Very nice! That is funny. I was exactly 2 days behind you the entire time. I started on the second. I saw so many waterfalls on that hike. And the gnats were sure Horrible at lower elevations. It’ll be a few weeks before I post my video. 😁
You've out done yourself on this trip !! Great video !! Your filming and editing is getting better and better. One of the sierras finest and most breathtaking loop hikes !! I think I did this one some 28 years ago, and I was remembering campsites and such from your trip. We had a bear with cubs in and around our paradise camp during the night, I didn't sleep well !! A low pressure system came in as we made our way over the pass, causing wind and light snow. Our night at Rae lakes was one of the coldest I ever experienced in the sierras !! Keep the great videos coming !!
@JustinMcKinneyhiker Thank you! I can see why the permit is so sought after in the peak season. Wow! I've been told about bears I'm the area but we didn't see any, sadly. I wonder if 28 years ago it was a little less trafficked. The weather seems like the Sierra up there and just does what it wants. We did not expect rain hahah.
@@NickInNature We had seen the mama bear upstream from our camp, with her two cubs. earlier in the afternoon. We had a camp fire that night, and heard what I can only describe as a baby screaming from hell , from a distance in the black night. It was unnerving to say the least. My buddy shinned his flashlight into the blackness and saw several eyes !!! I believe the screaming was the cub got momentarily separated from mama.
