Newgarden is ridiculously dominant on oval tracks. It would not surprise me at all if he wins 3 in a row next year as well as sweeping the races at Iowa Speedway for a 3rd straight year later this year.
Newgarden baby!! Fantastic race! He is the best in the ovals in Indy right now. He is pretty good on road courses. I would be very amused if he overcomes the penalty and still wins the points race.
Yeah they stuck around...when you spend that kind of money for an event your not going anywhere...ai have been down at the speedway when we had rain delays and I told my kids were not leaving until they call the race...me and my kids left Fort Wayne Indiana at 3:00am to get our spot on the spectators mounds...we planned for 11 months for this day..we are going to tuff it out and Indy has never failed to thrill...I have so many great memories going down on race mornings.. being some of the first fans to go into the speedway when the cannon went off.. watching the sun rise and watching the stands fill up during the course of the morning... cheering for the Purdue band as they made there way around the track... having the bagpipers playing right by where we were sitting at...And I could go on and on with the great memories....🏎️🏎️🏎️
There is no passing at Monaco. That street course is just too narrow. The only way to gain positions is in the pit or if someone retires from the race.
Really depends on what form of racing and where the race is being held. But in Indycar at the 500, it's very tough to do. There are a million factors that go into everything throughout the 2 weeks of practice and qualifying (And off-season of preparing the car)...not even counting the crazy stuff that goes on in the race, some of which may not even be in your control. Heck you may be running the best race of your life then your engine could blow lol The last time someone went back to back was 01-02. It's only happened a few times in the 100+ runnings of this race.
Hopefully two weeks ago was a lesson to everyone in the world no futbol no baseball no golf and even no hockey and basketball just watch the crown jewel events of Auto Racing like the Daytona 500 and send stupid Super Bowl Cup to the pay per view and non televised for the sake of the beloved race fans all around the world.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
F1 is an entirely diffferent sport even though it looks the same to the meathead football fans. Several guys in indycar could strap into one and be basically on the pace in a season or two like Palou, Newgarden, Herta. But they stand ZERO point Zero chance going head to head versus Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Lando, Charles. The cream of the crrop in F1 are just on an entirely different level and have been basically built in a labrotory since age 8 to be Formula One geniuses.
What a ridiculous statement. If you put verstappen in the Williams the rest of the season he would very likely never finish in the points and certainly would not compete for the podium. F1 elitist fans are so delusional. F1 drivers come to Indycar all the time and do absolutely nothing. McLaren brought Fernando Alonso to the Indy 500 and could not even qualify for the race!
You know that the F2 Champ from last year isn't even going to get a shot at F1 and is joining Indycar. He has been groomed from birth to be a F1 legend according to what you had wrote. I can't wait to see him win the next few Indycar Championships with ease!
@@xtlmyou do realize the reason drivers who don’t get a shot at F1 from F2 isn’t because of their driving abilities or lack of. The politics and what you bring to a team beyond your ability has more influence of getting a seat. Always has been that way. There’s been dozens of F1 racers who switched to Indycar and faded away. Including champions. There has also been a an f1 champion or two who have excelled. But to think a Dixon, Herta, Newgarden or a Palou couldn’t compete in f1 with the car that a Hamilton or Verstappen has and be hella competitive and win once they understand the machine… , then you are nothing more than a fan boi who knows zero about racing. Zero. You’re an idolator. As well those who thumb up you. But, comparing Monaco or any road racing of any series to The 500 is ridiculous. The racing of road /street racing is vastly different than oval.
@@Indycarfanatic2024 Picking one F1 driver who attempted to qualify for one Indycar race does not mean they do absolutely nothing. Marcus Ericsson, Takuma Sato, Alexander Rossi, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nigel Mansell, Alex Zinardi, Jim Clark, Graham Hill all were in F1 before coming to Indycar. There are also a few drivers on the current grid who were Test drivers for F1 teams before moving to Indycar. There have also been some Indycar drivers to go to F1 and have success. Also, considering Verstappen obliterated Albon when they were teammates, it is extremely fair to say Verstappen would most like be in the points considering Albon has been very close to point finishes this year and even picked up 2 points in monaco.
In modern times, no American has done well in F1 but Mario Andretti did win the 1978 F1 WDC. If you want to include Canada & Mexico (as they are North American) then you got Jacques Villeneuve who won the 1997 F1 WDC and Sergio Perez who has a hand full of wins in Modern F1.
