Featured in the video:
* Back Country Cuisine meals from ‪@survivalsupplies‬ ‪@Backcountrycuisineofficial‬ ... I also briefly mention MRE's I've tried. These are from a different brand called On Track Meals, not at all related to Back Country Cuisine. They are not featured in this video, but they are in a couple of my other videos. They are also fantastic.

The cycling pedal generator which I talked about mainly for novelty/fitness value but cool to charge little things whilst working nonetheless www.survivalsu...
Also included is my review of the most excellent Survival Supplies Australia. Their service is outstanding, and they have an incredible array of products.
* iTechworld 1300P (which ran the microwave - I didn't update how much it used, but it was approximately 10% of the power to run the microwave for 5 minutes.) ‪@itechworld1‬ itechworld.com... --- I will have a review of this and my other iTechworld products soon, I have just been without a phone for quite some time, so haven't been able to film - but I have two phones now, so I am all sorted. Spoiler alert, I'm very happy.
* Microwave from Kmart $52 (now $49) www.kmart.com....
If you buy a microwave, please be aware you need to look at the input and output power, not just the label on it saying how many watts. This one uses 1200 watts to run and gives 700 watt output, thus it works fine with my iTechworld 1300P.
* The mug I got from a Jim Jefferies show in Perth 2022. I can't find it online, so no link other than Jim's official website jimjefferies.com/
BACKSTORY - HOW I GOT HERE............
I bought this home initially about 15 years ago for $5000. It was $12000 total, but I got the first homebuyers grant of $7000, which took it down to $5000. I sold it about 10 years ago after writing a mildly amusing ad on gumtree for it, which garnered some media attention (radio, tv and press www.watoday.co...) I sold my house for $12000. I then bought it back last year for $12500.
I was unable to get the power turned on as the electrician I contacted politely said they wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. This was actually a blessing in disguise as I otherwise would not have known all this amazing stuff about solar power and all the amazing things I’ve been discovering about living off grid. All this electrical/plumbing work would have been super expensive too!
I have chosen only to use power from the sun, so although gas or diesel could give me the ability to cook, boil a kettle etc, I’ll wait till I can afford to get the appropriate power stations to power it. I have to purchase things bit by bit as my bank will not give me any sort of a loan as I have had past issues with debt (years ago) due to cost of living.
I work from home so can do what I do anywhere (I’m a transcriber and sell on eBay). Also in the past I have produced shows at multiple festivals and other venues around Australia. I'd like to do this again (maybe even one talking about my off grid adventures), but at the moment the priority is getting my house sorted.
If you want to help me, please buy my stuff (direct from me is preferred www.ebay.com.a...) or I’m looking for more stock if you are an op shop anywhere in Australia that will help me buy stuff to sell.
