Thanks Shane! Hiking into your 60s (and beyond) certainly has its challenges, but as long as you still feel the desire there's no reason to give it up, even if you need to cut back on the miles or stick to easier sections of the trail. I plan to keep on hiking as long as I can still UT one foot in front of the other, and when I do I'll record it to share with folks like you.
It was so good to see you guys!!! So sad that Goldie and Gus had to get off trail so soon! Looking forward to watching the rest of your adventure :-) Love you guys! We will hike as a trail family again someday :-) Sacajawea ❤️Milo ❤️ Bearbait ❤️ Also known as Kronk and Yzma lol
Heck ya! We definitely want to try again in 2023, and are seriously considering giving Oregon another try since we skipped half of it in 2020 (plus we want to enjoy that Timberline Lodge buffet!). Goldie is going to be sending you pics/videos from our 2020 trip as soon as I comb thru all my files for them. BTW, I recently uploaded two more videos of my solo hike from Snoqualmie to Stevens Pass.
How are exciting to be able to pick up where you left off. And you don’t have your pack goats but a nice little pack pup 🐶. You got a much better year to do this. Still fires but much less and in a completely different part. Goldilocks is more beautiful than I remember. So glad to see you both on trail
Thank you Kelly! We were just talking about trying to squeeze in a pack trip with our goat before the weather gets too cold and wet. We are long overdue!
So happy to see you two again! I watched all of your videos in 2020 and really I enjoyed them all. Was a lil sad to see ya leave trail but I understand some things happen. Looking forward to your solo trip. Have fun and be safe out there.
Thank you for the kind words Kim. Very happy to hear you enjoyed our 2020 hike. I really wish we had been able to hike more miles (and make more videos) this summer but...life happens. We'll be back next year!
Hi Roadkill and Goldilocks! So happy to see you guys back out there. I'm Chippy, I met you atop Sonora Pass in 2020 with Fastpack and Switchback. I hiked from White Pass to Snoqualmie Pass (Section I?) back in 2008 and I remember those dang mosquitoes! As you said when we met you, they're assholes! Keep up the good adventure friends, and keep doing epic shit!
Chippy! Great to hear from you, and of course I remember meeting you up on Sonora Pass. You guys saved my life with that stick of salami and other leftovers you donated to this starving hiker! Hope you're still getting some trail miles in every summer. Who knows, maybe we'll cross paths again on some random mountain pass!
Great to see you back! I’ve wondered what happened to you two. My friend Debi and I hiked White Pass to Chinook a couple weeks after you. This was my first “mini section” of the PCT and it was AWESOME! I’ll be back for more. Sorry to hear of your challenges. I’ll watch for your solo vids! Keep on trekking! 😊
Thanks Mark! Although I rarely comment, I actually do watch a lot of your videos. I got a kick out of the one on how to get Spam out of the can, and actually had to give it a try. It worked!
Hey, Ken!! Great to see you back out there! Sad to see Thia's battle... Only got out once this year with T Magic, but there was a nice group at Hart's Pass who sure were surprised to get a cold beer at the end of their journey!! Some of the later ones coming in didn't have much to chose from!!! But I did do a 4500 mile 'roadtrip' thru the SW about a month ago. Fast trip, but I needed to get away for a bit. Did I-90 to Billings, then S to Colorado Springs, and the 'scenic' route to AZ thru Wolf Creek Pass. Visited my brother and a friend in Phoenix a couple days, before hitting S Cali and more friends. Then I-5 N and back home... Hope you managed to get most of the hiking done that you planned,, before the fires hit... Take care.... looking forward to the next installment!! Ed
Hey Ed, good to hear from you! Sounds like you had quite the road trip this summer. We did something similar after Thia's illness disrupted our PCT hike. We took a long road trip thru all the back roads of Idaho. Literally hundreds of miles of single-lane gravel roads thru mountains and forests. Take care, and maybe we'll see you on the trail again next summer.
Good to see you and Goldilocks back on trail. It might have been a good thing Gus came off the trail when he did. Looks like a cougar crossed the trail on your way up Kendall Katwalk? Hope to see more of you guys!
Thanks Floyd! Yes, our decision to bring Gus was, in hindsight, not a great idea and fortunately we were able to get him safely off trail. Part of our decision to bring him was based on the fact that our previous pet, another Blue Heeler named Remington, who was being watched by our son, got sick and ended up dying while we were in the middle of our 2020 thru-hike attempt. We both still feel guilty about that.... More adventures to come once this nasty winter is over, so keep watching!
Hey, nice to see you on the trail again. Too bad your hiking partners had to drop out, but you have to listen to your body. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you! Unfortunately our plans didn't, uh...go as planned. We wanted to hike from Whites Pass to the border, but Goldilocks illness derailed that goal (for now...). But we'll be back!
@@kenthiasoutdooradventures2294 , Hope Goldilocks feels better. It was so nice to see you both out on the trail again. Missed your videos after it was over.
So happy to hear you enjoyed our videos. Even though we didn't get to hike as many miles this summer as we planned, we did enjoy our time out and still have a couple more videos to share in the near future.
How exciting to have a video from the two of you missing you both Tia I no longer have Facebook would love to have a contact info for you much love from Oregon
Hi Mary! Thank you for the kind words. I hesitate to list Thia's contact info in this post because it's not private and anyone can see it. I'll check with her about it.
@@kenthiasoutdooradventures2294 I completely understand Ken, I I was just curious if Thia was still with Hugh and Grace as she had sent me some samples last year and I was hoping to purchase thru her if that is still possible or I can just go to the website🥰
