Today we are getting Jacobs lawnmower back in business, talking a little about chickens, harvesting our sorghum seeds, and tonight for supper we are having chicken wings, homemade fries, and fresh corn on the cob.
Wing Sauce
1/3 cup hot sauce
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
Heat until sugar is melted. Let sauce cool for it to thicken a little before pouring over your chicken wings. It is so good and I know yall are gonna love it!

I completely agree! Teaching children responsibility is one of the most important tools we can give them.

Last year for the first time I took my potatoes and peeled them and used my Pampered chef garnisher thing and made them into crinkle cut fries and canned them up. All I have to do is take them out of the jar and I rinse, pat them dry and then season and cook in my air fryer.

Bravo Andy. Kids do need chores to do to teach them responsibility. Jacob and Maggie know how to do more at their age than most adults now. Daddy used to get me to do all kinds of stuff on the farm while he was working. When I was a little older than Jacob, I used to rig up the 140 so Daddy could cultivate tobacco when he came in from work. When I learned how, he put me to cultivating. I love wings and those look delicious. Another way I like to grill them is dry rubbed with some Cajun seasoning, I'm glad y'all made enough cane to get your seed back. Y'all have a great weekend and enjoy the festival tomorrow. Say hello to Chris for me if you see him.

My daddy always said that when you finish mowing you need to clean the mower. Even under the deck. That way that muddy wet dirt doesn't build up. Glad to see the kids doing chores. Kids need structure like that. So many these days don't get that. They will not be able to keep a job in the future.

I appreciate the time Andy and Meghan take to teach their children. Jacob and Maggie are like listening to every word. This is the value to family and a child being able to make it in life. Thank you for realizing how important this is in raising a child. I will share this video.

You are exactly right. Our jobs as parents are to prepare our children for when they get a job and leave home. The more we prepare them for the real world, the better they will do for themselves, and they don't get a rude awakening when they get a job. Being honest with them is not criticizing them it's teaching them constructively. I love how involved yall are with both of you kids and always allow them to help even when it may be faster to do it by yourself. I think it is also great when other kids that may be watching your channel see how much your kids help and what they are able to do. They always inspire me, and I'm 54 yrs old. Kids grow up so fast that the more we can teach them, the better prepare they will be. My son just turned 15, and it seems like yesterday he was a toddler, I believe in enjoying every moment you can with them.

Hubby suggests that you may sand down the 'rough' pulley; and there may be a tension rod which could be adjusted to prolong the belts' lifespans. Blessings North Carolina Fam (in Christ)❣️ (from New England)

Doggone it i was really hoping to see y'all making sorgum this year..I've been looking around for an old mill myself and if a good one is not found I'm thinking about how to build one. When you went to the barn to get potatoes and said you were fixing chicken wings for supper..for just a second i thought Hey,we're fixing to "pick" us some "fresh" chicken wings for supper!🤣 ..texas pete makes a sautéed garlic version of their sauce that's great if you can find it. Greetings from Mississippi ! Love y'alls channel 🇺🇸🇺🇸

If it’s not raining saltwater (……) John Deere’s parts suppliers are using poor grade steel. Whether it’s John Deere itself producing low grade steel pulleys or the Ukraine copies now being allowed in by the US government for farmers to source poor quality replacement parts to conduct their own repairs after last year’s extraordinary court ruling, I wouldn’t know. However, we’ve seen in the UK how second rate our own manufacturing industry has become since our government signed nefarious trade agreements under the heading of allies with Chinese and Ukraine suppliers copying our patents and parts using extremely poor quality steel and alloys. When I say we I mean my own family’s engineering exporting company. I might add that 90% of “the” business is now manufacturing and exporting to the USA since made in the USA became a thing. Business boomed to the extent that my brother dreaded opening the orders sent in. Using the best quality specialist steel produced in Austria. Our products are essential for manufacturers to make their own tooling capable of engineering products made from a better quality steel that won’t let an assembly line down (ask Elon. He knows how important my point is). Steel, I might add, that an extremely astute recent President exempted from the tariffs he imposed on steel imports from the UK when in office. There’s no point trying to make AGA unless US companies can access the right tooling from the right God fearing family businesses who strive to do right by their customers. Still amazes me how this particular president KNEW that specific steel should be exempt from the import tariffs. As if he knew that without it, MITUSA wouldn’t get off the ground. Meanwhile, US steel producers not yet closed down by Net Zero should concentrate on keeping their highest grade ore suppliers in business and NOT import the end product rubbish from Ukraine (google it) and China. John Deere may well have been too dogmatic with its service control but equipment owners (US AND UK) really do need to think twice before using third world spare parts just because politicians favour wink wink business contracts with specific countries and their unelected leaders. I really was shocked to see the state of those pulley’s. My father used to supply similar parts he had designed before he sold that part of the business a couple of decades ago. If I recall correctly, the only company he didn’t improve the design and supply parts for in the mowing business was Snapper which, att, was already leagues better than its competitors. There. A little of our own history from my part of the world for you.
