I worked for Noosa Council as an underpaid IT trainee and can confirm that Jess is genuinely like that. He reeks of generic sleazy politician. Going on the show was probably meant to garner favour for the Noosa Elections next year when Jess's seat was up for grabs. Obviously it's backfired terribly.
The people who vet the incoming 'cast' knew what he was like within five minutes. Of course this is all a set-up. These shows are controlled to the second.
Heh and here I was racking my brain thinking that it had to be scripted, but why would you ever choose to take on this villain role where its promoted as reality, you just answered my question. The guy is just a real knob, cheers.
He genuinely frightened me, I have been attacked by men exactly like him. He was so disgusting I couldn't watch it. I said to my husband while he is on the show I can't watch it. He made me feel physically sick.
Can confirm he's a seed dog. I was raised in Noosa and he used to follow my mate around the pub and she'd occasionally scab a drink off him and then go back to pretending he wasn't there. He thinks he's a ledge, obvs zero self reflection skills.
I actually had to skip the parts where Jordan isn't talking first, hear his response, and THEN go back and watch the part again just to tolerate it. That's how bad it is.
My dad works at Noosa (in the council). Jess has been caught sleazing with the receptionists and now he has gotten the keys to the depot taken off him.
What an absolute fucking tool, he's such a sleazebag that he got the council to do something about him. It's impossible to get the council to get out of bed in the morning without greasing the wheels, let alone take action on something or someONE holy shit.
Jordan Peterson: *speaks softly* "This Firefighter is a sad sad man. He has allowed the fear of failure, the apprehension that comes from a society hell bent on hounding masculinity for all its flaws, to keep him down in a perpetual cycle of meaningless depression... Not Good!"
I love how he clearly called them bitches and immediately their association lights dinged because in reality, they're exactly the same, just not as vocal
Ahh yes, a group of men repeatedly standing up for women and ostracizing the member of the group being disrespectful even when (To their knowledge) they aren't on camera and all you guys can say is that it's fake. But yeah, it's masculinity that's toxic aye, definitely not you guys.
Democracy? Nah, pollies are in charge! Do as they say, they are the nanny/British officer class and you are the poor Irish convict. 2 tiers to this society!
wait isnt he a warhammer reveiw guy why is he watching this i dont want to look at women and socialising i want to see grown men play with plastic toys in their garage what is happening
Do people watch shit like this? Those other men are like toddlers. “Oh, ooohhhh, he said this and you know what? Oohhhh, he said thaaaat!” They’re all toddlers hissy fitting around. As for the politician, has anyone met a decent one? I haven’t.
Yeah, everyone in politics, at every level, is a stone sociopath. These reality shows make more sense when you understand that HR and marketing psychos pick just the right dumbos who they know will make fucken fools of themselves under pressure. The crying firey was a whole 'nother level of stupid.
it's obviously played up for drama that firefighter is cute tho pretty cool that he is ok/comfortable with crying on national TV instead of being stupidly macho and supressing his emotions
I work at a bar that Jess comes to a lot, and pretty much every time he's there, he's hitting on the waitresses, and sometimes the customers, but in a weirdly fucked up way.
I listened to this while walking my dog, not even watching this I could feel the sliver of soul I had left cringe into the corner of my heart and weep for humanity. Haven't watched free to air in year's and don't miss it even slightly
Lament not fine tulip for only through the gentle weeping of a childlike innocence can the light of joy once again emerge. Even if it is instigated by Big Brother casting rejections.
That and he's probably functioning on emotional empty depending on how long he's been on the job. Cutting dead kids out of crushed cars doesn't do much for your sanity
@@duckman12569 Yeah they can. I was more picking at the first guys comment saying "Nobody cries that easily", i dont know why i quoted your thing lol. Plenty of people cry that easily is all I was trying to say, you don't have to abuse steroids to be emotional lol
@@friendlyjordies I fuckin hated Lantana. What a mean, pointless little waste of great acting mixed with a shit story. And I'm supposed to think this is genuinely challenging? Does that help?
As an American I am deeply sorry that y'all have unfortunately absorbed our style of reality TV, and honestly you should impose economic sanctions of some kind on us as a result.
Come to Sunny Queensland, where you can bitch with your other "expat" mates about the lack of cultural life while soaking up our fabulous weather (9 months of the year...)
aw come on leave the firefighter alone mate it's hard enough as a man to be able to be open and vulnerable when we're upset, if he's able to cry when he needs to we shouldn't be mocking him for feeling vulnerable! I've had a ton of therapy and even I still can't cry in front of people and sometimes it can feel like torture because you're just internally dying
I know right, I get that he's kind of overreacting but if it was expressed in the "acceptable" way using anger/rage he wouldn't get nearly as much shit thrown at him for it. People'd just be like "jeez get over it" or something.
I suppose im in the minority considering I had a less than healthy upbringing but my first thought when he got upset that someone told him to grow up was that perhaps there's more of an underlying issue with that type of criticism like maybe that was said to him a lot growing up as a way to belittle him. that's all complete speculation of course but it's an example of a reason something so small can impact someone's feelings. everybody has something that hits a nerve and to others it can seem really trivial and inconsequential but we're all fighting our own internal battles and everyone should be more empathetic to each other
Despite what modern culture has tried to push, women like men who are men. Men who are traditionally masculine are happier too. It's only your generation who have chronically low testosterone and are indoctrinated to behave like women that have issues and feel like they need therapy and a cry.
SE QLDers are OK. Outside that, most reside in the shallow end of the gene pool. That pool is filled with XXXX (it's called XXXX because a lot of QLDers are too fucken stupid to even know how to spell "shit"). LOL
I love that the entire premise of the show is to watch a bunch of blokes pretend that they aren't just desperate to get laid by a chick that is being paid to talk to them XD
That doesn't do anything. All it does is lengthen the time until you go back to the video. So... You just really don't want to go back to watching the video.
@@ericlaboratories Take the whole bloody Council to court. As Jordie says, it's where the old people are and boomers=your only chance of money these days
I've been watching a bit of Kitchen Nightmares recently, so I'm prepped for a bit of manufactured drama. BUT THIS...this is something else. Grown adults acting like schoolyard squeakers over some jane doe vlogger with the vocal fry of a dehydrated off-the-rails wine aunt they only met that day, with not an adult conversation to be seen.
This whole Jess saga reminds me of "The Bachelorette" Hannah Brown's season with that Luke S. guy. He wasn't a sleaze but more so the "Girl Defined" type of Christian guy and he was JUST as creepy and people called him out (including Hannah) lol
Thanks for that champ. I was wondering what all the fuss was about. I couldn't actually bring myself to watch that trash, just to find out. Thanks for taking one for the team. I swear shows like this must cause brain cancer
I went out in Noosa a few months ago and I met this guy, he’s 36, a council member and a complete fool, he told me he left the show on his own volition because it “wasn’t for him” hahaha
12:30 idk man, I think they just cut it closer together because the speakers are so braindead there's 20 seconds of "uhhhhhh" and just silence in each sentence
