@@EsauSantamariaM she's cleaner, louder, and can sustain better. And she doesn't even speak English lol. That show spoke better of her ability than his. Plus he's like 60 something I think lol
@@aliengranpa Yes Indeed !!! There is no mystery why grandparents and grandchildren get along so fine ... Both are cool ... Grandchildren appreciates grandpappy's achievements ...
Who wouldn't... we are humble mortals not worthy, she proves that she is... Is natural specially those girls approach the genre with the respect to the elders...
Im always so impressed by BabyMetals guitarists i swear they can perfectly imitate any guitar player and play any song with technical perfection! Gotta be real prodigies
haha. wikipedia says that for a good while they had a band that would just mime their performance with a backing track. sounds like they got a real band these days, though. this performance is just old.
@@dragonsheen3049they retired the backing tracks in 2014 lol. The guys in facepaint/masks are actual musicians from various bands. Facepaint guys are the ACTUAL band of the group and they are insane in the live videos.
This has always been one of my very favorite performances of Babymetal. First of all obviously Moa and Yui aren't really playing guitar but it gives the vibe of when you let your little sibling use the controller that isn't actually plugged in while you play a video game just so they can have fun and be included and its just adorable. They are having so much fun and I love how the guitarist joined their sides for the solos. Second it's such a rarity to see Sue just free on stage with no choreography to follow. She's also clearly having a ton of fun! Overall this whole performance just screamed fun.
Rob is just so metal. He's about the music and the spirit. He's always been supporting other bands, I love him for doing this, and they are all obviously having such a blast.
“The girl??” SuMetal is the Queen of metal! Long Live the Queen! … (you may not believe this but I actually wrote that before I realized how ironic … oh never mind).
@@michaelbartolomeo2926 Who voted her the Queen? I didn't. She is a good singer, but to declare her the Queen is a quite a stretch. There are several female metal singers better than her.
He's Rob Halford, he's like 64 years old and has been the lead singer of one of the greatest heavy metal band off all time, he's a meta godl. Do you think he gives a fuck ? He just does what he want
They have the ability to collaborate with whoever they want because they know how to make two things that shouldn't go together work. My dream is that they would collaborate with Abbath, as that would take the opposite ends of the metal genre and make them one.
They are more metal than we can ever hope to be! Just because they're not fat middle aged white dudes singing about Vikings, and Satan doesn't mean they're not metal.
Rob Halford is a LEGEND. EDIT : Seriously, The Metal God as we mortals know as Rob must feel like a proud grandfather. Never in a million years would he have imagined a stage like this. To quote THE quote of quotes by Chuck D referring to Nirvana, it was a changing of the guard.
The most overlooked thing in the comment section: Babymetal's band is legit and badass. It's honestly, at least in my opinion, what makes Babymetal legit. Su's vocals are good overall, but damn their band is beast.
BABYMETAL seems rock solid on every song I hear from them. And I'm pretty late to their party. They blew me away on many of their performances. And the BMTH collaboration, "Kingslayer" was some killer vocals from them too. That one kicked my ass.
As a singer and dancer I can tell you that Su's vocal power and range is amazing. And the fact that she can do it with that choreography is even more impressive. But yes to everything you said abkut the Kami band too
This clip proves 2 things. Rob Halford is an extrordinary singer. Babymetal are a fantastic band and the girls miming with the guitars sound better than most of my students! It also proves that I can't count!
@John Sutton Rob Halford is one of the few metal artists out there to really be able to Define what it is to be metal. He and Bruce Dickinson AR two of the Elder Statesman of metal. Neither of them have any fucks to give and we'll tell you exactly what they think about anything and everything without fear of repercussions. Either of their endorsement is enough for me. Get off your high horse and just enjoy the music.
55 yo. Old-school metalhead here........ìf Rob thinks it's ok, it's fine with me as well. You don't have to like BM. But they have fun and they bring fun to a lot of other people....so what.
This is the coolest thing BM has ever done. Unscripted Su is a total dork onstage, but it looks like she's actually having fun instead of just performing the choreography. That little dance she does with Rob is adorable. The Kami band are obviously into it and having a great time. I watched this like 10 times at least.
All I see is a group of musicians jamming out and having fun. And that makes me happy. I love these kinds of live crossovers. You can see that everyone on stage is so relaxed. They're just here to have fun and they are not afraid that theirs performance won't be the best. Also look at Su at 2:51. I feel so happy for her. This must be a dream of her's coming true right in this moment!
I saw Priest in 2022. Dude is unstoppable. He pushed himself so hard, didn't miss a beat or sing off key at all, despite literally looking like he was going to die at some points.
I am a big fan of Judas priest and i just can't understand the hate. This is metal, holarious , good sounding and a strange way cute . I fucking love it.
@@metalerowilliamxxx You are the least metal person on this comment thread, because there's nothing less metal than elitism. There's nothing less metal than gatekeeping. There's nothing less metal than pedantically arguing and whining in the comments section of a youtube video about how only the metal you like is "true metal". Commenting over and over again the same banal complaint on a metal video you don't like is the most pathetically un-metal thing you can do. Metal listens to no authority. Metal is the most "fuck the rules, do what you feel like" genre there is. You can mix it with anything. Anyone can be a part of it. Anyone can love it. Anyone can find a style or sub-genre that's perfect for them and rock-out. And if you don't understand that you're not metal and you never were.
Been a Priest fan for a majority of my life, This is a great thing. Get kids-Teens interested in Metal/Rock. Get them interested in play instruments. Thanks Baby Metal, I may not get it 100% But your cool in my book.
Don't get your hopes up too high. My favorite genre has been 21st century "metal" like Nightwish for a decade, and I still had to Google Rob Halford to find out what band he was in. (I feel like Nightwish is like pro wrestling. As a fan you love it, then you realize it's all fake, then you maybe start to love it again anyway.)
Give it a little more time, only second album. Great open mind and comment. It may not get better then this campy act they are putting out, but we may see a revolution. I'm a big fan of the campy act, by the way. Their big sister EDM version, Perfume, (same choreographer and manager) is the campiest simple act ever, but I have downloaded extreme silly happiness and joy from everything about them !!! Mostly, their friendship and asian respect of humans. We need that !!!!
I bet no current pop star will be brave enough to perform with rob. The audiences will riot and rip apart that pop star. But, these 3 girls, who bear all the signature of japanese pop star, can perform on metal festival. I must admit japan product is really out of the box and wonderful. Oh yeah, the band is also rock !!!
you're wrong, maybe you dont know japanese music, but they have more skilled singer than any other country because they sing more than any other country......karaoke is a national sport, sing is in the culture for everybody since childhood to after work, there's more than 20.000voice actors who sing 2 to 6 songs for more than 300animes series per years... they have more than 1000 idol band who all know sing and dance...... so in fact japan have probably some of the best singer of the world, and many of them could sing metal and could be brave enough... For me, idol sucks by their lack of soul, not by their lack of skill..quite all japan music is produced since begininng while USA and european music start from a talent, or friend band. and to have see idol concert, i think metal and idol are very similar in public energy, everybody move dance and react, but of course its very different in music and meaning.
+Rendy Andrian anyone from modern pop music performing with Rob would basically commit a "suicide"...... I mean can you imagine Bieber's vocals next to Rob's :D:D that'd be silly.....
Su was completely in her element for this! I have never seen her this happy performing before and those screams? She simply needed Rob to act as a catalyst to bring her inner metal beast to life!
Umm... babymetal.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/6c239ac77cead0489acbfaf11c998fe3.jpg Now you can cry. They toured together. They share the same fandom (except for the fake metalheads like you). btw Slayers last album is excellent and Its a shame they didn't get the recognition they deserve. So, at least, put your money where your mouth is. :)
I just went to Monterrey Metalfest yesterday, i loved so much the Judas Priest show, was amazing, thanks for everything Rob Halford Monterrey loves you!
I turn 37 this November and while punk is my favorite genre, I've also loved metal for damn near each of those 37 years. Babymetal isn't doing a damn thing to ruin metal, they are simply expanding it. If you can't see that, of if you're simply "too metal" to acknowledge it.... Then well that's on you.
How you can ruin metal by producing something "metal"like? To change something either develop or ruin you need to have enough influence on core trend within genre.. Babymetal has 0 influence, but just have its own audience and is a crippled child among core sub-genres of metal (it is not something bad actually).. Harsh reaction (as for myself as well) just comes from canonical understanding of metal and original Judas Priest sound.. that J-**** thing just pisses me off and it is subjective opinion, nothing to do with objective conclusion on the metal-like art Babymatal deliver
Totally agree!! I enjoy this style they have created! Visually and musically it`s so enjoyable. The girls are just amazing. Their fitness level is just insane to do what they do on stage.
the thing about the Japanese is they know how to show honor to something great and they played this song fucking PERFECT! They showed this song great honor by playing it exactly how it was recorded. excellent job for real.
I love this! Everyone in Babymetal was so stoked. What a privilege to jam with Rob Halford, the singer in the band that influenced the future of metal music even more than Black Sabbath. BTW I recently learned that Su-Metal is a fan of Perfume, the GOAT of J-Pop. If you haven't heard them, check out their videos. Their music is intense, and it's metal in its own way.
I mean they did come from the idol scene, which is historically just consists of singing and choreographed dance. Not to mention she's supposed to be the 'serious' one
I Fucking love babymetal I too considered myself a purist at some point but yeah Babymetal taught me that Metal doesn't have to be tough looking people to be metal these girls and specially Kami-Band just kills it everywhere they go I just sure hope I get to see them live someday :)
That is a Metal evolution into the 22nd Century... There are Awesome Metal music no matter if it's evil, good, ugly or cute, Metal music must live on forever!!! BabyMetal is an evolution to a different form of Metal that must be supported by all Metal Heads! What you want your kids to have only idols like Justin Beiber or Taylor Swift god awful cutesy music or do you prefer your kids listening to BabyMetal because it cater to their day and age??!!! Yes, Yes I do!!! I support these Metal Girls and their band and now my 3 year old Grand Daughter will listen to them for now on. This old retired Metal Head must continue his new family Generation on loving Metal Rock music and BabyMetal will help them love it more and appreciate the old Metal Music.... That's MHO take it or leave it....
Why do you thing that everyone hates Babymetal just because they're not tough looking? I hate them, because the band is created by producers, and none of band members do anything to create their own music. And Kami Band are not even the members of Babymetal, just a "supporting band". I hate Babymetal, because they're the first artificial band in metal.
In an interview he said something to the effect of "metal is about passion, being authentic, going hard and not giving a fuck when people don't like it. Babymetal is that in a nutshell, part of the new generation advancing what metal's all about."
They didn't know anything about metal before they were recruited, why should they care now? I don't even care. I had to Google Rob Halford to find out what band he was in.
Don't be so harsh, people. Singing Halford tunes ain't an easy task, let along while he is one stage with you. And when it comes to bitchin' difficult songs to sing, "Painkiller" takes the cake. So kudos to Suzuka for enjoying this and having a great time on stage. And remember: Babymetal is about making metal more popular. It might seem odd to us metalheads, but for most people Babymetal is easier to find and choose than Judas Priest. And that's how they will end up discovering Priest, Dragonforce, Maiden, Megadeth etc. What do you prefer? Metal bands going soft to please the radio and the closed-minded parents, or bands like Babymetal introducing people to metal?
for me, babymetal is a reminder that music as a whole is supposed to be fun. I've seen babymetal live 3 times so far and had fun at every single show. they're energetic, they can sing and dance live, and their backing band are the real deal. if metal legends like Halford, Rob Zombie and Dave Mustaine can give them the thumbs up then that should be good enough for anyone.
@@Frip36 mikio fujioka was a guitarist for BABYMETAL (he’d been with them since their formation in 2013) and unfortunately died in 2018 from injuries he sustained from a fall. he was only 36. it’s widely speculated among fans of BABYMETAL that their 2018 song ‘Starlight’ is meant to be a tribute to him.
Nowadays, people are more concerned with taking photos on their cell phones during a heavy metal concert. After all, it's more important than mosh pits.🤘🤘
quando babymetal vir pro Brasil, ai vcs vão ver o que é subir na fama!! brasileiro adora coisa nova, fofa e claro rock tbm!!! meu deus o que ia ter canal de tv brigando pra elas tocarem
i love the fact that Rob decided to wear the Babymetal colors. The girls don´t look very likely to be "Breaking the law" yet in the near future but still this was a lot of fun anyway
@@o8poq8o And that's how they made the big bucks! If breaking boundaries and doing something fresh and new is considered "breaking the law", then no wonder the current western music industry is boring as fuck. They combined something fresh and new and people liked it! Even non-metal fans back in the Glastonbery 2019 music festival liked it. Fuck you!
today I learned there was a live concert where Rob Halford of Judas Priest dressed up like Dr. Eggman and performed Painkiller and Breaking the Law with Babymetal.
I live in a remote, BFE location. Only discovered Babymetal , like less than a month ago. A Metalhead since 86' but went more Punk as Metal changed after the Black Album (Metallica). Babymetal is fresh, new approach but honestly nobody can claim that anything the US has put out in the last decade or so can match their energy, gleeful approach to metal. Anything that can put a smile on the face of an Old Warhorse (not in a dirty way either) can't be bad.
