Take TWO C-60 Maxell XL-II S tapes! They roughly have a bit over 63 minutes playing time per piece, so there you have your 2h06m of playing time... but why not take an open reel recorder like an Akai GX-747, or a Technics RS-1500US or a Teac X-2000R, set tape speed at 9,5cm/s and take a good quality 10,5" tape? A real studio tape (50µm thickness) will give you 2h12m of playing time this way, a long play tape (35µm thick) like the Maxell XL-1 will even give you over 3 hours! Now THAT is 80s!!
Revisiting the 80s isn't just a trip down memory lane; it's a journey back to the future. The vibrant and groundbreaking essence of that era remains a timeless blueprint for what we envisioned the future to be. Its retro-futuristic charm and innovative spirit continue to shape our imagination of what's yet to come, echoing a sense of nostalgia that propels us forward into a futuristic realm.
I only discovered Synthwave a few years ago but I'm hooked. I grew up in the 80's so that era holds a lot of special memories for me with music and films in particular
The music perfectly complements the visuals, creating a captivating and immersive experience. Each track is thoughtfully chosen, enhancing the story and bringing the video to life in a unique way. The soundtrack adds depth and emotion, making every moment more engaging and unforgettable.
@@Stormy2142 We didn't have to deal with the logistic hell of milisecond communcations across the world. The music was happier, there wasn't COVID which did a lot to the current generation, and did more damage than vietnam to people. People weren't addicted to technology, there was some economic suffering during the 80s but it is not as bad as the 2007 recession, Housing was cheaper, and the govt didnt want your rights as much. Also corporations couldn't squeeze as much from people.
I've never completely loved the sound of every single track on one of these long playlists... Until now. Yah, I'm a Gen-X, and discovering this sound is great. Gives me hope and happiness. Can't get enough.
Megadrive definitely has their own sound in the synth genre, can always tell when it's one of their tracks. Makes me feel like I'm in 1984 Terminator or something...

"Even now fight to survive somewhere, beyond the heavens..." 45:38 I had to rewind and listen to that line a few times to believe they really used the line from the old BattleStar Galatica intro. The nostalgia is real in this mix! Thank you!!!
These sounds are incredibly emotional, overflowing with a sense of nostalgia that perfectly captures the spirit of the 80s. Each beat and melody feels like a journey back in time, stirring up memories and feelings from that iconic era. It’s as if the music itself holds a piece of that past, making it impossible not to be moved. 🎶🌌
I feel like scarface driving nightrider while fighting deceptocons and along with thundercats and Voltron and Gi joe telling me Knowing is half the battle YAAAAAAS!
This is the perfect concept of "back to the future", This electronic music was said by the 80's musicians to be "the sound of the future" but it's been lost in time by he general public, and now it's being picked up by younger indie artists to pay omage to the music of that era, literally taking us back to the music that was the sound of the future, taking us "back to the future".
What an incredible choice of music for this video! The soundtrack enhances the mood and atmosphere, making the visuals even more impactful. Each track is thoughtfully chosen, creating a brilliant audio-visual combination that captivates the audience. The music adds depth and emotion to the story, making it more engaging and memorable. It’s a truly remarkable selection that showcases excellent curation and enhances the overall impact of the video.
Well i can help you? (ps i never actually played hotline miami) 1. Get a car 2. Go to Miami 3. Get high asf and shot people 4. You did it! 5. I should really stop.... 6. Nah :D
Not with that ugly stancing though. You need to lower camber and get normal rims ASAP, otherwise it's not very driveable, especially not with those afterburners.
Nací en el año 1977,y tengo gustos variados de música pero esta música me encanta, muchas gracias por hacer que esta música maravillosa nos alegre el día a día.
Ah, the 80s, a decade that resonates with an ineffable charm, a time that seems to have lingered in our hearts far beyond its years. Its vivacious spirit, colorful pop culture, and revolutionary advancements in technology and music cast a perpetual spell that many wish had continued indefinitely. The era encapsulated an infectious energy and an unmistakable sense of freedom and possibility that we often find ourselves longing for. Its vibrant legacy continues to inspire, leaving a lasting imprint that yearns for a revival, echoing an era that seems to have ended too soon.
Este mix es uno de los que mas me gusta. No solo por lo musical, sino que además siempre lo escucho al estudiar las últimas etapas de una materia. me sirve para enfocarme... genial¡¡¡¡¡¡
It took me 20 minutes into this before I realized the counter in the top left hand corner. In my defense, I was preoccupied by jamming out to these righteous tunes.
I love your retro synth mixes so much. I have needed these in my life for so long after being a fan of so many retro soundtracks since the early 80's like in Robocop, Terminator, and the like. Turbo Kid, Kung Fury, and so many other soundtracks are my heart and soul, and these compilations perfectly fit my love for synth and retro tracks. Thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up, and subscribed all the way! :D
aaron the 80s man for those who lived it they lived it like any other time but looking back at it, it was truly the human peak everything was so stylish
Mr. MOTORMASTER I was born in 75 but consider myself an 80s kid. 80s children unite! :) This music takes me back. Makes me think of 80s dance clubs with fog & crazy lights going all over the place.
Thanks for the channels you put together. I play these all day at work. It's the perfect work music because every day is like a montage in an 80s Sci-Fi movie. Also, my 8 year old loves this music.
this is so calming for me, i listen to this and im wisked away into a futuristic city where aliens walk the streets but they are as peaceful as you or me
Cars from that era were slow as shit. After the early 70's performance cars went downhill due to regulations until the late 90's. But got way better after the 2010's Supras were straight up garbage until the MK4. And the MK4 was average at best unless heavily modded putting in tens of thousands into it. JDM cars are cringe anime, Fast and Furious wanna be garbage for teenage kids. German, Italian, and American are true performance cars. From italian Supercars, to Hellcats, to BMW's(supras), to the badass GT500s, and the almighty Audis, Corvettes, and ZL1s. May true beast cars reign forever world and strike down cringe JDM trash.
Listening to this again , being born in '76 brings out the inner child in me again. Just about every city in the '80s downtown had an arcade. Nostalgia is where I'm at
That Lamborghini Countach sort of looks like what would have been the "Back to the Future" Car if they decided to use the Countach instead of the Delorean.
The Countach was the flagship model for Lamborghini from 74 to 90. It reached the zenith of its popularity in the 80s and actually underwent dramatic visual redesigns over the years such that the late 80s version looked nothing like the 70s version. It was peak 80s -- big style, big flares, big fun. Gotta get your Doug Demuro game on point :-P
1000% of this particular musical trip you've managed to put together here is like, so far out to the point of being Beyond tubular, broski(s?)! Talk about an audial flashback 😎
I am only 18 years old i cannot even know how beatifull or hurtfull 80’ been but i know i want se that times and this tipe of music is just something for me, perfekt chill
