Peter Weber (the previous bachelor) did something similar to this. He picked up the rose and told the girl (Tasha) that it was too late to form a relationship or something like that.

Dont be ah jerk..the men pick up the rose in order to show the love n respect they still have as a person for the lady there about to reject..its not to be cold..its more to show that even tho i dont see that special connection i still love ya as a good human being....Get it now..smh

they are such big bullies some of them have a victim mentality and it drives me insane that such a good person like Katie is now gone that he progressed w other girls. Well like I get it the heart is heart.

Unfortunately, that's a huge problem with this show, not just how fake and competitive it is by putting a time limit on love, Tayshia's dad said it "you can't microwave love, it takes time" and also, the girls don't even really know Matt. No wonder these engagements don't last because once the cameras are off and they're no longer helicoptering in Bali or going to a carnival the passion and so-called "connection" has faded. I also don't like how anti-feminist this show is, until recently the girls are almost always white but also they freak out if a girl has short hair like Bekah M. from Arie's season or if she dares to be over 30 and bigger than a size 2. I think it's sad they only want Hollywood's conventionally attractive version of a girl and they're usually really pliable like whatever the guy wants they'll do and they end up knocking each other down which is the opposite of feminism. Katie was the only girl there in the house who didn't want any drama and actually meant it.

My point is though that Katie very clearly wasn't even given a chance based on her apparent lack of conventional. characteristics that inspire romance. With her level of nuance and maturity, and how she validated him, in that sense, I thought he seemed inadequate.

I personally think Katie focussed on being a friend instead of focussing on developing a romantic connection... and it's fine it leaves a space for a great guy to find her.. I didnt see her falling for matt or attraction on either side.
