If I moved as fast as you do removing the snow blower, installing the bucket or cutting up fallen trees, I’d have no problem sleeping! I have 3 sure fires to fall asleep: listening to ambient music or episodes of Keillor’s Lake Woebegone. In the rare case that those don’t work, reading some of my old college text books are guaranteed anesthetics.
Thanks. I have over 100 books that I need to catch up with. I bought lots of them but lost interest in reading most of them. I can surely fall asleep super fast. My wife tells me that I fall asleep in about a minute. That's record fast. My problem is staying asleep. I wake up at 2, 3, 4 am on most days and then it's a struggle going back to sleep, if at all. But I like your idea of listening to ambient music because it does work for many people and my wife listens to it during the day. I tried that and ambient sea and rain sounds many years ago but it didn't work for me. I still have the machine that makes those sounds.
Este gallo es el Jefe. And he's a sneaky one. He tries to attack me from behind every other day. So, I am keeping an eye on him. But that's OK, I want him to be mean. He is the protector of the flock.
Thanks Jimmy. I tried that many years ago but to no avail. However, I have made a change with the help of my wife starting a few days ago. I now only drink one small cup of coffee at 7 am, and no more. I've gone cold turkey a few times over that last ten years but that didn't work too well. This time I will wean myself off slowly.
Ovi, I am the exact same way. 4 or 5hrs. My pattern started years ago. I would work in that body shop till 12 - 1 am then shower, and get up at 4:30 to be in Clifton Park at a construction site. When my father got sick I gave up the shop and rented it to James Chevrolet. That was in 2006. Although James has moved out a long time ago I still don’t do much at the shop. My point being I still haven’t been able to break that sleeping pattern. I must say, I certainly don’t have a problem falling asleep initially. I remember as clear as day shortly before I gave the shop up falling asleep in Clifton Park while I was operating a backhoe! And I’m not even going to tell you how many times I dozed off driving home on 147 in Galway back then! I don’t put that many “working “ hours in anymore, so I don’t have those issues, but I still can’t get more than 5 hrs of sleep.
Just like you Aaron, I fall asleep very fast but the problem is staying asleep. It may be that we suffer from some vitamin or mineral deficiency. Have you tried eating sauerkraut before bed, maybe 3 to 4 tablespoons? I have and sometimes it works and I can get 6 to 7 hours without waking up but it's hit or miss. Also, people with gastrointestinal disorders can suffer from insomnia. I will look into that.
@@oviduran you may be onto something. I have had Gastro issues my whole life. I just figured my sleeping patterns was from the past when I worked like a fool lol. But you may be correct. There might be something more to it.
for gastro issues I have been taking sauerkraut right before bed. I've also tried tart cherry juice and sweet potatoes for dinner. I believe my issue is all gastro and what to eat and what not to eat. But the one thing I recommend will always be a good quality sauerkraut right before bed. It's worth a try. Walmart has the flavored sauerkraut, but those do nothing. Get the pure type from some other store. I get mine at the Navy commissary or health food store.
Thanks for the tip Billy. I may have to take the bucket off again in a month or two and will inspect it then. I just did a little research because of your tip and there are some people on RU-vid and elsewhere with similar issue and possible fixes.
Ovi you want to know how to sleep like a baby at night well here is the remedy. Make your peace with God pray before you go to bed ask him forgive of your sins and praise his name and the peace of God shall rule your heart,
Thanks for the tip, but I am against the use of cannabis. It is like alcohol, gets you high for one day and that's it. I will still have the same problem the next day. I am looking for a more natural permanent solution. But thanks.
