off during Headbanger!, and then Moa fell during this. But somehow, someway, they found the strength to carry on with the concert anyway. That is what I call true professionalism on BABYMETAL's behalf. When you go all out to give the fans what they want to see, that is the epitome of professionalism. (I wasted 5 minutes of my life typing this, so please don't hate.)
Probably was a pulled muscle from running and falling, not uncommon. While initially painful and very uncomfortable, it heals on its own. The knee shock at 0:14 is a typical symptom of a pulled muscle in the leg, cause your leg falls asleep and your brain sends out pulses to try "wake it up". This would also explain the lack of balance she has and how she is unable to hold her weight on her left leg. Some rest for a couple of days and some ice on the muscle and she is back to good again. Which she is, considering when this happend. Muscles heal really fast. Anyone know if they came out with an official announcement about this or anything?
+Shadow Of The Day You got it wrong, that's Yui who fell off of the stage during Headbanger. Then, Moa hurt her leg on I, D, Z. This performance must have been pretty tough for them, but they had another show the following day and everything went well, so I guess Moa wasn't too hurt. :)
Who? I don't recall anything like that, but I may have missed it; this show is by far the most chaotic that I know, though, because they are very professional and reliable overall. :D
Mango Kush Moa? Maybe I'm wrong but I could have sworn I read somewhere that she fell on her face during that running section in Catch Me If You Can I think. I definitely agree though, very professional. "The show must go on."
I've done some digging on Google and fansites, but I can seem to find anything about it; there's only articles about Yui falling off of the stage during 'Headbanger!!' and Moa falling during 'I, D, Z'. I'm watching my bluray of Red Night/Black Night right now to check, but if it ever comes back to your mind, let me know. That'd be nice of you!
You know what this is? Its living by The Great words of Freddie "Show must go on ". Didnt think it be this clearly embodied by our girls but here we have it
Poor Moa. It looks like she's about to cry a couple of times. I always wondered how Moa and Yui make it through each show without throwing their backs out or pulling a muscle.
One thing to be noticed is how aware of the whole situation is SU that keeps an eye on MOA all the time, to check how she was doing. And for MOA, jumping in that condition must have been really, really painful.
Wow, I love Moa and sad she got hurt. But she powered through that by goodness, I love that; She didn't give up or even really mess up. She is awesome and this was still a legendary performance by all of them and Moa even though she was hurt. :)
Moa really did shine in that show. The whole band is awesome, but she did the dancing/backvocal part of Headbanger alone when Yui fell and powered through IDZ like a boss with an injury.
If i know anything about these girls is they would rather die than let each other or their fans down during a performance their love for the one is strong and powerful and can't be denied ..i often run out of words to describe what i see in them.. badazz monster metal ladies..
I always like how Moametal has that big smile in almost every performance when the camera is focused on her. But after knowing that she got injured and still continued to perform with a bit of tears but most importantly still smiling. Damn. RESPECT \m/_
Moa :-( ...such a pro...she was clearly in alottt of pain....but she pushed through it, and finished the performance, a very physically difficult performance. How can anyone not love and respect that girl. She put the fans and the show above herself. If thats not the heart of metal, then nothing is.
I'm not an expert on human physiology but these kids are obviously exhausted. It's not right to expect anyone to perform at peak endurance as frequently as these shows are scheduled. The kids may be willing, but letting it happen is abuse. It's already difficult just to navigate the onslaught of rapid mental and physical changes at that age. Mix that with "headbanging" in near darkness with flashing lights and loud music - it's all disorienting, then running around on a platform with no restraints - of course someone was going to get hurt. It was amazing nobody was left paralyzed or dead.
im 7 years late to the party ... moa done her ankle in and carried on like a cham.... matt davis had a sore throat and postponed a tour. she is a tough cookie :)
Seems like that night was cursed...Su slipped several times, Yui fell off the stage during Headbanger, then Moa falls. You could see that Moa was hurt, but kept on keepin' on.
I couldn't recognized Moa's trouble at first, but after seeing it twice I realized how painful it must have been... Poor Moa! However, this accident shows how professional the three girls are!
When she is kneeing near the end you can see her calf jump. That's a calf cramp. They are extremely painful. I've had them in the middle of the night and screamed so loud I woke up the neighbors in the next apartment.
There was also another incident in 2014, Yui-metal falls of the stage while performing Headbanger, in the part where both Yui & Moa cheering for fans, as they about to run, there's a part where Yui's was neverheard & fell down & only Moa-metal can be heard.
How cute, notice how at the very end of the video Yui and Moa are holding hands as they head off stage. I'm curious to know if they ever used that stage setup again after these concerts, being that two of them injured themselves on it.
A bit late in the reply, but yes. They've used this and similar stages multiple times. What reportedly happened was the floor had been polished either the day of or the day before and was still slippery by the time Babymetal came on. It was better by the time they performed the next day, so there were no incidents.
This was a tough night for them, in Headbanger Yui fell off the stage mid song and the returns for this song. Moa then falls at the beginning of this song and gets hurt. They are tough as both powered on.
Clearly a physically demanding performance but she recovers quickly, amazingly! You can't find these acts anywhere else in Metal. In any event, maybe in the future they can adjust the choreography a little.
@@crazy1tad1pole1 I'm pretty sure Headbanger was either before that or on the other night. The end thing Su does in this vid is the WE ARE BABY METAL call and response they do at the end of shows, so that was their last song I think.
Moa Metal injures herself and fights through the pain and tears and finshes the song with the most and fastest choreography...yet Justin Bieber cant handle a bottle thrown at him? High praise for her for her show must go on mentality. Mark of a true performer
I was watching a video a few days back -- the one where BM performed with Dragonforce at Golden Gods in 2015. They got bottled during that show (I think it was actually DF who the drunk lady threw stuff at), and bottles nearly hit Yui twice. No reaction whatsoever from BM. Such troopers.
The thing no-one talks about is the very next night Moa showed up seemingly fine and performed at full throttle. How was this possible? I think her knee / leg was shot full of Novocaine / Opioids or something similarly sinister.
I dont know what you people are talking about. Ive watched this dvd a million times and i never seen moa fall and hurt herself once. Yui did fall off the stage during Headbanger and was gone for the second half of the song and rejoined for the next song.
+digiclowded there's a fancam video showing she slipped during a song...they didn't include that part in the official dvd... instagram.com/p/lBf1vQv_Ph/ www.reddit.com/r/BABYMETAL/comments/2wh7r2/professional_moa_the_red_night_injury/
anybody have a link for the entire song from that video? It kills me seeing her hurt. In several instances I can see the tears streaming down her face, and it really bothers me seeing her stumble so often during that song while she was dancing, but I want to see how it happened.
