A few people have been asking me to do a break down video on my 1970 Chevy Nova, so here it is! I had fun making this video, I hope I answered you’re question, and hopefully I covered everything. Thanks for watching!
Esto es algo realmente bueno, especialmente con las cosas pequeñas como el tablero de instrumentos y los faros y luces traseras que no ves a muchos CHEVY NOVA en la calle, muy buen trabajo, amigo.
I like it man! I am looking at a 71 with a 6.0 LS2 already in it. There's this part of me that wants an older car to be period correct with the engine like a carbed 327 or 350, but I've had LS1 cars and an 05 Vette with an LS2 so like the reliability and platform to work on for these engines. Not that it should matter, it's your car to do with what you please, but I want to ask if you've had folks knock on your car for it not having an older or crate engine. I'm old school but know some of the purists get tired of seeing these swaps. For me it's our cars to do with what we please...we're the ones driving them. Blessings man!
Awesome video man..you got me thinking about deleting my booster as well, I'm in the middle of getting my 67 Camaro on the street. I have the classic update harness and some brake work to do. Car came with 3 boosters and a wilwood master cylinder.
Yo, yo, yo!!.. That's what's up! bro! rockin' dat good old school Funk track (Knee Deep) goes perfect with you rolling down the boulevard / block, & btw... that's one mean lean clean azz..stance 70 Nova, u & your bro. did a great job on restoring it, with the 5.3 LS swap, love the rims and the black matted paint job looks great... and let me tell you, you are all business! to finish that project in 3 months, as you know it can take a couple years to do a project like that! Outstanding work...I'm impressed!✌👍👍
This is crazy close the build I'm about to start. I had a 350 block machined to be a 383 stroker conversion but after going to so many car shows and seeing so many classic cars with period correct setups that never get driven hard I've felt the need to go the more resto mode route
I think I saw you driving down the 105 one time. Made me break my neck not gonna lie lol that cowl hood goes crazy 👌👌 good look of the car overall. Love old school muscle
Got a good setup I like that I would get a limited-slip instead of posi rear like maybe 373 gears or something like that for open Highway and Street strip because driving down the street with a posi hard turning and cutting up the tires
sup bro nice nova! Just curious how the ride is with the ridetech coil overs? smooth ride or bumpy? Thinking of ordering soon but torn by shockwaves or coilovers.
nice ride bro! i have a 71 nova im getting ready for paint ... then ima swap a 5.7 ls1 aluminum block that i have ready for rebuild .. just researching the best way to do so
sweet car my dude, soooo low tho! i couldn't believe how many pans you have gone through. gotta go up with the powertrain id say, cause the ride height dont want to be sacrificed. i like the breakdown on the parts man. im just starting my 69 nova ls build also.
Bro just seeing your channel now awesome work my man. Something to be said about a daily driver and not 💯 show car. Is your paint a flat black or just back?
Function over Form , I prefer the way you built this nova. especially like the stance. Just a cool looking nova. So it sits on full ride tech ? How is the ride ? How much did all this cost to build ? I’ve got mine that still needs body work. It’s a forever project of mine.
Yeah bro, full Ridetech suspension. Rides great, solid and no body roll, very stiff. It cost a lot hahaha. Take your time and build it right bro, good luck with your build 👊🏼
you said your running the original drive shaft just got it shorten but what yoke are you using to connect that 4l60 to the drive shaft? asking cause my 71 nova ls build is in the works and ive been wondering about that would really appreciate any help bro
Did you get tubs in the back? If not, any rubbing? How bout that front, any rubbing when turning with those 18s? I got a 71 down here in San Diego, but I bought it from a dude in Pacoima. Cheers
Nope, nothing done in the rear, the wheels fit and one side does rub a bit. And the front wheel will hit the frame if I turn all the way. Thanks bro, good luck with your 71 👊🏼
I'm the average pedro doing some sketchy shit n my cars and i was wondering something, o got an old 70ltd with the 351w and i got an old 2000 chevy silverado with the 5.3 what if i decided to swap them? How hard it would be, talking bout the mounting
Nice 70 dad and i are doing his 72 as a pro street its backhalfed and tubbed with 31” under it doing body now doors and fenders are giving us fitment issues bc 72 was only year they welded door hinges to piller no adjustment what so ever
a fredo how are those hedman headers when it comes to installing or dropping the starter do they interfere and make it a pain or is there enough clearance to do both easily
No problem at all bro, there’s good clearance on that side, the other side I did have the beat up a bit to clear the steering box. Have the install them coming up from the bottom of the car
@@BackYardYonkes Damn so it wasnt a clean install then huh i didnt want to have to beat anything because i was gunna go with the ceramic coated 1s for my nova and didnt want them looking all dented but will see on the driver side did you have to beat the #1 tube or #2 tube to clear the steering box
It was very minor denting but I think it’s because I have slider motor mounts and I pulled the engine as far back to firewall as possible. Off the top of my head I believe it’s the second
@@BackYardYonkes yup i have those same mounts too bro but i appreciate the replies frfr headers are definetly next on my list just trying to decide which 1s to get its between these or the holley hooker 1s not sure
When I got my 75 Vega, it had half of a pair of wire strippers in place of the turn signal lever. I filed it to fit a little better and left it. Goofy stuff like that is part of what make project cars fun 😂
Hell yeah Alfredo 💯 do you have an instagram I can follow you at and get in contact with? I just bought a 71 Ventura about 5 months ago it’s pretty much the exact same thing as a nova just different front lights and rear lights it’s got the 350 sbc just like you used to but plan on upgrading I came here from Four Speed Films I seen you mentioned back yard yonkes had to stop by definitely inspiring man 🙌🏽 Keep it coming with the footage you get
