Couldn't agree more......... I went back to Canada for a month and I cut my trip early to get back to Thailand. I tried using the medical system in Canada and I had to wait over 24 hours and then finally gave up and came back to a Thailand hospital and it was dealt with in less than an hour. The inflation, taxes, prices of food, fuel in Canada was ridiculous and I don't know how they live. Infrastructure is so much better and more modern in Thailand as well. So happy to be back
Canada is fked right now. Too much money printed and open borders. Those who know how to live in the LoS (did a 9 month student run there a decade ago) should probably think about becoming ex-pats
I left Thailand to come back to California 3 weeks ago and I miss Thailand already. Looking forward to getting back soon. I dont fit in here anymore! Enjoy your time in the land of smiles.
I’ve been in LA and other cities for a couple weeks and it does feel different. I used to come home often, but this is the first time since 2021. It’s not the same as it used to be. Even the food that I missed, I didn’t crave it as much.
@@TheGangstaz3000 look into the visa requirements, Vietnam is easier especially if you are American. Thailand is awesome if you qualify for one of their visas, otherwise, you have to exit the country every few months and come back in.
I hear you, we built our house in Thailand and we have been there for over a year. We had to come back for immigration so my wife will have dual citizenship. I was blown away how horrible America is now! This place has gone down the toilet! We should be home in Thailand soon hopefully 😅
While I was in Pattaya, I found that most of the folks I attempted to speak basic Thai to responded to me in broken English. I met a Bolt driver that was super cool and taught me a ton of words in Thai. Most of all I really enjoyed practicing Thai words with the girl I was hanging with. I'm definitely looking to coming back and eventually moving there.
I’m 21 n plan on moving to Thailand when I’m 23. Saving up and building my businesses here so people can run my business n I can live cheap in Thailand
I left America 2019 and have been living in the Philippines the past 5 years now. Im a younger guy with a full pension. I assume many guys in the US want to leave but are trapped for several reasons and issues….. For example some guys have criminal records and cant get a passport, others got caught up in the divorce family court web ie spousal support, child support, domestic violence…… Luckily i never got caught up in any of those issues so I had no problem living abroad. Philippines is 🔥 …..love it here

I understand your feelings going back to SEA after being in the US. I have those same feelings. I enjoy being in the US to visit family and friends, but after doing that I can't wait to get back out in the world again. Also agree with your thoughts about seeing other places, giving them a try as well. As you noted, the world is a big place and I guarantee you will find other places that you will also vibe with. I always thought I would find that one place that was perfect for me, but I soon realized that there are multiple places that I love. So being a nomad, making repeat stays in places I love while continuing to explore new places, is the life for me. Best of luck in learning Thai!
I've been back in Australia for 3 weeks after being a year in Thailand and I'm missing it so hard! Can't wait to get back and I can definitely relate. Khoop khun khrap nice vid :)
I'm currently learning Thai, but I started with learning to read and write first. Not sure if you have practiced the consonants and vowels yet, but if you have not, a great tip is to study the Thai alphabet first, work with a native Thai teacher just on the alphabet, even if your goal is not to really be able to read that much. It makes it sooooo much easier to learn vocab and Thai in general and it improves your pronunciation so much.
Love your openness and honesty! Moving to Koh Samui in 48 days, 30mins and 17 seconds. CANNOT wait to leave SoCal and be there. Starting to feel a little 3rd world here. Gotta get out! Keep the vids coming and I will def follow your Thai lang. vids..teach me something new! Aloha! 🤙🏽
I feel you completely bro, I stayed there for 3 months at the beginning of this year and I've been back in the UK for 4 months planning to move there full time next January can't wait!
My dad is moving to Thailand from Mexico in Sept. My brother moved to Vietnam. I’ll be following soon lol. I’m not a risk taker and my son and gbabies are here in the US. It just makes me nervous.
I understand perfectly how you felt. After my one year full-time travel in SE and Europe, it has been hard to re-adjust back home(US). I miss very much traveling overseas long term, can't wait to get back on the road again. Enjoy your travels!
I am currently trying to learn Spanish, but I am so tempted to try to learn some Thai as well. I think the people and the language are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
Welcome back to Thailand. I am impressed with your enthusiasm to learn Thai. I wouldn't be surprised to see you will be able to converse in Thai the next few years. 👍
We love your channel. We are planning to move there in early 2025. Can't wait to meet you. Side note. Singing Thai songs can help build laungage skills. 💫
Learning Thai is a challenge that I’m interested in too. A video on the best way would be great. Is it better to learn to read and write the language first or speak the language? I am a visual learner, so I think if I’m handwriting words, I’ll learn them faster. The more you go back the better it gets. It becomes more familiar.
I’ve been to Thailand in 2022 , I am returning to follow the “dream” of working online brother . Watching your video a long time bro , would love to meet up with ya for a beer or coffee some day brotha . Love the videos man, seem like a down to earth guy🧘♂️ starting my own RU-vid journey also ! Kudos from Ireland man 🧘♂️
Keep doing your thing young brotha! Many don’t have the courage or means. Keep inspiring for those who do want to try something new. Blessings and Peace! Grateful,
I came back to the US during the COVID pandemic start and it has been quite difficult. I am getting to a point where I can split my time between the US and Asia because my eldest son got tired of being an expat so we are giving him space with his life. 4 years later and I am still in a constant state of reverse culture shock 😂😂😂😂
Bro when I saw you in Bangkok that day I was literally getting ready to head back to TX. I was there for 1 year & 3 months. Been back home since February of this year. I’ve been disgruntled the whole time here. Thailand I’ll be there in a few months ❤️🔥
Yes, life is learning Being with the present, do what you feel happy, now you’re happy to be here, stay here. No one knows the future. Hope you happy and have a great moment here in Thailand 😁😁😁
ComprehensibleThai RU-vid channel have hundreds of lessons where you listen to Thai conversations for like 30 minutes at a time. Beginner to advanced. It’s a great resource, you may need to learn some of the basics first though. Thaipod101 is decent too, also I’ve noticed with myself I learn far more from my mistakes when I actually practice talking with Thai people and they correct me, interaction with others is a key part of language learning in my opinion. Good luck learning Thai - the first 2-3 months are pretty challenging for an English speaker but the more you learn the easier it becomes. Have fun with it
Found your channel last night and did a deep dive lol. I’m very interested in getting out there to Thailand and exploring and potentially moving there. Your information has helped a lot. Keep doing what you’re doing!
Hi Bro, nice to see you back to USA to meet friend and family and I can see how happiness from your face smiling that is the same when I back to Thailand and I already have plans thousands things to do. Hahaha enjoy mate and I am planing to go back to Thailand soon. 😁🙏🥰👍🇹🇭
lol I feel you, I live in Hanoi and I went to visit Amsterdam last summer for the first time in 5 years, and I enjoyed seeing the city and reconnecting with relatives, but then I was like.. OK peace!
Good luck on your Thailand language journey. It’s an interesting language to learn. Thailand is one of my top countries. Looking forward to returning soon. 🇹🇭
Good luck brother. It's dope you're taking on learning Thai. I definitely would say to make it a part of the vlog but still continue with the vlog after the learning section or have it as a separate video? I enjoy your vlogs brother. I definitely don't want to lose out on that lol
Just submitted my DTV application stay finalizing a few things. I’ll be making the move to Thailand Summer of next year if all goes according to plan. Much love to you brutha🫡
I’m back in NYC and I sick of being here and I want to go back!!! I lived in Bangkok Sky walk condominium for 6 months and I can’t wait to go back. Hit me up. I came back because I lived in Shenzhen China to make some direct connections.
i always see twinkle in your eyes when you talk about Thailand. thank you for sharing. i'm trying to figure out where in southeast Asia to travel (solo) first
You go through a series of phases during the overseas experience. If you really enjoy the new experience, it's easy to get carried away with it, and then you'll progress to another middle phase where the things you didn't notice much (or at all) before, start to wear on you. The last phase is when the rose-tinted glasses come all the way off and you see things as they really are, for what they are. I've been through it a few times in my life, first time 18 years old getting stationed in Japan with the Navy for 3 years. Returned to the US for about 7 years then left on orders again in 1998 and never returned, other than brief trips back to visit family and hang out. Now been living full-time in Thailand for 12 years.
Ashley Thanks for sharing this great information regarding your recent journey. Good luck with your Thai language studies. We'll be keeping up with you along the way! Peace! Gerald & Kim Moore
Hey man, you give much needed inspiration and hope during these difficult times, to see a person who looks like me succeeding and genuinely being transparent with the process is commendable. I sincerely appreciate it. Greater success to you my brother ✊🏾
Bro’s got that extra 3 points bug like the rest of us. Not to be blunt but most foreigners coming to Thailand get boosted instantly just by stepping on Thai soil. That USD baby, makes you a hell lot more attractive in Thailand than back in the states.
I am glad that you are trying to learn Thai. I enjoyed your video that you interviewed a Thai woman in Nashville. I plan to spend time in Bangkok about three months per year. I hope that someday I can meet you in Bangkok and you can practice speaking Thai with me. I am fluent in 4 languages including Thai. I have been living in Chicago suburb for 45 years and I understand why you like Thailand. The winter in Illinois can be tough to cope with. I will be there from November to January.
@@theisaiahashleyshow4251 One tip that I can give you about language learning is that not to be afraid to try out and use what you learn on the daily basis. The local usually understand what you trying to say to them even though you may have some accents. After learning French while I was at Northern Illinois University, I went to France twice and each time I just went out and kept practicing every day with the local people. After two weeks in Paris, I was able to function on my own with a little help from my cousin who lived there. Good luck!
I watched your videos last year before coming out to Thailand. Now I've been living in bkk since August but I've also been to 11 countries since that time, and I go to Japan for the first time in August for 3 weeks. I recommend you go to a new country every two months, but you should try and see more man, it's a big world
I lived abroad for almost 13 years in Europe. It was the experience of a lifetime and although it's been over 20 years since I left Europe there are some elements of it that I miss. If I'm being honest though I don't think that I could have ever made the money abroad that I'm making now.
I find it funny and interesting you found the same travel method as me!!! Often times I can get two tickets, one to Europe and one Europe->Asia for the same or cheaper than a long flight from the Americas. So it's a no brainer in my book. I prefer not changing 12 hours of time zones at once and dealing with the jet lag, so I spend at least 1 week in Europe to adjust. At 0 added cost or even with savings!! I hadn't thought of checking out Greece though, usually I'm doing Paris and Frankfurt since those are the cheapest airports for flights usually.
Hey, i was born in thailand and left there when i was 8 to come to australia. Im 37 now, ever since i left i always wanted to go back to thailand to live. Australia is nice but not home. The heart wants what it wants
yea I lived in thailand for 3 years -- lived there 10 years ago; once you leave the USA/home it really shifts you a lot - it will be very hard for you to stay in the USA and it may be hard to just stay put in general
Appreciate you Bro! Great information and content as usual. Please keep informing and updating us. I’m working on my passport and want to visit in January. I’m retiring soon and feel like this is the place for me to settle for life.
I feel all of this so much! American from California living in Chiang Mai since 2019 and can relate to all of your videos about life here vs back in the states. I go to BKK when I need a chance of pace and would love to connect if you’re down or ever back in CM! 😊
@@chameleonlux8642 My transition has been interesting because I traveled with my dog from Chicago and Bangkok is not really pet friendly, so I was in and out of different places until I found the perfect living accommodations that allowed me to network and meet other expats from around the world bc I don't know how long I can commit to staying. Great place if you have a partner, but dating sucks if you're single & black, lol. It is hard connecting with people as a black woman fr and it can get lonely (I am not going to lie) butttttt I do recommend your first months doing a shared Airbnb. I purchased a multi-entry tourist visa before arrival which granted me a 60-day stay but they just updated their visa rules so I would not recommend buying ahead of time. Just come and get a 60-day stamp at the airport and figure everything out from there. If you come, just hmu I got you! I don't do social media fr but hmu on IG missaaliyahmarie_ & tiktok missaaliyahmarie if you need help with anything (may take a while bc I am never online) .
You've made a good life for yourself in the Land of Smiles so understable you not gonna rush back to the states. Your Greece upload was very interesting and confirmed why it is on my bucket list. Do you have a long term visa? Im now looking at the DTV to move to Thailand
USA to Japan biz class then few days later Japan to bkk is a good move , you get a Tokyo vaca aound same price total , also they always transition you to coach class at Japan anyway
