You can tell the people that criticise her by today's standards don't do much thinking......... Brandi was ALLOWED to be extra, she was really young and designers loved her. You think they would let other young fresh girls be this extra? The fact she was in the famous Versace SS 1995 show with the greats of her time tells you all you need to know.
It kills me when they do that. The 90s were a different time. Supermodels WERE the stars. They were adored for their personalities and individuality. The designers loved their energies and what they brought to the collections that's why they were there. The models these days are walking hangers.
oh yeah i even vaguely remember someone saying how back then fashion shows were very much intimate, to the point where Inès de La Fressange would just walk down the runway and sometimes stop and chat with the people. i don't remember where i've heard this from though... but i know i didn't dream of it
She wasn’t extra she had was a big personality ❤️ today because some designers feel threatened by the previous model generation they make sure that don’t happens again
She was so breathtakingly beautiful! Perfect from head to toe! Even though she was just a shooting star compared to the rest of her peers, we all still remember her. She was so unique. Nobody looked or even walked like her!
she definitely stood out from the other supermodels . She was also really young , being 16 and walking alongside Linda , Naomi , Karen , Shalom. I believe it was the Versace SS 1995 where shalom bumps Into her in the runway , and Linda Evangelista almost trips in the Chloe show in 1995 because of Brandis fierce walk if that’s not iconic I don’t know what is.
When Brandi made the scene the doors were blown off. She could be, and was, anything. And everything: sultry, pin-up, gamine, feisty, calm, cool, collected etc, etc, etc. Her exotic looks made her a designer staple...for the moment. But she was entirely her own presence.
No way, maybe that's why she was not seen so much on the runway & in print like other models. Hell, this clip is less than 4 minutes. When I saw the length of it, I thought seriously, this is the most they could have done. I guess I know why now, probably they genuinely could not find anymore.
RC you've done it again! Thank you for shining light on another runway queen! Brandi is such a beautiful woman. A little extra wit it, but she at least shows how the outfits 'moves' on the body. I'm sure she was told on many occasion to 'bring it down some' by designers. No matter what she is or was dealing with back then I hope she is well now and still looks fierce.
.....i thought she was truly a bit extra... but...i always saw her with the rest of the supermodels ...meaning the designers LIKED her..so ...she obviously BELONGED there...you couldnt help but notice her...she wasnt doing anything WRONG..so more power to her...
she would've fit right into the early 2000s cuz she kind of had the vibrant and energetic aura that they had and her walk was also pretty good when it's toned down a bit... AAANNNND her face and body, henny 😍
Yes! Work queen. Oh my, I can't believe that I forgot Brandi Quinones. She was so young, and in demand. I remember being on photo shoot and a model was talking about this new model, and how she felt that "her" time on the runways were over. Yikes!!!
@@juliannabigfootpena4284 you’d be surprised, there was a period of time where Brandi was EVERYWHERE, between 1993-1995 she was in every campaign it was crazy. But she unfortunately got into drugs and went on hiatus.
@@TCS938 it was really bad, she was homeless for a period of time and doing hard class A drugs like cocaine. She was arrested for cocaine possession back in 2004 but she’s doing much better for herself now. www.lipstickalley.com/threads/what-ever-happened-to-90s-fashion-model-brandi-quinones.616418/ it’s hard to find anything on it but this forum talks about what happened to her. You can also just search it up
I had to find out who this girl is because her walk is amazing, it shows so much character. Why the hell are people trashing it? It’s much more interesting than a lifeless walk. If the model has personality then she makes the clothes look better too.
Brandi is beautiful. I remember seeing her bounce down the runway & thought OMG, is she ok , 😂. Then the other day a clip was on 1 of the insta pages, when I looked her up I saw that she was still doing fashion.
I heard she was supposed to be in Victoria secret. I wondered what it would be like if she was in the same room with Adriana Lima. Since they’re both exotic beauties. Matter in fact imagine if yasmeen ghauri and Adriana Lima were in the same room.
@@addison7624 yasmeen was already a Victoria secret angel in the 90s. It was rumored brandi was supposed to be in Victoria secret but don’t know what happen with that.
@@addison7624 - Yasmeen was a VS girl. She was on the cover of the catalog a few times. Brandi was supposed to be in VS but when she didn’t show up at casting…guess who got the call? Tyra Banks.
Bring back the models being allowed to have fun on the catwalk a little bit! I almost never see that now...just gals walking. Might be why we have so few "super"models now.
Not really feeling her walk. Compared to Marpessa, Anna Bayle, Dalma and Katoucha. Brandi's walk was way too much. Pat Cleveland was also over but Pat only did it if the vibe calls for a quirky, fun walk. Brandi was one of the most beautiful back girls of her time but she had no grace at all, to be honest. Like when someone is making a parody of how it is to walk the runway. Really sorry.
@@GoldPhish like a puppett with two puppeteers. I thought it’s probably because of the samba in her veins but then the essence of grace herself, Dalma comes to mind. Dalma is Brasilian, too.
@@GoldPhish you’re right, she’s Puerto Rican/Sicilian ( and I always thought she was from Brasil! ) Still, she moves a lot too much when she walks, IMO. May have been fun to watch initially but those exaggerated hip swings got old. She had one of the shortest catwalk careers compared to her contemporaries.
