Warning !!! this video is devoid of any deer footage and is basically me giving a few little tips here and there as I go on a bush walk with my rifle. / membership
Hey Zeb, recently stumbled onto your channel and as someone looking to get into deer hunting I've found your videos to be great and really informative. Appreciate everything your doing!
Thanks again for taking the time in your videos to share your wealth of knowledge and experience. Put a nice one up last week, will be putting some time into him!!
Glad to see you back on the tube mate there hasn't been much content from anyone for a while I hope you have a very successful Autumn and winter this year .
It was great just to be back in the hills. Got my stalk on a couple times which was fun and got the legs warmed up for a serious hunt due after duck opening.
Thanks for the tips mate. Very much appreciated from someone who is still a novice. I wish you all the best with getting your business up and going and can't wait for more content. I really like that you are willing to share your experience and knowledge with everyone.... Its already tought me a lot and can't wait to put it into practice. All the best... cheers
Gooday Zeb Truly inspirational work again Kind Sir Valuable, practical, sensible tips mate from a clearly experienced and proven hunter & quality marksman ( from what I’ve seen mate 👍 ) Carry on Zeb, thank you for sharing this video and absolutely all the best as you set about your well laid plans to bring your guiding/hunter education enterprise together - with your skills and down to earth yet clever approach it will all come together beautifully mate Kindest regards From the Deep South of Tassie 🦌🦌🦌
Onya Zeb, valuable tips there fella! Good to have ya back. I was up that way somewhere a week ago, didn’t see anything eitha but was good to be out there amongst it. Not sure if your already aware or interested mate, but Chris Waters aka (the Australian huntsman), you can find him on RU-vid, has created a new hunting club/website called Hunting trips Australia, which might be helpful for you when you’ve started or he might be helpful getting you started with your little venture 👍 cheers mate
Grabbed one of those sling hooks from Moroka as recommended on one of your vids. Came really quickly. Was out all day today in the hills looking for dogs it was a ripper, wish we had them years ago. Cheers again, keep it up.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures I also got onto Grant at Sitka in NZ. He is very quick to help. Put an order today and I assume because i mentioned your name got a good discount and free shipping as well by the looks !!
Count me in mate love watching your videos always looking forward to new videos , get it going mate you'll do really well like I said im in, need to get me a deer been 7 yrs and still trying 👍
Ill hold you to that 🤣🤣🤣🤣mate that sounds awesome trust me you've help me alot just watching you I can only imagine what I'll learn and achieve actually hunting with you
Hey Zeb I was wondering if you would ever take hunters out to help with the zeroing in of there scopes. Exactly how you did it in one of your other videos. Maybe offer to take 4-6 beginners out to an area for a few hours. Set up a target and help with getting there gun set properly. I’d definitely be interested in that. I’m in Gippsland.
Thank you for making this form of content available. Most enjoyable to absorb by doing a couple of replays for picking up other nuances and consider all those little 1%'ters that go into a walk and stalk. Hope that your "business" successfully kicks off shortly.
Thanks so much for your content mate, I’m looking into getting into deer hunting and your knowledge is so much appreciated. Can you tell me what those boots are again? I’d like to look into them. Cheers.🇦🇺👍
Any of the LOWA boots are awesome, you just need to know what model suits you best with the style of hunting you'll be doing. If you are going to buy online contact me through my website www.zebrashunting.com/ I'll be able to get you a 10% discount
G’day mate Yes public liability a pain in the ass But a necessity Are you still using the canon 9.3 or the 300wm I’ve always used my old 700 Remington Classic in 7 mm rem mag it’s been a delight to use , from what I hear better than the ones now It’s unfortunate some people can’t handle the recoil of the big magnums And perhaps you may have to consider this with clients You and I can shoot them all day , but some just can’t , it’s a fact of life Well done again Thankyou Banger Down Under
Hey Wayne 👋 I sold the cannon and I'm just running the win mag now.yeah I hear you on the mag calibres hence I've been contemplating the purchase of an 06 or similar
Hey mate when I'm walking my scope sits on 3 power unless its very open terrain then I will bring that up to 5x. What power I shoot on depends on the amount of time the animal gives me and how close it is. I dont like to zoom in to much because if a follow up moving shot is required its much harder to track an animal on high magnification due to the reduced field of view.
hey mate, quick question about the scenario when you can smell them and you reckon there bedded up below/above you in thicker stuff - would you ever hold up and try using a caller to get them out towards you? OR...and try not to laugh at this one, but in that same scenario, have you ever tried lobbing a rock to the area they are in? try flush them out? Cheers
I'm no expert with the call and I haven't really tried it in that situation before. I believe it could drag them out and would be worth a try. As for the throwing rocks 😁 in the early days of hunting I used to do it all the time but never had any success not to say it wouldn't ever work. I have broken stocks on purpose to get deer to rise out of their beds.
Also which model of Lowas have you found the best for you so far? Evo? Tried the rangers didn’t really suit my foot the Tibet GTX wide were spot on though, did you get a good run out of yours?
The Tibets are awesome for backpacking and I got a solid 3 years from them before the sole were shagged. I haven't had the EVOs long enough to say they are my favorites but i can assure you they are up there. need more time in them in winter and with a pack on to confirm there support and durability.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures I’d be happy with that! Any brands you steer towards as far as sleeping bags go? Been looking at the Mont Zodiac 700 for the warmth (still a relatively warm sleeper) and the shape, because it’s not tapered. Would be running most likely an exped downmat. In your opinion would this setup be overkill or primo for comfort and warmth out there on you pack hunts?
@@huntinginaust.6463 hey mate I don't worry about brands only grams 😉 I compromise comfort for weight as most of my pack hunts are 1 or 2 nights. If your after comfort your set up sounds good but could be quite heavy and take up a fair amount of room. I have a Nemo bag atm it's lightweight but very restricted in movement and not the warmest.
Hey mate that will vary wildly depending on where your hunting. Fringe deer will always be close to daylight and dark also depending on hunting pressure. Forest deer depending on hunting pressure can be seen feeding all the way to 11am and can be back out feeding around 3pm . So a lot depends on location and pressure. More pressure more nocturnal.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures thanks so much I really wasn’t sure at all what times are worth being out In the brush stalking I really appreciate that
Newbie again here Zeb. With your P L Insurance issue, I have just joined a club for a legit reason to own a fire arms which also gives me P L Insurance. So if I was go out on a hunt with you wouldn't I already be covered?
Yes you would be covered but that doesn't stop you from suing me. I'm protecting myself and my family from being sued and club insurance doesn't cover a business only individuals.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures A few guides I have looked at make game and fire arms licence a mandatory requirement. Surely you can speak to a lawyer who can draw you up a contract which your clients sign to prevent them taking any action?
@@danielkappler6709 yep I have a waiver in the process but no waiver is water tight so must have insurance as well. Its all in the pipeline just need it to all come together.
