I really appreciate your candidness…I truly believe this happens to all equestrians and it is rare to hear someone being honest about getting back in the saddle and doing it again. It takes a true brave heart to jump what these horses and rider are jumping! Go gobble it up Ashley!
We’re always going to support you Ashley. Through the hard and good. I’m a young rider and I know that I have never experienced something that serious as you. But I know that you will event and win more than you ever have :)
you keep it so real and for that you’re my favourite equestrian and definitely an inspiration. Sometimes our confidence is so much more important that the results we get on paper. awesome job!
Everytime I was hurt on a horse spill or fall. I had to heal up and go back to riding because that is what I chose to do. I see it is the same thing with my dear. The love for our horses overrides the danger. Good Luck! Sincerely, Jockey Jane from America.
Glad to see you back in the saddle for two confidence-giving rides. Kind of ironic that a side-effect of the fall is that you are slightly wary of the more straightforward fences than the tough ones. However, as you said, "Onward and upwards!" Oh, and tell Scott that I loved how he scrunched you up in the palm of his hand, then released you in a totally different location, haha!
Loved the Vlog, biggest respect for getting back out there and taking two horses, it was an honest Vlog and fantastic that you shared the hi’s and Lo’s to this very challenging sport. Definitely 10/10 from all of us. Well done to the support team lovely to see you as always.
Well done for getting back in the saddle Ash, you rode AMAZINGLY! to be able to have the bravery to get out and go round 2 novice tracks in one day is just purely admirable 🤩 I’m SO glad that you and Zeb are ok after your fall , huge well done to Scott and your parents for coming and supporting you!
You were fantastic, first ride back at an event, with 2 horses, jumped clear well done x. Thank you for your honesty and showing your feelings, you are a real inspiration.
max and Kato were ready to go! vary forward and eager. I'm so happy to see you recovered and taking a step back to not only recover from I jury but to boost your confidence too. One step forward and 2 back fits so well here...and tears are part of it! So hapoy ypur sharing it all. I showed my neice your fall video and this one and she smiled so big! You are one in a million and best of luck going forward!
Great comeback Ashley! You would be inhuman if you wouldnt have some nerves and some worry int the back of you mind. Lovley riding as always. a joy to have you back!
These vlogs don't come round soon enough and this one certainly did not disappoint. Its a good job your back in the saddle ...yay more vlogs to come (please)
So glad to see you back in the saddle and doing so so well. Thank you for being candid and sharing all with us. You are such a strong and brave woman, Ashley! I would rate the event as 10 out of 10 :D
You and your horses are the best! So is your support team. I love your videos. You are so honest and genuine. Continue to do what you love and surround yourself with those that love you!
You did well! The first time back is always the hardest. I can see you need to relax over the cross country, and by that I mean upper body. After my first big fall (horse did a complete somersault with me in the saddle. Didn't have the fancy safety equipment that is now mandatory) it took a month before I could get back on without breaking down in tears. Rode the same horse and kept snatching her in the mouth. Finally realized she WAS going forward, I was NOT! Took 6 fences like a rank beginner leaned forward and grabbed mane and let her do her job. Sat up and finished and was in time! Whew. Was good to go!
So glad your back on board Ashley that’s the best thing you can do we have all fallen but always get back on board. I think Maximus has a smashing jump in him and I believe Kato is going to turn into a star! Be proud I would be your a cracking little rider can’t wait to see more.tfs😎
The fact you are back is amazing I had a big fall and I had 4 months off and put my pony up for sale and then had a turn and now we are jumping 30 cm ❤️❤️
I echo everyone's comments about your candidness - it's inspiring for those who have struggled and/or had a hard fall. Everyone has their confidence shaken during those times, and seeing you push through that is inspiration - well done! You did amazing
Thank you so much for sharing the good times AND the bad! I'm trying to get my confidence back jumping and it's nice to see someone so talented and at your level working their way back. Gives me hope! The editing is fantastic and your whole family are superstars. Glad to have found your channel!
I love ur honesty... I am currently working through a confidence crisis over the last year due to sharp horses and being a new mum... It's Very hard so we'll done you for being so vunerable showing us amateurs it's not always smooth sailing and we're all human xx
@laura hendy I think it is perfectly natural that you would have a bit of a confidence crisis after becoming a new mum. It's a major life change and I can see how having a wee one dependent on you would change your perspective and priorities. Aim for enjoyment and I'm sure the confidence will return.
Great to see you out again doing what you enjoy. Little maximus face was a picture could see him saying come on mum let's go out there and have fun. Xx
So great to see you back out there, and what a huge achievement to do it so soon after your fall. MASSIVE brave pants on that day I'm sure ..well done!! xxx
Hi Ashley, just saying thanks for how generous you are with your time in replying to everyone's comments. You have such a busy life, and I'm sure others appreciate it as much as I do. Lovely rapport with your followers 😀👍🏻🐴
Well done you did amazing I can imagine that you would of had your confidence knocked and to get back out there and do two beautiful rounds is incredible x
So well done Ashley! I was really nervous for you going down to the xc start but you rode brilliantly! And if I’m honest I would of totally wimped out and gone out and dropped down to 100 but to go out and go round a strong novice xc track twice was unbelievable brave of you after your fall! I think the tears at the end were most probably relief as well as nerves and I absolutely don’t blame you for that❤️well done and keep at it as I think your brilliant xx
Thanks for showing your nerves sweetie, it will help me know I'm not alone when I get nervous. I don't like vlogs when people just show everything perfect all the time because that's not real life. Being brave is doing it afraid & you are very brave!!
Go ashley you got this girl. Go out there and smash it like never before. Hope you're okay now. Your a very talented rider and there's one thing about every rider that is special and yours is that you never give up!
Well done Ashley, you did a great job on both horses and, despite those understandable nerves, you completed the job. Love your vlogs and Facebook stuff.
You are such an amazing rider and very brave!!! I am so glad you had a confident outing💕. Your family is so awesome, so supportive yet keeping it real😁
Glad you and Zebedee okay! Also glad you got back on the saddle, because some don't after a scary fall! Kato and you have so much potential! Same with Maximas!
Aw bless I almost cried seeing you teary after your first XC run. I'm so glad you shared that very private and vulnerable moment because I also get quite emotional with my nerves but often feel stupid for it. It's nice to know that even at your level you can experience these feelings as well and definitely wanted to just give you a big hug. Super well done for being honest with yourself and for being so brave and pushing through your nerves. Lovely vlog ❤
You did sooooo well to even get back on a horse because that fall was not easy good job you are a brilliant rider and my idol I have been riding for 4 years and I hope to be like you soon
Its hard to get back up and face something fearful you did amazing. When I was 21 a horse reared up and over and fell on top of me. Its taken me 30 years to get back in the saddle and I'm taking baby steps!! By degrees fear is conquered 👍well done 👌
I just found your channel this week and my first video was your big fall. I have huge respect and your reaction after the course was real. I really want to start Crosscountry and your videos inspire me.😍
oof! I totally can feel that post scary thing cry! After my last big fall I kept out of the saddle WAY too long and the first time I cantered I had quite the cry afterwards. Glad you can get back at it so quickly and so well. Love the vlogs Ashley :)
You did brilliantly Ash!! To come back out like you have, after such a bad fall, takes guts girl and you have got a bucket load of them! So well done hun and don't be embarrassed about getting upset, it was only natural that your nerves would kick in at some point, but you fought them off like the trooper you are!! Looking forward to seeing your next outing and well done again hun! 😘❤
Great to see you back!! Definitely an 8! So very human to have a bit of a moment after the run with Maximus. The best way to process the fall is to just go through these moments. Have a cry and feel the nerve and the scare and then realise you can move on. Do you ever spend time with a psychologist? In my book a very important part of finding succes.
It really takes guts to come out after such a scary fall and crack back on with it; I just wanted to give you a huge hug when you got emotional after the XC! so lovely how supportive all your family are too. Onwards and upwards, you did brilliantly. X
We're always going to support you ! Through the ruff & smooth!! I am an old rider !! won quite a lot in my time(club Level) Bad Fall broke my back in 2 places ! Luckily still riding my youngster !! Hav'nt ridden the horse that broke my back on.. Yet !!!!! You will ride the Master Zeb again !!! I am sure !!! loving your content and sympathise with your Dad!!
You've done such an incredible job to get back on and go around and absolutely smash it out!! I had a fall after going over a cross pole jump and I havnt jumped since 🤣 (horse turned into a bronc after the jump) I did fracture 2 spots in my neck and stuff up my hands a bit 🤣 but this is making me want to get back out there!
Aww when you got emotional made me well up! I had a bad fall last year & broke my arm so I know how difficult confidence loss is - you’re doing amazing! Xx
Ashley you’re so humble was so amazing is that you got back on and you’re just really so cool I love your dad he’s so funny oh my so great to watch your world ❤️
