I really miss when the grim reaper was his own character, when he used to show compassion and sweetness towards pets that passed, it would be nice if he could give the horses a little stroke on the flank to reap them
For anybody wondering, the controllable pet mode partially work with horses. You can see their needs but some of interaction, mainly the jumping training, doesn't have text.
I also used the mod and you can use the old one as is! I think the mod doesn't really provide new features, but rather unlocks the "lock" that doesn't let you control pet
@@jadeayla7548 The old mod. The mod is pretty much abandoned with the last update was around Get Famous. I tried it with Horse and it's still function to some extent. There's no text in the pie menu but the action still function but that mainly for the new interaction only, such as training.
In The Sims 3 which is like 10 years old you got horses with cats and dogs, a big world, interactive competitions, the ability to control them etc meanwhile the successor, after 9 years gets less in an expansion focused on it at the price of an expansion pack💀
yeah but if u ignore the rest of the content, the horses are better here in sims 3 the animals all of then, dogs/cats nad horses, had horrible autonomy system they almost did nothing alone, only cared for the needs, sims 2 and 4 animals do muhc more stuff without you controlling then.
I like the horses in the Sims 3 more. You could controll them, make individual races and so on. You could watch how you where performing in a race, the unicorns really had something special and the wild horses gave the right flavor. You could have horses everywhere! So yeah.... I am sticking with Sims 3 thank you EA
i did not like that we coud control then because the AI was bad, they barely did anything alone only cared for the needs, sims 2 and sims 4 animals does much more sstuff without you controlling then. but i agree with the unicoorn, in the end any person have they own preferences and tastes.
I’ve have played the sims 3 pet’s and let me tell you Sims 4 cats and dogs are the best! And from seeing the video about horses they are better than the sims 3, so yeah and also the unicorn stuff kinda boring because not much you can do with them either just they had magic that’s it. But again to each their own
I never played Sims 4 because I loved the open World of 3. But some aspects are better that is true. The occults as an example but I would love to see a mixture of 3 and 4 (The openworld and less rabitholes from 3 (and for me the ability to controll everything) and some of the Packs from 4. That would be the greatest Sims Game.)
@@iwonder1988 In S4 the cats and dogs never interact with other pets. To me they feel like lifeless objects while in S3 they do so much on their own. In S3 they build up friendships and enemies with other animals & sims, they go hunting, come to your sims to get attention and doing mischief all of their own. In S4 all they do is laying and trotting around, shit, eat and sleep of their own. They don't interact with other animals or sims. They are just there.
Did you know?: Foals aren't born with hooves. They have claws called "fairy feet" that don't damage the mothers uterine wall (which hooves would) and harden a few hours after birth. Which is why it's not well known outside of horse communities.
From my research it's a covering over their hooves. I haven't seen one IRL but have seen photos and it's larger than their hooves once they are born. It's actually an adaptation that all hooved mamals use to avoid killing their mother before birth. Which makes me also wonder what animals with non retractable claws (e.g. dogs) do to avoid injuring their mothers.
I'm glad the competition is a rabbit hole. The game is so wonky it would take 2 hours for the sim to go to the starting line just to jump off the horse's back last minute to do push-ups and miss the whole race...
I really like the graphics style of horses, they don't need to be ultra realistic to look good But my problem with horses in sims 4 here is genetics, it's basically a copy of mother or father, no mixing coats, that's why I like sims 3 horses more, even with buggy path finding and weird genetics sometimes~
They really should have made wild horses spawn in words of horse ranch but also cottage living (very often), and maybe on rere ocasions Salvadorada, word of cats end dogs Willow Creek, Newcrest and maybe sulani
Thank you for the video! You're one of the few active channels left that I trust to go into detail without wasting time or adding unnecessary stuff. The horses and foals are so cute ; ; Also I NEED the build buy objects! Really, I like everything this pack has... but I'm still going to wait until it's a solid 50% off. Otherwise I know I'll regret it later, and this feels a bit more like a game pack so far anyway. But it's a step up! I haven't bought any expansions since Snowy Escape bc they all seemed so underwhelming and uninteresting (looking at you, HSY and Growing Together. I am considering the cottage one tho, if only to go along with this when I eventually buy it)
Can horses become familiars to spellcasters if Realm of Magic is installed? Also with Cottage Living, does the Animal Enthusiast trait do anything for horses, or is it pointless when you already have the Horse Lover trait?
Wow so realistic that horses can go inside your home just like real life when any animals of all kinds of sizes can go inside your home so long they find a way inside even if it's very cramped for them!
Everyone is praising or critiquing stuff and I'm just wondering why they put so much effort into the pee and poop animation... Yes it's realistic, did *that* of all things need to be though I worked at a stable, and lemme say Horse girls are gonna love this...
Honestly, I love the sims 4, don’t get me wrong, but I remember being SOOOOOO excited when The Sims 3 Pets came out, and how thrilled I was to be playing with horses, and I just don’t get that same thrill with the Sims 4 horses. It may be because I’m a few years older now or because I just overall lost the interest in the Sims a bit, but I still love playing with Horses in sims 3. It’s sad that this pack didn’t really manage to live up to my expectations (my wallet is rlly happy abt it tho). It just doesn’t feel like they’re a huge improvement, and I feel like the gameplay is a bit dull compared to TS3. Also it makes me really mad that horses got their own expansion pack, didn’t come with the other pets, but still seem so shallow compared to TS3
I LOVE this pack. SO far I have a sim who has a champ horse who is a pain the the rump lol so needy that I bought to train. I then wanted to rescue others to train and adopt out after I go them so far up. I have had better luck with the rescue ones. as I got 3 rescues. they were SO easy even with their tempers lol. Then I bought one that was supposed to be mellow and friendly an OMG it was just as needy as my champ horse lol. That dont mean I wont run into a hard one to train but so far I am liking the working with the rescue ones. over all I am loving the pack.
While not perfect, at least child sims can RIDE horses in 4. That used to bother me in 3! They're also less of a pain in the arse than they were in 3 too. It was nice to see them interact with all the cottage living animals too, seeing them be friendly with the cows and lamas was nice. There is a glitch with the mini goats & sheep in regards to selling them so just be aware to not buy too many you can't get rid of! My daughter found out the hard way😅
To be honest, I actully prefer the use of rabbit holes as compared to "real" races, competitions etc. There is so much to do with the horses in this pack (especially training) and it gets overwhelming really fast if you're playing with a normal Sim family with kids and maybe even other pets. I prefer for my sims to go to a rabbit hole so I can focus on other members of the family (e.g. gardening and thus nectar making) or just the everyday gameplay with kids, careers etc. I think the devs actually did a really good job incorporating horses into a normal gameplay, I think they found a nice balance between active and passive gameplay for the horses. Sure it maybe sucks when you're only playing with one sim without a social life and what not but otherwise it would get really overwhelming with time. A massive pro of this pack for me is the world building. Not only how pretty it all is but the sheer amount of interactable items around the world and pretty much the whole landscaping around the lots. That way even the smallest lots feel way bigger than any of the smaller lots in another worlds. I'm not a horse girl whatsoever, I wasn't even really all that excited when they announced a horse pack but I've got to admit it's really great. My two champion horses just had a baby and it's honestly the cutest thing ever 🥰 Also the animations in this pack are top tier. Overall, I'm happy with it 😊
A little concerned about how often the horses lie down to rest. Usually horses only do that if they feel incredibly safe (and even then, they need to have a particularly trusting personality and good upbringing), or if they are very, very sick. I don't know how they'd determine whether the horses should stand or lie down to sleep (maybe only if they are calm or happy?) but I hope they give more weight to standing.
You have to remember that these aren't horses. They're going to behave like an idealized dog. The programmers don't have any idea of what animals actually are like, they're locked in a basement and told to rig some 3D models as cheaply as possible. The result is going to have unnatural behavior.
Was you riding the horse in willow creek? So they are able to go to other worlds? Wonder if you can take them to selvarado? I know I spelled it wrong. I still feel like cottage living and this pack should've been combined without being water down.
You can take them on vacation! And you can own them anywhere except city living apartments. It’s actually much more like cats and dogs than cottage living. There are some similarities but it does feel like a very different pack from CL to me.
The foals are very cute even though you cannot ride them they are a lot of fun to look after. It is a lot like cats and dogs but I think the horses are better.. definitely than the cat. It just feels lovely to have them. I warm to them immediately.
Love your videos. Even though I've sort of given up on The Sims 4. I hope that The Sims 5 will make me interested again. I've been a fan since the very first game in 2000 so I don't like being a bit tired of it. 😜
Well I am glad for this pack. Got myself a way more entertaining fertilizer source than fishing. 😆 My two main families, a kind-hearted painter who rescued an old, asocial horse and his plant-loving, asocial younger brother, now exchange manure for jams. 😅
... For those who want their chickens/mini goats/sheep to be contained and also don't want horses in their house... stairs. As in elevate your home enough so you have to add some and for the area with the goats/sheep... don't use a gate (... the 'lock for' function didn't work for me.. outside of for the foal at least)....but instead add a balcony beside the home + stairs as the only entrance/exit of the area they're contained. .... As this does require the horses to be in their own area (and you definitely need a gate for them...)... having a second horse/foal is a very good idea. Or well; I found it easier at least.
Thanks for making this video. There's quite a lot to the horses and I'm looking forward to getting the pack. I don't mind that the competitions are rabbit holes. I think if we could go in and see them, there wouldn't be as many options for competitions to enter and I'd probably get bored watching the same thing over and over that I could just make them do at home. Have you had the chance to try the mini sheep and mini goats? I'd like to know whether there are any major glitches with them before I get the pack.
i think i have a real good idea of what am going to do first in this expansion, if you thinking i will use the horse to shit in the neighbor's house you are kinda right... but it was not really the first idea in my head, I will put my horse resting in peace in the game to honor her in a way. I think this expansions already looks good for a early access.👍
If you placed one place of chicken, mini sheep and mini goat. The door fences is useless to lock them, the chicken, mini sheep or mini goat can leave your house 😂
Ohhh! the whistle in the pic. Why has no one has ever mentioned that before? So glad my sims won't be stepping in enormous piles of poop in San Myshuno. Thanks.
The pack is 40 Dollars in my country... EA has no shame I personally think these horses are a huge downgrade then the Sims 3 version. Thanks for all the Infos! ^^ Edit: The playing with the ball animation is the same as in the Sims 3 or is that just me?
Wasn’t the competitions in sims 3 rabbit holes? Besides that it looks great and cas alone wins, the horses are amazing and the mini goat and sheep are so cute 🥰 I’m looking forward to this when I’m able to buy it thanks for sharing.
There are also some others, like horses can get scared of thunderstorms, new milestones, getting usable wool and milk from goats if you have cottage living, etc.
atleast the animal AI and autonomy is much superior in the sims 4, on the sims 3 if you don't control the animals they almost never did anything alone, apart from taking care of the needs x
people say Agnes ex-husband was called Robert so did he fake his death? my is theory remember the sims 4 is alternative time bella goth isnt miss he didnt dy but instead divorced agnes if look at the traits they relateship could never work because he is romancity and good while she is unflirty and mean
Does anyone also have a horse with handiness skill?? My horse needs help to complete this skill otherwise he cant enter the Master Horse Competition😂😭😭
To be realistic, most dog and cat veterinary practices are not set up/equipped to deal with horses. Your equine vet would more likely be a mobile practice that would come to your lot.
