In my opinion this is the best bach/busoni performance that I can find: in terms of movement and gravitas. The last 3 bars could be a bit more spacious though. Lovely playing. All the best.

I would not go so far to say it exceeds the organ. It brings a new and different texture and coloration and adds percussiveness, but it will not exceed what a concert-caliber organist playing a multiple-manual 100+ rank pipe organ would do. However, this is absolutely stunning. I love it. You just can't compare a pipe organ and piano; it does neither instrument justice to do so. They are both phenomenal. The maestro performs this piece with such clarity, brilliant dynamics and color, and the articulation and phrasing is simply genius. He has the once-in-a-generation talent that can play these types of compositions with integrity, creativity, and gravitas that is necessary. It was majestic and a tour-de-force.

I’m curious how you were able to keep the right-hand sixths so well-articulated and yet so pianissimo after the 3rd statement of the subject too. Also very curious about how this piano’s action was regulated (seems a little light?)… Thanks for sharing this performance.

It sounds like Liszt, I agree, but in a way, how to get the rendition of this toccata written for organ without some specific effects for the piano ? Some additional notes sound a bit strange, but we cannot say that Bach is distorted, in my opinion. We could imagine a transcription a bit more faithful with the original, why not. In fact, this toccata is so passionate, even so 'symphonic', so ahead of its time, that it seems impossible to resist at the piano !
Carina Suda Busoni was a failed composer, who considered that 'rewriting' a perfectly good piece of music was, in his opinion, flawed and he could rewrite it better.
Токката и фуга ре минор - музыкальное воплощение (особенно чувствуется в оркестре) истории от сотворения Мира до грехопадения и изгнания из Рая. Именно с учëтом этого замысла надо исполнять данное произведение.
@@ArtemYasynskyy Артëм, мне видится вторая часть разговором Бога с человеком. Начинается монологом-вопрошанием человека(-творца) Богом: "Ты! ... ... ... ". Ответ человека - соло ф-но: "Я, Господи,... ... ...". Бог снова задаëт вопрос. Человек вновь пытается отвечать, но Бог его перебивает! Человек (,выслушав Бога) продолжает свою исповедь. Бог снова начинает вопрошать человека, возможно, стыдить его, но человек не умолкает, а со всею душою продолжает свой монолог. Диалог не получается... И Бог замолкает, всë тише становятся Его упрëки, он "входит в положение" несчастного человека и перестаëт требовать от него того, с чего начинает свой грозный монолог. Он как бы уходит на фоне проникновенно-искреннего голоса слабого, несчастного, но Высокого человека (в которого Бог ранее вдохнул талант)... Мне кажется, что это музыкальная исповедь Бетховена самому Господу Богу. Попытайтесь исполнить еë соответствующим образом и получится шедевр исполнения. Оркестр, разумеется, должен также соответствовать "роли" Бога. Как Вам такое видение? P. S. : Первую часть не понимаю. Финал тоже не нравится, разве что рассматривать его как жизненные радости, которым предаëтся человек, не находя поддержки Бога и "не умея" жить по законам Бога...
Too fast, too strong. It's like if you played with hammers ! The arrangements you made are irrelevant, and show a real lack of understanding and sensibility to Bach.
