In the beginning, an "orb" is cast unto Earth. "It" can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates "it"; and come back to life after death. "It" morphs from orb to rock, then to wolf, and finally to boy, but roams about like a newborn who knows nothing. As a boy, "it" becomes Fushi.
Through encounters with human kindness, Fushi not only gains survival skills, but grows as a "person". But his journey is darkened by the inexplicable and destructive enemy Nokker, as well as cruel partings with the people he loves.

@@destroyerblackdragon Fushi not knowing he could resurrect others was pivotal for him developing empathy and understanding for the importance of life. If he knew from the beginning that he could bring people back he wouldn't understand loss. He needed to suffer to understand what life means to those not like him, the mortals he must protect.

If you're wondering if this anime is good it's extremely good, hands down one of the best anime to come out in a while that isn't a carbon cutout with a slightly different story. Has an amazing plot, crazy character development and the world building is very fun to follow. Edit: personally I try to give dubs a chance but unfortunately the VA do not fit many of the characters at all. It's honestly laughable with how much money is generated behind anime only for them to use the same 30 English VAs for every anime made. I understand why people shit on dub because there's no diversity.

I wouldn't exactly say there's no diversity in this anime's dub. For example Fushi's VA this is his anime debut, so you literally can't claim you've heard him dozens of times in anime before when this is first.
