Never did I think I’d find a RU-vid channel dedicated to tying knots. Interesting

It's often called a Tuboat Bowline A. It is closely related to the Tugboat Bowline B (who would have guessed) and the Angler's Loop. These differ by the number of half twists of the first bight, increasing in security. The Tugboat A slso can collapse into the Artillery Loop, which is quite unsafe. If instead of the second bight you put a round turn over the first bight, you get the Double Dragon loop, which is much more secure.

Going to make this for my beach combing trips! Perfect for trash collecting with a partner too!

This was beautiful, masterful. Massive yellow jacket infestation under a second story window in an old stone house. Pump duster similar to a 2 gallon weed sprayer fit perfectly in the bucket and the exterminator could climb the ladder in confidence with this rig. I now have a dedicated rig. The knot you didn't know the name of appears to be Knot #153 in the Ashley Book of Knots. It's called the Artillery Hitch, Man-Harness Knot, or Harness Loop.

Looks dumb and pointless or rather not at all practical, but towards the end of the video it dawned on me. Though the bucket has a handle, and a fit person could carry 2 at a time, this video showed me how to carry that near impossible 3rd. Thank you for posting this

I also believe the knot in question is a type of Anglers knot or tugboat bowline (referenced in another video) a one second boline. Excellent! Terminology is getting much better also, dressing the knot. Only constructive criticism, standing part and working end (free end) all referenced in Ashley's Book of Knots.

I'm considering using this to carry my rock bucket back from rockhounding trips. I found a ski rope that someone discarded because a fishing lure got stuck in it. I've removed the lure and cleaned up the snags. I'm worried that the triple crown knots may end up quite large. The rope is about "1/2 thick. I'll have to give it a shot.

That knot at 6:10 is definitely an Angler's loop aka Perfection loop. I like the way you tie it better than the way I learned it.

Yeah I’d say that’s either a perfection loop/anglers loop or tug boat/ flying bowline

Cool design! Just thing about how to modify this to a cross body design. To keep with the quick on and off idea, I'm thinking kabobs on the lower loops, and then making the multiple strand straps in an "X" pattern through the loops, making sure you have comfortable room for your body. Would also have to make sure the cross of the X doesn't creep up to your throat. Just a thought

Do you think there’s a way to incorporate adjustability to the shoulder straps? I like the multiple loops so that it’s not a single strand digging into the shoulder, but if you make it too long or a bigger or smaller person uses that hoist, it has to be redone all over just to,get the strap length right, which is a pity in my opinion Nonetheless still ingenious and mind breaking how you always come up with those amazing solutions

Two questions, and apologies if these have been asked (searched but wasn’t coming up with much): What type/size cord/rope would you recommend to keep in your car for whatever might arise? I don’t mean towing or anything heavy duty like that, for which you’d use tow/rescue straps - more for lashing/fastening things, impromptu repairs, etc… And ditto on the question, if the answers aren’t the same, for camping, bug-out bag, general DIY toolbox, etc…. What type/size cord/rope would you recommend for practicing knots and knot systems/combinations? Happy to buy them from your awesomeforsale to help support!

I'd love to know how easy it is to get the bucket out of the rope web without losing it all. If you have several buckets to carry over a portage, for example, it'd be nice if you could remove the bucket, walk back to your canoe, and slip another bucket into the rope without having to tie all those knots again. Or is that asking too much?

i don't know much about knots, but couldn't you have run the first loop of the shoulder straps tight against the bucket to hold the bottom points in place?

I am making shoe protector from tire side wall. So I cut tire side wall to shoe sole shape, punch 6 holes on outer edge of shoe sole shape to run rope throght it for secure it I havs difficult time secure it on my boot. it keep slip off when I walk. can you recommend a better knot for this application. Secure shoe sole to the bottom of boot. so boot sole is not been wear off.
