Funny how I know this, but eyeball it most of the time over the years. I often use a quarter inch difference b/w the layers, esp if I am using a background card stock that is a special interest to the recipient of the card. Either way, I enjoyed your video and how nicely and professionally you spoke.
Here in Australia we have different size cardstock which I've used for years A4. This last year I've been mainly using the American size as the measurements are so much easier to cut etc, and layering dies etc don't really work on our standard card size because most dies are for American usage.
