July 1994 was literally the month I came back to comics as an (young) adult. The X-Men cartoon brought me back.

That cartoon did so much for comics. It may get most of the credit for keeping Marvel relevant enough that it didn’t completely implode and die mid-decade.

RIP Magazines! I miss posters and centerfold posters from Superheroes,Playboy and NBA players getting dunked on AKA Posterized.

The internet sure took the steam out of the magazine market. Everything used to get a magazine back in the day, or so it seemed.

I grew up on the Clone Saga and still love it to this day, even though I know it’s not good.

Thanks for the video Drew. This was fun to see a Top 10 list from the 90s and how it compares today. Seems you could pick-up favorites of your childhood for reasonable prices. Keep up the good work ✌️

That’s what’s blowing my mind is how affordable most of the hot books were back then. I’ll be interested to see how that changes when I get to the years after eBay settled in.

Loved the video Drew. It takes me back to the days of being a penniless comic book collector. Had to use my lunch money for comics.

You could build a damn nice collection with a $10-20 budget each week back then. Sure doesn’t go very far today.

Great video. Those were amazing times to collect. I never jumped on the Image bandwagon when it came out while I was in high school but recently I’ve been exploring some of the 90s comics that were not DC or Marvel and appreciate the stories and art.

It’s an affordable pool to dip your toe in and the print runs were big enough that scarcity isn’t an issue a lot of the time. There is so much indie stuff out there from the 80s/90s, I learn about new stuff all the time.

I didn't know beavis and butthead had a comic!😂 Also that Marvels book with the Alex Ross cover is a beautiful piece of art 👌

Yep! The later issues are pretty tough to track down, but it’s a fun series. I don’t think anyone will ever doubt Ross’ artistic abilities. He’s done some amazing work over the years. Thanks for watching!

NM Lady Death copies sell for around $50 with the actually low census count CGC 9.8 going for $250-$300
@CoMoComicBooks
@CoMoComicBooks 3 месяца назад
I definitely wasn’t talking about super high grade copies. I’m from the era when NM/M was anything from 9.0+, before CGC and such. Very rarely will I ever be referencing 9.6/9.8 raw copies. If you hear me say high grade when talking about raw books, it’s generally VF+ or better. That said, in all the shows I’ve ever been to, I’ve never seen a raw Lady Death 1 priced anywhere near $50. Online, I definitely think that could be the case, but I think that’s a great example of the difference between in person and online comic buying.

Really fun video Drew! Do you think there are many books that you could buy locally, And sell them on eBay for a decent profit? Thanx!
@matrix_comix
@matrix_comix 2 месяца назад
@@CoMoComicBooks I remember when NM/M meant 9.0 and up. I think that’s why CGC started haha And yes, definitely a discrepancy between online and irl prices. Although I typically see NM copies for 40-50$ but I’m in NYC so maybe it’s just that much more here.

To me Lady Death is the #1 female comic character. I loved to draw and her comics were really Master pieces of work, nothing better than Lady death and black ink… I hate that they went digital with her, it’s not the same.

That book was such a big deal in the 90s. I’ll be curious to see just how long it was on the hot10 as I go through more and more of them.

Nothing too exciting in the Hot10 30 years removed, that’s for sure, but some of them are definitely fun and/or collectible.
