Got that stuff around here in NWMo. Showed up after the Flood of 2011. Tillage doesn't knock it here. State sprayed the ditches with Tordon. Seems to have killed it so far. Sounds like you need to Rip it about 3 ft deep to pull some Sand up to help it dry out and not be so soupy.
We had just a small amount of it a couple years back. We mowed it low to the ground and moldboard plowed it under and had great success barriering it in
It looks like you run a lot of acres. You are the only RU-vid Ag channel I watch not running some kind of tech in your machines like auto-track. Seems you have the same auto-track features I used on our farm 😅 If you want to see farmers running older equipment and doing their own maintenance, check out Welker Farms out of Shelby, MT. They run Big Bud tractors!
Have you tried a weed killer containing glyphosate? To control your "joint weed" actually it's wild bamboo. The reason your chisel plow works so well on controlling it. The chisels cut deep enough to destroy the rhizome roots, which is how the bamboo spreads.
Thanks for watching. No ya gotta kill the root system of it, disk chiseling has been the best way I’ve found to help stop it, when I can remember to use the chisel that is lol 😆
Hello again from Kessler Grain Farms you tube Have you ever used Gramoxone SL 2.0 and the burn it with fire once it dries down that is some powerful stuff About time for me to leave AZ and get back to farming Keep in touch
Thanks for watching. No we’ve not tried gramoxone, disk chiseling seems to work the best to help rip the root system up. You’re out were it’s nice and warm in AZ haha 😆
Same tractor as the 55 except for the steps, the muffler, and the lights. As someone who has a 4960 I can tell you the air filter gets dirty quicker, and they are louder in the cab.
@@Hinesfarm-Indiana Yes sir. After buying this tractor I kinda wish I had went with the 4955 instead😂. All my other older tractors have the aspirators on them and the filters stay cleaner a lot longer and I don’t have to buy filters as often. The 4960 isn’t a bad tractor at all but one does have to service the air filter a little more often due to the air coming in from the from of the hood as opposed to way up high, out of the dust that surrounds the tractor as you’re plowing.
Yep, we checked it, all 3 of us pulled into a 40 acre field, one hour later we were done, with 2, 33 foot disk and a 30 foot we’re covering 96 feet. Thanks for watching.
