The one that you got by Billy is a good one not to bad man :)!!! Good old Chuc :) you just can't go wrong. Joe W nice one and all of the other one you got just great and keep them spinning.
Nice albums. I checked out the Arthur Alexander originals of You Better Move On and Anna on youtube. Now I'll be looking to get some of his records or cds. The Joe Walsh album is good. I like a few tunes on that one. Thanks for sharing.
Those Billy J. Kramer LPs are both phenomenal! Sneaking Around on Trains And Boats And Planes is one of the best things Billy ever did imo. The Dakotas were a great band, in their own right, as well. I don't think you can ever go wrong with any vintage Merseybeat. With that in mind, I'd like to recommend The Searchers album Take Me For What I'm Worth from 1965, if you don't already have it. Especially if you can find an original U.K. pressing with the correct track listing. I feel that it's one of the best albums from that year and it really deserved a lot more attention than it got. Sadly, they were on the Kapp label in the U.S., and the company didn't seem very good at promoting rock and roll acts at the time. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the Billy J. albums!
The Billy J Kramer LP you got. I noticed when you showed the record label I did not see the word stereo on it so you may have a mono record in a stereo labeled cover.
Just actually listened to arthur alexander’s version of Anna for the first time - thanks for giving me the reason to check it out- still think John’s young voice and phrasing is so awesome and exciting - he takes it to another level and the background vocals by George and Paul enhance Anna compared to the weaker background girls on the original -
Today's recording artists are electronically altered for music. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I'm sure Paul McCartney could have done a better job with "Froggy Went A-Courting". Geez, they couldn't find a better B-side than THAT??
It's hard for junkies to kick a habit, and Joe you are a junkie. A vinyl junkie. The difference between you and regular junkies is that you place the needle in the groove and not in your arm. There's nothing wrong with that, in fact I wish more people were vinyl junkies.
