Kaya Mulberry comes from a family who owns a long-running horse ranch in Chestnut Ridge. Growing up, she never liked being in the company of horses and loathed doing any of the chores of living on a ranch. Her sister Kwanita, on the other hand, loved life on the ranch and decided she’d take over the family business.
Kaya’s family supported her decision to move to Oasis Springs and chase her dream of becoming a personal trainer; someone was there to look after the ranch when they were gone, after all.
She’d visit Chestnut Ridge from time to time and even more when her mother passed, but she was content with the life she had carved out in Oasis Springs.
But recently, her sister has gotten married and plans to take a honeymoon to Sulani this Autumn, and with their father too old to work the ranch, they have no one to care for it whilst she is away.
Alas, Kaya must go back to her hometown and the horses to watch and care for the ranch whilst Kwanita is away.
Will Kaya learn to love the animals and place she grew up with? Or will this Autumn be the most infuriating one she’s ever had? Welcome back, Kaya, to Chestnut Ridge.
