Well I am not sure why my first comment is no longer here but lets try again. Great hunt, great shot and a fantastic location. Thanks again for putting the time in to film and share with all of us mate. It is very much appreciated.
Thanks for your feedback....As you would know there is a far bit that goes into these short vids behind the scenes and getting these types of comments makes it feel worth while continuing .
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures In reality recognition for your time and effort will only be recognised by a few. Make the videos as a time capsule for yourself and forget all the BS that often comes with the territory of social media. Just keep doing what you do mate👍👍
Who the heck would give a thumbs down to one of your vids Zeb, another great one with heaps of footage of deer, the caller and the final suspenseful stag footage of a deer that took forever to give you a shot. Keep it up, I love the content and your style, nothing staged about it. Thanks.
Cheers Luke. Everyone has haters when you put yourself out there so just have to brush it off and keep going forward. Glad you are enjoying the content.
Must be a green screen film Zeb. No way that boy in the river with pasty pin legs could follow a mighty hunter of your stature. Awesome stuff mate, well done and as usual thanks for taking the effort to film and share the hunting trips 👍
Hey Nathan you wouldn't believe where that bloke would go and at the pase he does and he's 15 years older than me ! Thanks for the comments 👍 see your channel has taken off for all the effort you put in its good to see.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures It's the skinny ones that are normally terrors 😂 Great stuff. I've had some good trips and that has certainly helped the view count 👌 All good fun mate, that's the main thing.
Brilliant clip mate. Recon people under estimate the effort required in filming a trip like this let alone the actual shot. Really enjoyed it and thanks again.
Yeah your probably right there mate, you may have noticed the amount of scrambling around I was doing to get into a position to shoot because the camera had the best spot, plus the extra weight of carrying the gear adds up too.
A great mix of top hunting story and a bit of info on your gear. It is so good to see great blokes with the right attitude putting in the effort and sharing. As some have said not many understand the commitment in many areas, it takes to make a great video. Thanks and keep it up.
I've been so tied up recently I haven't been able to get up to the Alpine area for about a month now... this is making me so home-sick to get up there and get in the bush. Awesome video as always!
Hey legend, mate your videos don't come across as 'educational' but holy shit i get a lot out of them. Thanks heaps for sharing, keep it up! keen for the next one.
Thanks for sharing another great trip. Another tip I was shown for crossing rivers is to turn face on to the current. That way there’s less surface area and both your legs don’t get swept away at the same time.
Great hunt Zeb enjoyed it a lot It's guys like you that make my evenings more enjoyable being able to watch the things I was able to do many years ago but due to health issues I am unable to do anymore and I thank you Sir and all the other hunters on RU-vid as well.
Thanks mate 👍 it's simple I don't shoot all of them because I love to hunt them......I wouldn't live here if they weren't here to hunt. We are feral, we are destructive to environments we are not native to this land but guess what we never cull or control our population so why we feel the need to control other animals is beyond me. The massive fires or 2019 certainly controlled their numbers across most of Victoria. Almost all the areas I hunt I have done so for 10+ years with no noticeable increase in population so the environment and the current hunting harvest is keeping them in check.
No pain no gain they say...well I've got plenty of pain so it's great to get something out of it and to have everything work out like a play book is that reward. 👍
Looks like they rafted down the river and dropped a heap of gear. We found the stash 3 years ago and not been touched since so we went through it, most of its buggered from rats and weather there was some maps printed off google from 2003.
My brother in-law and I we're having a spotlight on his bosses property just walking around with the torches for some foxes and rabbits and spotted 3 Sambar. So I thought we should have a play with the deer caller since it was a freezing night with no wind full moon and nothing else was out. It got them to stop and look back at us a couple of times which was a success in my book. So we call it a night and as we are walking off in the moon light it had called a wild dog 10 feet behind us on the other side of the fence it let off a bark and ran off. So the Sambar deer caller works for dogs as well lol.
@@JB-yp6bd Hey mate no they don't worry me but i will say on solo hike in hunts I'm conscious of them and my senses are definitely heightened when moving about in the dark. My rifle never leaves my side on these hunts.
@@sambarhunter4893 awesome I was hoping someone would recognise it....what's the story behind it ? Was it a dead head that you found ? Heads up on your stash by the way...there is nothing left that isn't damaged from rats and mold . Must have been a long time since you used it?
Cracking video. 💪🏼👍👏 Great stag an perfect shot placement ✅👌 Well done mate. love the content you are sharing. An the tips an tricks. What is the pack you are using again? My mate is looking for a light weight one. Can't remember which video U reviewed it on. I Love gear reviews on hunting channels.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures yeah mate. I had a hunting trip all planned out we got ready to go then they realesed the cull dates that was the end for our trip.. but got another one in the works so hopefully those war ship bugger off
Hey Liam the fly is a 3x3 sea to summit and I have 3 different ground mats, an insulated one for wet cold conditions google search heavy duty emergency blanket mine is blue/silver but you can get red/silver. I recently been cutting weight and one way is to use window film for a ground mat this isn't very robust but cheap enough to replace as needed and another one is just a one man tent footprint.
Thanks mate....everyone is different I hunt for the experience not just the "BIG" stag so when a decent stag is the end result of a great hunt that's good enough for me.
nice to see their reaction when you get the call full of saliva and squeek ect ( this was me for a fair while with it :) ) suprised they dident run at it, good news for me again haha
Would have been a nice stay in a couple of years! Let them grow mate! All of the youtubers like yourself, are always on about getting a 30incher, yet you shoot small stags all the time! Great filming, but let the stags grow, it just promotes the wrong culture.
All of the RU-vidrs like me are always going on about shooting 30inchers ? I bet you can't quote a single time that I have said anything remotely like this in any of my videos! I think its great to have that attitude towards growing trophies if thats what you are hunting for. If I was to average out how many stags I shoot a year over the 25 years I've been hunting it works out to be 2 per year, most of them are what you call "small" so if I was to not shoot "small" stags I wouldn't have shot much. I let plenty of stags walk off too and not all small stags that I see die but if the hunt is good then yes I shoot "small" stags because that is my reward for the effort I put in. I also rarely hunt the same area twice in a calendar year so its not like I'm impacting the herd but taking out a small stag.
I use my phone with google earth loaded up before out of reception and I also have an App called Australian Topo. I study the area extensively on the computer and with paper maps before any trip to have a good idea of what to expect. In the end I dont need any of it but its a great idea to know exactly where you are so you dont get misplaced.
Hey Mitchell thanks for watching...as for the rat no ill still shoot stags as the come big or small depends on the hunt. I've never seen a stag that I've let go ever again and with the NP cull program it's likely they will eventually cull this system and these deer will all be rotting in the bush.
