I ran into an uncommon issue with my board's battery. On one ride, at below 25% battery on the board (possibly around 10%), the remote and board disconnected and the board turned off. As far as I know this has happened to at least one other person. If your battery has this issue, Backfire should replace your battery.
I advise everyone to ride slow and avoid traffic when your battery is at less than 25%. This has happened to me on another prototype board from another brand, so my advice is for anyone with any electric skateboard.

By the way, if you want to disable the lights, just disconnect the small cable coming from the ESC. I like the lights, but only because I don't ride in turbo all the time.

I am glad that they adjusted the way turbo works. I have a G2t and I love it but the implementation of turbo like you said could have been better. I applaud @Backfire for creating boards to fit rider preferences.

This is my favorite review of the G3. You're very informative and educational while also having a sense of humor w/out going off on tangents. I have subscribed and will be scrolling thru your channel for other reviews. Thanks so much! The ONE THING I need to know the most - and no one else is covering it either - is "How well does [ X brand / model ] board handle "bad" roads?" I live in a very rural setting and the roads are NOT all smooth concrete or asphalt. There will be rocks and twigs, etc. on the road. Can this board with it's standard wheels handle those conditions? OR do I need to upgrade to Cloudwheels, or something similar? Thanks a bunch!

In my opinion the most notable difference would be the deck. The Shuffle is shorter and has a more pronounced concave. G3 feels larger and has a concave that’s more flat in the middle but curves up at the edges.

Generally tips: put harder bushings in the back than in the front. Put most of your weight on your front leg. Put your front foot close to or on top of the front truck mount.

I really enjoy riding this board but have a problem recently: I received new hubs after the first stopped working. The new hub motors got a red, relatively stiff stripe of "paper" sticking out where the cable comes out of the hub motor. Is it there to protect the power cable or should this be removed? I'm asking because it is almost impossible to fit the cable and the red thing through the sleeves on the trucks.. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I can upload a picture of it.

They changed the turbo light flashing I think. I just got my board and it only blinks like that when you turn the lights on and are in turbo mode, doesn’t seem automatic on anymore thankfully

Hi Daniel, Thanks for the review very good as usual ! How does it compare in terms of comfort against the wowgo 3 and wowgo x3, if all are within budget which one would you advise more? Also video wise if you can put the music level down it would make it easier to understand you, I had to focus a lot because of it. No music is fine too for me :-)

yeah, my G3 has been pretty great so far. ordered the zealot s2e a couple days ago, because im ready for an upgrade. the g3 is an AMAZING option if ur looking a budget friendly, but powerful board. when it comes to RAW POWER, i didnt expect the g3 to be able to showcase such amazing strength. it FEELS like a belt drive. its STRONG. my warranty has came in clutch 5+ times when it comes to broken parts, which is an issue. it sucks that the board broke so often (or maybe i was riding it way too hard). anyway, a great board.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I was in the Exway camp, but have recently moved to Backfire. The Exway seems to have the better software while the Backfire has the better hardware. I want to get hub motors and I like the idea of a comfortable ride. Backfire has the larger wheels (although cloudwheels now has an attachment for hub motor wheels), and Backfire G3 Plus has a crazy good range with minimal voltage sag. Exway seems to have more accessories and customization, plus firmware update. Like I said, I was looking at the Flex, but now I think the G3 Plus is the one for me. I want a sturdy workhorse for commuting, but something capable of having fun, exploring, while being lightweight, quiet and portable.

Just to update this: The newer G3's, the "turbo light" doesn't turn on, if the lights are already off. I've been longboarding for years and years, and bought the G3 as my first electric board, a few weeks ago. I'm in no way a flashy skater. I'm not into lights going nuts and letting the ISS be able to spot me from space. I'm not into insane speeds either. 20kph is plenty for me. So I was just not gonna use turbo. But I did of course check out all the features when I first got the board. And yeah... The lights doesn't turn on automatically because of turbo mode. Seems they heard the criticism.

well, looks good .. The price is good as well but I don't understand why the turbo button exists? when you can't turn it off by pushing it again it's just I dunno... useless? and allowed only when releasing the throttle is literally stupid ... blinking sideway lights which cannot be turned off are also in my opinion only unnecessary battery drain and I'd definitely unplug 'em from the inside .. if I'd need light it would definitely be front / back not side lol :D ... I'll wait a bit longer till I buy a new board but I see it coming soon... thanks Dan (y) keep it up

It uses Caliber II trucks so I’d say pretty good. Can always change the bushings if you want.

Anyone happen to know how the flex of the G3 compares to that of a Loaded Dervish Sama flex 2? I like the flex of my Loaded, but wouldn't want to go much softer. - doesn't matter...ordered! thanks for a great review.

Now have the G3. Flex-wise it's a little softer than the flex 2 of my Loaded board. Taken it out a couple of times here in the UK, but some roads are still a bit damp in places, so taken it easy. Ran it on eco mode for about 50 meters and quickly maxed out the top speed, which is mellow as expected, then switched it to sport mode and had some fun. Not used it in turbo mode yet, as just getting used to the torque and braking, along with weight placement - it will have you off the back of it if you're not heavy on the front and keeping low, when pulling away quick. Looking forward to carving up the roads on it :-)

Hey Daniel Kwan how are you today sorry for the time difference I'm in the us but I have a question. I have the g3 but my power box got a little bit of water so it made a whole on the power wire it's the yellow thing that connects to the board so I'm sending it back. But I just got the G2 I was wondering if battery from the G3 turbo can fit on my G2? Because my RU-vid takes forever to charge. When is fully charged remote and board I take it out for a ride and my board battery goes down fast?

I weigh 125 lbs and only got 10 miles out of the board before getting low power. I sent the battery to Backfire and they are reviewing it now, and sent me a picture of the remote with 10 miles at 40% battery. I am very confused because I am not too aggressive when riding, and I weigh well below their standard metric for range. I’m concerned because it seems Backfire may not replace the battery- despite it dropping to 80% on eco mode after about 30 minutes of using it in my driveway.
