I was there. Had never heard of BABYMETAL. Took about 30 seconds to fall head over heels for them. They have never disappointed me since. This was an amazing day.

Good one, thanks! This performance is a very important piece in BABYMETAL's history. Yes, this was their first performance in the UK (actually their first "big" stage outside Japan) and that was a massive festival with 50.000+ metalheads most of which never heard about BABYMETAL before. Also as you probably know, UK crowds tend to be quite hostile if the bands don't match their expectations (see Daphne And Celeste at Reading festival). There was also some buzz online for booing them off the stage. The organizers moved them to the main stage several weeks before thanks to the online impact of "Gimme Chocolate" music video going viral. They actually were worried that no one would show up (they couldn't see the crowd from their position at backstage). The result? Walking off the stage while the audience was chanting for more. About the song itself, "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" means "Bullying, no, absolutely" (or "No more bullying forever" like they translated it) and it was their second song, according to the live performances (premiered libe in July 2011), although they released it way later (January 2013). Probably because it's straight power metal and they didn't want to get pigeonholed in one genre. 🤘🦊

It is an anti-bullying song, and a very important performance in their history. IDZ is performed pretty rarely these days, often as the tour final encore. Looking forward to more! 🦊

ありがとう!🦊 It is a miracle of the Sonisphere. The audience(60,000+), seeing BABYMETAL for the first time, was just watching for the first song, but by this song (the 5th song), they were in this state. 🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵

As you were commenting about being nervous for your RU-vid audience. Try to imagine what it was like for these three quite young (16,14 & 14 at the time I believe) stepping in front of that massive crowd for the first time. Not having any idea what to expect but having heard the talk about the possible bad reactions. Then to just turn in a fire performance and win the crowd over. This was their last song as you've no doubt guessed. I don't know if I could walk across that stage to pick up a box much less perform a metal concert. Whew, those were some courageous young pros there. Nice job with stepping in to critique your people.

Awesome, great reaction! This song was the closer for their 5-song set, and I believe Iron Maiden was the headliner that day (maybe Metallica, forgot which day it was). There were definitely some Babymetal fans there, but they were in the minority at that time. The crowd chanted: "We want more!" at the end. This song has a strong and deep meaning. If you haven't looked up the lyrics already, here's a quick paraphrase: In a room deep in my heart, I cried alone I wasn't the only one hurt, but also those who hurt me, and the ones who stood by It's okay, let the pain out, I'll protect you Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Bullying, No, Never) Your pronounciation was dead on by the way, kudos. The fans all call it IDZ for short. 🤘🦊

@@Bruce_Reacts Actually, the song was meant to be hopeful, while a statement against bullying. Perhaps my paraphrase wasn't quite on point haha. Look up the lyrics when you get a chance!

Good stuff ... and yes after Su-metal's "WE ARE ..... BABYMETAL!" the crowd were calling "We want More!" and "One more song!" at the end. 25 minutes earlier the crowd were looking very puzzled wondering who the 3 little Japanese girls in red tutus were and why were they on the main stage at one of the biggest metal festivals. Sonisphere was at Knebworth near Stevenage. Good job with your pronunciation, you did loads better than most other reactors who don't already speak Japanese ... we normally just tell them to call it IDZ. Summer 2014 - Su was 16, Yui and Moa had only just had their 15th birthdays (Moa's was the day before). This was their first time in the UK, their first major event outside of Japan, the biggest crowd they had ever played to (over 50k). They spoke hardly a word of English, they were singing in Japanese and there had been threats made on social media by some metal gatekeepers of them being bottled off the stage. They went out there and in just 5 songs they'd won the crowd over ... they had the biggest mosh pits of the weekend and their merch outsold all the other bands playing that weekend (including big hitters like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Anthrax, Slayer and more).

It was long time ago. They use other costumes now. In this case the east kami band played, unusual. Can see it on Bo, the guy who plays the six string bass and the smiling Gitarre player who died some years ago.

Pronunciation was good - well done! BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer. BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs (along with suggested versions). The first sixteen are from what I've come to call "The Golden Age of BABYMETAL" or simply "The Yui Era": Doki Doki Morning (official music video) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cirhQ8iLdbw.htmlsi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic Iine! If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . . Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest: "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" ru-vid.com/group/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014) ru-vid.com/group/PLdBAj9hZ91wBwsBfjsKH9zWxA5YOOUkSI Both concerts are, in a word, incredible. Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!) Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!) KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

You mentioned the girls spins choreo etc. One thing to note. The girls all wear "in- ears". And that being the case they have their own tracks piped in. Which is different than the bands. And I would guess their tracks have choreo "marks" etc in them.
