Hey guys I thank y’all for watching I know this is probably the only Zealot vs Voyager video out there so if you guys can share it around that would be appreciated 🔥
FYI meepo voyager was never 1,199 and was never intended to be 1,199. This is illegal in some areas even, to make it appear something is on sale. I wish people didn’t actually believe these false prices.
Thanks for the video! 👍 I find it weird that Backfire has added such bad wheels. My favorite board to this day is still the original Backfire Zealot with the extremely flexible deck :-) So.. i would have liked the deck to be more flexy. But still.. Backfire does GREAT boards ever since starting with belt-drive 😊 Customer support is also SUPER with Backfire! How is Meepo customer support?
Thank you for watching 🙏 Maybe Backfire added those wheels for a reason but you can always switch out if anything there’s so many options available. The Meepo Customer support is good but I wouldn’t say it’s as great as the backfire customer support
The grippier the wheel, the more the Motor is put under pressure, the zealot x small 1500W motors will overheat much easier than the voyagers 2700W motors as the ESC is pushing the small motors to their limit. So the backfire board with softer wheels will cause some serious heat.
I got the Voyager ,itll be here tomorrow, cant wait, Zealot is nice but the Voyager I got for $850 vs $1099 for the Zealot, also the Meepo gives u 2 sets of wheels ,pulleys, belts all for $250 less
If that’s are real I’m very impressed. It looks like the one the ride the voyager x are Fraid to accelerate, I can be wrong but that’s what’s look like 👍 great video
Which belt and gear setup did you have on the Voyager? I switched from the stock 245 32T to the 255 36t hoping to get a little more range and some more torque
Gotta see that zealot against the hurricane now. One thing I can tell you, that zealot will overheat like shit with those low wattage motors. Pushing them motors to the absolute limit. Whereas the voyagers motors will run cool, because they’re not being pushed anywhere near their limit. That’s why the wheels are so slippery, you stick a set of high grip wheels on that which will put the motors under even more stress and you’ll see them get even hotter. Not a good move made by backfire. Yes it’s got power, because the ESC is giving it a far higher draw of amps, but it will not have the longevity. So motor wattage really does matter. If you want to see what the voyager is really capable of, switch out the ESC to a top level flipsky ESC, and you watch that thing absolutely fly.
ive got about a month of use out the board so far and have yet to find myself being able to push it 100% of the time, theyve gotten warm, but no overheating issues, and I dont doubt if you drain the whole battery full throttle up a hill they will
I love the voyager but these skateboard people need to understand we will buy the ones that looks the sickest. So right now I may just buy the one with the stupid fucking lights.
@@esk8nyc I almost ordered a voyager today but then I watched your video and decided to go with the backfire instead. I also dont like the voyagers remote. Really cool tests I appreciate you and thanks for the $10 off ;)
I’m sorry to say but I’ve had two Voyagers, one from factory and the other from second hand. The factory battery and esc both went out. The second hand voyager esc is currently out while the battery still works. Factory voyager battery was cooked at 600 miles.
Thanks. What are the main problems that you get on your board. eg dead battery vs dead hub motor vs dead esc. which problem is the most common from your experience? Please and thanks.@@esk8nyc
@@boneheadnumber1409 oh dang that's pretty good. i'll definitely look into that. in fact, i just ordered the board last week and it should be coming in tomorrow :))) thanks for the tips guys
Cloud wheel is a great wheel option for the zealot, if you want a flat contact patch wheel there are many great options including Boas, Caguamas with different durometers for your liking
Thank you for your help. I'm currently looking for new wheels as I recently got into an accident with my Zealot X. I'm not sure if you've experienced this before, but when you turn the knob on the remote, too far back, the wheels will just lock up. This happened to me when a pedestrian suddenly appeared in front of me, and I had to brake hard. The poor traction and locked wheels caused me to be thrown off my board and onto my back. I appreciate you recommending some great alternatives. Thanks again for your help!
I have a set of meepo cyclones on my zealot x. It's a fantastic combination, i previously had the boosted/mad wheels 105 but i couldn't deal with the low speed vibrations or the lack of ground clearance because they actually measure 102mm. The 110mm cyclone wheels are excellent. At some point i might try the new cloudwheel rovers, i suspect they might better still, lower weight, better range and maybe impact absorbtion too.
@@tillertiller5037 What about the cloudwheel rovers contactpatch and traction. And could I wait for the promised 120mm MO wheels to come out for the zealot x?
@@rydermiller4263 yes the pulley that goes into the wheel. The larger the pulley is the higher torque/lower top speed. The smaller the pulley = higher top speed/less torque
as a meepo voyager x owner, killer video. keep up the awesome work! the backfire is the clear winner in my opinion, that being said I've never once wanted more power than mode 4 gives on the meepo haha honestly I mostly ride in mode 3 just because it feels safer and more fun, mode 4 is too twitchy for casual riding and I dont wanna crash lol
Those motors on that backfire won’t last half as long. Much lower wattage but being pushed much harder by the ESC. If you replaced the ESC on your voyager for one which gave more amps, it would be way faster. But luckily for you, they have opted for a safe route, which is powerful motors that aren’t pushed to their limit, so will last for much longer. Happy carving 😎
@@FactsOverFeeings yes pretty much, they all use low powered motors, with an ESC that pushes them to the limit. The large motors on things like the meepo envy and the meepo voyager is a much better way of doing it.
@@ESKATEUK whats my best bet for getting another board like the voyager for my GF to ride? I already have the voyager and I want something with at least 24 miles range and my budget is like 1200 or less. The envy was catching my eye. Thanks for the help.
@@FactsOverFeeings I’d definitely go for the envy, it’s an amazing board. It’s fast, smooth, powerful and will easily get 20+ miles with her on it. Definitely a good board for your girlfriend!
