In the Spring of 2022 I enjoyed this nice overnight trip to the Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness in southern Arizona. Encompassing 19,410 acres of designated wilderness, the canyon features one of the few perennial creeks in Arizona's desert, providing abundant water for a multitude of plants and animals. A permit is required to recreate in the canyon, limiting the number of visitors and helping to maintain a true wilderness experience. Enjoy the scenery as I wade Aravaipa Creek, setup camp, and cook a few of my favorite go-to backpacking meals.
