What a great review. I owned a meepo board for a while. The board was great for the time that it worked but it started having issues and customer service was almost comically difficult to communicate with. After an unproductive back and forth for 2 months I eventually asked for a refund and they basically ghosted me. Went past my warranty date and ended up contesting the purchase through visa. I printed out my email thread and said that they were not honoring their warranty agreement and I got my money back.
I am. a newbie to the Electric Skateboard market...your review is one of the best that I have seen...the information was straight up , clear and to the point...Since I live near in New York City and since we just had a fire that was started in an electrical bike repair shop that resulted in the deaths of four people in the apartments above the store; I paid extra attention to the response as you told us....of Meepo sending out a new charger while not indicating that the old charger should not be used... Fortunately the New York City Fire Departments Is stepping up inspections of electric bike repair shops and those shops that are unsafely charging their batteries are being shut down.... Your customer service buyer beware story is at the heart of the review....An excellent review....Thanks for saving me some grief....
Thank you for posting this video. I’ve been looking at boards for the last month or so trying to figure out with Brand and what board I should get. I was literally about to make my purchase of a voyager x and a envy luckily, I saw this video I had no idea meepos customer service was so bad. I read the comments on this video and I see other customers are having difficulty with their customer service. I absolutely hate dealing with terrible customer service just because of that alone I am not buying a Meepe. Thank you so much for making this video.
When I bought mine through Amazon I knew I was gonna get the faulty charger so I used it scarcely till the new one arrived. Now the charging port, I hated it so much that I ended up 3d printing my own plug for the charging port, which works so much better! Other than that I haven't had any other problems
I just bought mine through their website but it is being shipped via Amazon so I think it’s from their warehouse. Do you think the charger is still faulty?
@@Longtraw969 when you get it check the number on the sticker under the battery, if it’s a lower number it probably is. Idk if they replaced them in the earlier models yet, I would just contact them either way and they’ll send you a new one, better safe than sorry
That’s why I don’t buy from Amazon if your going to get something like that u buy from the source. Be patient wait th e extra days my friend I assume that’s why u bought from Amazon in first place ;)
Thanks for the info. I'm looking to purchase my first E-board and have been watching all kinds of videos and reviews/shootouts of them for 3 months now and am still having a hard time deciding. The choice of boards is insane. Even thinking maybe just start ordering parts and build up one of my longboards. Meepo products were definately on my radar but this crosses them off. I've been wondering about the fire situation with all these eboards&bikes&unicycles etc. I have seen laptop transformers burst into flames. Hoverboards were burning up everywhere. I don'y store any of my RC Lipos in my house, I keep them in a metal box in the garage. Great vid.
yeah meepo makes good products i think but their customer service just isnt there. i also have a backfire board and the limited customer service experience i had with them was really good and fire is always a concern but i think its pretty rare cheers!
Just got my board and 100% agree with your gripe with the acceleration sensitivity. I’ve been riding for years and it’s genuinely difficult for me to accelerate the way I want without jerking forward.
right?? the good news is i've put about 600 miles on the board since this video, and i'm totally used to it, doesnt bother me at all anymore, so i guess all this to say that you do adjust! i think your thumb gets better at slowly rolling on
@@sam.alexander.reviews after the first 100 miles I’m completely used to it. Just a big step up in power from the mini 2 ER. The cyclone 105 wheels reduce torque and make the ride way smoother, but I’ve also grown to enjoy the fast takeoffs and hill climbing.
oof. wish i wouldve seen this vid before i got one. i agree with a lot of what you say. the board is fun, crazy good range is why i got it because im actually using it for doordash, but it's way too powerful for no reason. no one should be going 30+mph, i don't even understand how they claim it goes 40 in the right conditions. if they could channel that power into more range i'd be happy because i like using the complimentary cyclone wheels it came with and unfortunately the bigger wheels for a smoother ride takes more power to turn, cutting down on range. aside from that, in the month i've had my board i've already had a slew of mechanical issues. first being one of my motor assemblies would continuously come loose after tightening once a week. i could grab it and jimmy it around and it would move. so far i've fixed it by taking off the wheel and pulley assembly and using a wrench to hold the bolt steady while i tighten the screws. next is one of the plastic belt guards got shattered by a rock so one of my belts is more exposed to rocks and the elements than the other. in relation to that, I just broke a belt today and it was on the side with the broken guard. i had to cancel the order i was on my way to pick up so i lost money because of it. but on the bright side as a quick fix i put the original 90mm poly wheels back on the rear while leaving the 105mm rubbers up front, i think it's giving me the comfortable ride i'm looking for without the loss of range that comes from putting the larger pulleys and wheels on the motors themselves.
Your right , seemed like they're thinking was. Hey if we never internally admit to fault we can't be held in the wrong. Inadvertently screwing themselves to future lawsuits imo. Ethics are held highly in court. In the USA ethics are what build common business law.
Well I think Meepo stands for quality, i’ve been riding the same board (V1.5) since 2018, with the same battery and it still works! Even Meepo says it’s ok to ride during wet conditions, don’t..just don’t! It’s more or less an unwritten law! I had a similar problem with my board where the chargingport-seal snapped, but I put some wiretape on it. Worked like a charm! I’m about to upgrade to a new board right now, not sure which one though! It’s between Meepo Voyager and Maxfinds FF Street, basically the same pricecategory. But the Maxfind got replacable batteries which make the range endless, but it’s deck is more flexible which make it less attractive for heavier guys like me, Meepos can take weight up to 150 kg.
This is why I always go diy. With a vesc, you can set the positive and negative ramping for the throttle & that jerk will never happen. My first e-board ever was a meepo nls pro belt and it had this problem, too. Once you've gone diy, you never go back to Chinese pre-programmed esc's. Nope. I can change any vesc parameters on the fly with my phone.
@@sam.alexander.reviews It's worth it in the long run. It's really not that difficult to go diy. I source all my parts here in the states, so there's not much of a wait for parts. Programming a vesc is easy, too. There are a multitude of instructional videos to assist you. One day I might want to go super fast, so I connect via Bluetooth and change my motor amps to like 70 amps per motor. Days when I wanna just cruise & get more range, I'll change the motor amps to around 40. Diy is so versatile and you're in control of everything.
Oh and I put the waterbone surf adapter and rail adapter on the meepo voyager and it has completely change the board to total performance! Total control at top speed. Very comfortable!
Exway flex pro is a great alternative. It's got super refined build quality and good customer service for a similar price point. Not to mention it has a nice charger and even more torque
The new voyage they are selling on Amazon for $1,196 dollars have this charge problem too? I’m thinking buy one, eve with all those cones you mentioned, there’s no way to get a board with this range for this price
hmm i'm not sure, as i haven't tested the new ones. I do know they're using a new battery now so there's a good chance they fixed it but i cant confirm
I was going for a Meepo Mini 2 as a first eboard, but S/H was bad, the usual 30 days from China. No delivery or purchase updates at all so I would know what’s going on. Cancelled and went for the Backfire Mini, got it in three days from a CA distributor. 😎
Just picked this board up!! Experience speed wobble and had my first fall. I’m super excited to master this board !! I think the regen break is a little too powerful . Soon as I let off the throttle I have to remember to brake myself backwards. And if I tap the throttle I’m flying forward!! This board is INSANE! 😂⚡️
Buyers Beware! I bought 2 Meepo Boards (Voyager and Shuffle V4S) about 2 weeks ago, one of the boards came with issues and it has been a nightmare dealing with customer service. One of the motors is making a grinding sound, a motor mount had a stripped screw and the remote keeps loosing connection with the board. Meepo is saying and I quote “I checked with engineer, and that's not from the motor, is from the belt or something else, pls adjust it and try to fix it.” Their customer service sucks, they won’t stand behind their products and once they have your money, good luck getting any support. I would look elsewhere.
Did Meepo delete their comment on this video? I messaged them yesterday regarding the battery issue and they replied to me today saying that I can message them back if I’m having battery issues in the future. They didn’t mention anything about any safety issues or that they would be replacing my charger smh. Oh I got my voyager yesterday btw. Absolutely love it. I got the fast charger also but it hasn’t been shipped out yet.

Are all your too-much-torque comments on the highest speed mode? Would it be less sensitive on a lower setting? (Or does it not have those settings? I've only had a much more expensive board but am looking for a cheapy after it was stolen)
All you have to do is put a strip of duck tape over the charge port and you don't have to worry about it falling out. I've done this on my wowgo3 and meepo voyager . Never any issues.
trust me the customer service has been way way way worse, is part of the experience, if you are unlucky you die and if you are lucky you get a lover for life
Based on own experience and after 4 years of carving and 3000+ km on the same battery pack that stil delivers great power I can only trust the meepo products, and find it one of the only budget brands innovating and bulding with passion. But yeah I have heard others not being as lucky with there meepo experience, and that's a problem, not trusting the board your standing on with 29mph
i haven't ridden the zealot x but the meepo voyager will for sure do that no problem, but i also have a backfire board and i believe backfire's customers service is much better.

Due to a bad accident on my OWNBoard a week before my Voyager arrived I thought I was cursed because I was so excited to ride my upgraded new board, but couldn't due to fractures and serious contusions. Now, I'm thinking how lucky I am since I never once charged my new board with these faulty chargers they came with. I was sent a new charger by them, free of charge, but after reading some seriously negative comments on forums and the infamous email chain, I am not so confident the issue was resolved...a bandaid over a bullet hole so to speak. Please advise Meepo, since you guys seriously value open dialogue (and I respect you guys all the more for it). Chargers, honestly, should be the easiest thing to master here, and shouldn't be destroying batteries. My OWNBoard was able to stay plugged in all night and in the morning was super cool to the touch. After 3 years and 4000 approximate miles, my battery is still reading at 100%. That's how you make a charger!! I'm honestly terrified to use this new charger and with the near $1000 I paid that fear is unacceptable!!
Not funny but kinda.. I wrecked my hurricane going 28 the day after I got my voyager and separated my clavicle and fractured my wrist. It made me not care about the 40mph speed I'm good 15 - 20 now lol
yeah its false advertising for sure, i dont really mind because i dont want to go that fast, but i completely agree with you they shouldnt advertise that top speed

so a company is going to send out a new charger for free without you asking & alarm bells did not ring i would of thrown the charger out right away reading between the lines. But then i am British & we are 1 of the most cynical / pessimistic / untrusting peoples on earth. The rest of the world is NOT as focused on customer service as America is the rest of the world is 30 years behind if not more. Even here in the UK customer service is a recent thing 20-30 years till then the British customer service was we got your money we dont care like it or lump it
yeah thats fair, i think part of why i wasn't that suspicious was because i was one of the first to pre-order so they threw in quite a few freebies as part of that promotion, but i hear you obviously in hindsight i should have been suspicious
Lol I just ordered mine yesterday, then when I ask customer service if my package shipped by Amazon was going to have faulty charger, they said “The new order will come with the new charger, not come with the fauty one”.

To Be Honest With You Can't Trust Companies. Learn How To Modify And Work On Your Work On Your Board. I now Have A Propel Endevor S And B-One Titan. The Propel Group Is Extremely Resourceful. Believe In Yourself Charge Ports Are Easy To Swap Out.
