Stanley, I've owned a john deere a few years back a model 4100 with a 60" bucket with a 20hp yanmar engine the most reliable machine I ever owned .never had a problem. Love your show God bless.
@@craigtaylor5378Deere's service network is the reason they have such a large share of the market. If anything, the service network will be the last part of Deere to go.
@@nickc7320 I’d say there is at least 2 other brands that have been doing just that for the last couple decades and are quickly closing in, which is why I said 5 more years. Sorta like saying China and Russia as the head of BRICS within 5 years will be the worlds leading super power.
All those electronic devices are good till the tractor gets hit by lightning sitting in the field. Worked on a JD 4755 that got hit one weekend and it took 2 days and several electronics being replaced before it could leave the field. I have worked on red, blue, and green over the years and JD always had quicker parts availability. Some of the others ordered one day a week and if you called the day after you had to wait another week to order. Another issue I have seen with Agco is trying to find parts diagrams for older MF tractors. I can look up JD ,NH , and Kubota parts, select a dealer and get prices. Give me a New Model 4020 tractor and I would be happy!
@@karlrovey not sure but just seems slow most of our tractors are sitting at 32mph when you have front suspension then the oversized tyres plus deleting eco mode faster again Our legal speed limits but are still stuck at like 20mph technically depending what you are trailing behind and tractor
Drove one and it wasnt very good on the road compared to the Newholland with power command also the said newholland which is supposed to be 212 at max was boosted to near 200 and lots of power a fendt engine is weak and the Transmission is done by 10k hours the transmission is gone on the fendt, As for newhollands CVT local lad has over 20k hours on his no problems on a T7.270 bluepower
@@zzirSnipzz1 We used to only have New Holland on the farm, but they were often standing around with breakdowns rather than doing their job. New Holland really doesn't build anything for longevity. Now we have MF and Fendt and are very happy with them. The purchase costs are higher but so is the reliability and when we trade them in, we have much better residual values. But you know how it is: if you're happy with a brand, there's no reason to change and if the New Holland is perfect for you, it's perfect for me too.
@@gerhardma4297 true,we had very little trouble with ours most driver issues, went to Deere and they had head gasket problems the Newhollands engines have been super reliable and they are always set up,Boosted our 7040 up to 268 there and she is an animal although nothing compared to the 7050 we had at the contracting she was up near the 300 mark and pulled like a train
BTW its not the only tractor with this Spec in the world. The Valtra A Class also has Front Suspension, can be ordered with a CVT Transmission and has up to 135 Hp. Its only so, that US makers cannot provide such a tractor.
If you replace the SLDG loader with one of these tractors with a loader and other options your operators might love the front suspension speed etc. And say na to the Skidsteer 😂 I would love to see a video of this BEAST tractor plowing snow and other jobs. 😊
For the past 3 years I've been driving a Fendt 824 with a hydraulic front blade and a rear blower all winter and its the best snow combo I've ever used. I've been doing snow for 20 years at home and at work and I haven't found a better tractor for our commercial work. It's a night and day difference to the John Deere I use to run with the exact same front blade rear blower and same specs. We use it all spring/summer/fall on our potato farm up here in PEI Canada.
I imported a Fendt Farmer 510 into Canada in 1986... At the time there were less than 10 know to be in Canada. Now that Fendt is owned by Agco parts are easily available and the service is equal to any other. brand.
but the service from deere is the beste of the world ,,, all thinks listening ,,,, all ,,, a screw ,,, a seat ,,a engine ,,, all ,,,, vor all modells ,, tractors ,,lawn mowers ,,, other machines ,,, all ........ on john deere part ,, from older oder new ,,, all ,,,, best service ,, no service no repair !! no repair no work !! but a damage had all machinerys !!! max 1-3 days and you have the part by john deere ,, worldwide !! thats it !!
Love This Stanley 😊 If I ran a business, I would trade every 3 years. If you have to pay way more for an extended warranty . Your equipment is a reflection on your company. Keep it looking great 👍
FENDT IS A OLD GERMAN TRACTOR COMPANIE ... THE GERMAN CALL IT FENDT IS BUILT LIKE A MERCEDES ! AGCO BOUGHT THE GERMAN TRACTOR COMPANIE A COUPLE YEARS AGCO !
Fendts are beasts of tractors. I'll prefer Fendt green over JD green any time. Would love to see Challenger come back. They also made a good tractor and were built down in Jackson, Minnesota.
The biggest issue with the gold star program with Fendt. They put having spare tractors on the dealer. They dont supply them. They make the dealer buy enough of them to self support a certain percentage of the machines they have sold in the last 5 years. Start stackimg up new machines that can't be sold untill after the machine is 5 years out of production its its a hige added cost to the dealer. The are also over enginered in my honest opinion. While ts a cruse control issue the customer support ended up having me test through 3-4 different computers to find the issue. I ended up replacing two of them to grt cruise back for my customer. Needles to say that was an expensive repair for them even after we wrote off a lot of labor.
You can get the same Holy Cow warranty & Service Plan on a Deere... it took them some years to offer it, but they have it. This is the best part of New machines and producers in the market, it pushes all the companies to get better
Fendt's are good high quality machines, but with a price tag. I don't know about the CVT but in Europe you see not very often a used machine under 8000hours for sale, the onwers like to keep their tractors, that speaks for the tractor. Same for Valtra. 13000 hours or even up to 22000 hours are very common on those things.
I am not a farmer, nor a person that would need such a machine, but I do love fine machinery. Seeing this gave me a charge, It made me want to work for a farmer if he/she would just let me have a bit of play time for my hours worked.😊
They're built in Europe, imagine in the future having to rely on service and parts on coming from the European Union! good luck 😊 I wouldn't trust this Company further than I could throw them!
@@paulratzlaff2935 While Fendt is having its origins and most manufacturing in Germany, they're owned by ACGO - which is an American company and leveraging synergies all across the different brands they own.
@@paulratzlaff2935 you already do on a Deere this size made in manhiem or a Case/NH made in Basildon, UK.... but so many are made, parts are readily stocked int he US/ N. America. Neighbors have a Fendt, they got last year. Already have had back ordered parts. Maybe it gets better, but who knows
I met John close to 20 years ago, and I can say he’s been a Fendt fan for a long time. I hadn’t ever heard of them before. It’s cool to see him selling them now.
Fender has been around a a while in Europe. The big ones are popular in farming around my area in Wisconsin but John Deere is still the choice. I watch videos from a huge Canadian farmer that had issues with cold weather with the 700 series. Mike Mitchell . I suggest checking him out.
The New Holland T5.130/140 Auto Command has front suspension, front 3pt, telematics, and a dealer managed planned maintenance package that include all the services, and extended warranty out to 5 years as well. Plus has the option for BDA (break down assistance) which can include paid overnight for parts or a loaner. And you can get it in the Blue Power Special edition with leather seat!
@@Dirtmonkey Whose warranty? If there isn't a Brendt dealer around, warranty don't mean crap. If you got a (local) dealer, you might do OK. IF you have to travel hours away to get warranty, it ain't worth it. And then there is the issue of parts. New dealers, not many dealers, and slim parts available on the shelf, translates to big problems. All I'm saying is if you can't support the tractor, whether it's better or not, it might not be worth it. And then there won't be a big aftermarket parts availability because its a new machine on the market. One has to consider, do I save money up front and it costs me more money down the road, is it worth it? Name brand machines might not be the best out there, but they will always be there. And then lastly.... what is the non name brand machine worth at trade-in time? What I'm saying is you gotta look at the big picture.
@@Mike-hb4pc even if its not a Fendt dealer Massey and Challenger have a ton of parts rollover also 5 years of ownership only four front 3 point potentiometer forks thats it all the parts we've needed also fendt has telematic diagnostic they can remotely access your tractor ecu and tcu read and clear codes our dealer is two hours away and thats saved a ton of hassle and money on stupid nothing codes also trade in value is incredible our older unit a 2019 still has 80% of its value at 2500hrs and it cost a good $20,000 less than the other green in the first place
@@Mike-hb4pc First of all, you should try it with FENDT not Brendt! And this shows already your bias and if other farmers had problems with lots of breakdowns and parts supply issues, what would they do? They certainly wouldn't buy another Fendt. But FENDT sales figures continue to rise. And why? Quality and reliability prevail! And your arguments become illogical the second you realize that AGCO dealers are within easy reach almost everywhere.
@@gerhardma4297 First off, I have no bias. I don't own a tractor, and never have. I worked for a Bobcat dealer for 15 years. I have sold a LOT of equipment over the years, so my comments are based on my experience with ALL brands of equipment. You do what you want, but be advised that some of these companies may prove to be just great. BUT, some of these companies will just disappear, or be bought out by other companies, and then you kind of get yourself in a position you don't want to be in. Not everybody can work on their own tractors or know where to source parts for repairs. Some don't have the time to do that stuff, and others don't want to work on the stuff and prefer their dealer to take care of it. The point of the matter is. it's not just that this Fendt out specs and out performs other brands of tractors, it' how is this going to be for me in the long run? And yes, it might be cheaper up front, but remember it's going to be worth less at trade in time too. Do the math, and figure out what's the best move for your operation.
Fendt…… is the tractor that absolutely will not start in really cold weather……. They have too much that a farmer really doesn’t need and as such will have a hard time ever closing their gap behind DEERE. That said I am a diehard MF fan I have a 5711 optioned out and it’s a great machine. Mine will travel at 26-27mph with the 16 x 16 Dyna4 power shift transmission. My experience with CVT transmissions is all BAD. Power shift is where it’s at
yeah the cold weather starting is the biggest downside we run two and they're wonderful ours were priced significantly lower than Deere in the same weight class and fendts cvt is a good transmission and im a powershift guy all our equipment is powershift besides the fendts imo besides autosteer fendt is ahead 5 years 2500 on one 4 years 1900 hours on the other no breakdowns cvt is still as snappy as the day it rolled off the trailer
A big quality producer in Europe. The issue is local support and parts. Local support works great in Wisconsin no so hot so in San Angelo, TX. Ya still gotta deal with the Holy Cow Warranty for much of the USA. Front PTO is nice.
And noone talks about the acutal best I have worked on them all and operated them all the case/farmalls are the most efficient and most comfterable and still has a fantastic warranty and great dealer support in Minnesota.
Those Fendts are good but those vario transmissions make them incrediblly expensive. They only offer a vario transmission on all of their moddels so they are all fucking expensive. Also if you push those vario's too hard you need two replacements
Agco has some good products but dealers support sucks. There is about 5% of dealers in the us that are good dealers the rest are terrible. Agco also kills really good products to replace it with junk.
what model is the tractor you drove. I have followed these tractors and never thought they would come to the US. It would make a great hay and cattle operation tractor.
Kind of comparable to a Mercedes car, but perhaps slightly more robust. Here in Sweden they have been sold for at least 40 years. Expensive but quality as far as I understand. Farmers that have them drive them for 30, 40 years and can be very attached to the brand. Similar to people having old Mercedes cars.
23.56 my neighbar has one for firewood splitting and forwarding as well as ocasional wood chipping, 23000 hours and no repairs other than oil changes and filters as well as a alternator due to road salt corroding the contacts and a tube for a front tire - he found whyever a hand-forged square shank nail that was even pointed up in the middle of the woods with it
You can spec out a 6S Massey tractor with basically the same options and it will be cheaper and it won't have the duetz. It will have a common platform agco engine that doesn't suck. Integration between an Agco engine and cvt is hard to beat.
Just want to bring it up when you said at the start that deere didn't hsve those options like the fendt, yes deere has all of them and are just as good of a machine and have a much stronger dealer base
This is comparable to a 5000 series deere is what they mean. Small cab no rack and pinion axles etc. the 500 series fendt is like a 6R (I have an IVT 6110R just sayin)
we have two 7 series Fendt they're good tractors will say they hate starting in the cold even plugged in if its not in the shop below -10 forget about it. the potentiometer for the front 3 point is also in a terrible spot exposed to the elements and made of plastic water from the PTO gearbox drips on it while blowing snow and ice builds up we've been through 4 of them other than that easiest tractor to service oil and fuel filter are easy to get to they sip fuel and govt juice and the transmission is wonderful
i have a few questions one is this type of tractor more capable then n skid steer in turms of loader work like moving hard pack snow / dirt / stone? and how does it do with like down presser ik skid steers are kinda met to have down persser but a tractor of this size must have some strath / so i guess im asking if space or size didn't matter would this tractor out work a skid steer just with a bucket ? in ur op ofc .
No this won't replace a skid steer for a couple of reasons. 1. This particular tractor is roughly double the size of a normal skid steer. So maneuverbity is a lot less then a skid steer. 2. The loader arms a to weak for serious dirt work. Will it do the work... yes but not as efficiently as a dedicated loader. It's more used for lighter material like hay bales, grains, cow feed, etc. So about 4,000 to 6,000lbs of lift capacity, where a normal loader can do about 8,000 to 10,000lbs of lift capacity in the the same weight class. This tractor is like a multi tool. It can do a little bit of everything.
This is the case in Europe. In the USA, in a country where very few people pull their heads out of their asses and take a look around, it will be the same. Because quality and reliability prevail even there... it just takes longer with prejudiced and ignorant people.
It’s weird looking at it and watching all the European farmers, protesting and seeing tractors that look like that in those protests. I want one so when the government tries to stop food production here and turn us into communist subjects, we’ve got a cool tractor to drive around on and protest with. 😂
In the area i live a lot of fendt's pulling liqiud maure tankers and large silage carts the custom operators around here went away frim deere transmission of deere couldn't handle the loads
Stan, I don't know if it's still the case, but my dutch neighbors around here order their Fendt from Europe and have them shipped over. Because the European versions are that much better. Love the video just wish I could justify one. Cheers! I'm an equipment junkie!
Comparing Fendt to JD is like comparing Toyota (Fendt) and kia rio (JD) Fendt has been on top for years and I don’t see anyone knocking them off the podium! It’s sad that America is so far behind on their name!
That’s Funny. Go drive around in the Corn Belt Land Country Planting this year and Hugh majority of tractors and other equipment are John Deere. Next breed out their in the fields are CaseIH ! So I don’t know what Drug your smoking in your Crack Pipe.
both out 724 and 720 Vario cost less than Deere like 20 grand less and having run both they're more comfortable and really reliable they don't like the cold though even plugged in they struggle to start if its below zero so we make sure to have em in a heated shop in the winter
I have own Fendt 309 loader tractor 25 years and it has always been reliable doing farm jobs cut grass, haul round bales silage and straw muck carting muck spreading haul timber a use timber grab also with 360 swivel on 4 Hyde connect for log grab
I’m Deutz fahr all the way. They make engines for Fendt. John Deere is all about making you pay for the green paint, and not allowing you to fix it. Not to mention the DEI they’re into.
Still would take the now Mercedes-Benz owned for a long time Unimog although everyone loves those things now so the price has gone through the roof so maybe a Ford 9N in the interim..
I've got 10 Challenger MT515D's which are a Fendt in a different color, they have been the best tractors I have ever maintained and we ran Deere before these. Got just over 2000 hours on them and they still look as good as they did the day they came off the delivery trailer. You can't go wrong with a Fendt tractor.

Good day Challenger wheeled tractors are Masseys they were produced in Beauvais France. There was a choice of transmissions CVT or auto power 4 or 6. They are very reliable machines.
Several people have stated on RU-vid that the duetz diesel in that class fendt has a very hard time starting in cold weather. Mike Mitchell has great things to say about fendt but hates that motor for its hard starting.

IDK, Fendt is a good tractor and all the pros and cons mean nothing till 20yrs go by. I'm no expert but have a 60 yr old Case diesel that starts on a crank even after sitting outside and not running for years, still works great. Opened the gearbox-no lie, completely new looking even the red cast paint used to seal the pores.
I don’t wanna sound too negative but I’ve been around a few fendt’s had them on the farm and have some friends that work on them and… they suck.. that thing probably threw a code while they where going over the brochure and cleared codes 20x to get the video shot. When compared to case, new holland and Deere… I’m sorry you couldn’t pay me to put one of these things on our farm. The 48hr window fix it or replace it .. your going to need a few spares on the lot while the parts are flown in or riding a boat over here cause that thing going to have issues and so will the rental. Our neighbor got a big 2 track spent 10 outta 11 weeks broke sitting in the yard machine was brand new! Are you kidding me?? Sorry to vent in your comments Stan but fendt aka agco doesn’t have anything to sell imo ✌️
I was out when i heard AGCO , I was a die hard MF guy , you couldn't kill a Perkins diesel with a Tank . But AGCO has totally abandoned the US market , their dealer support is virtually nonexistent. Try finding a dealer or evan a mechanic in my part of Texas
