Backpacking the Black Forest Trail. (Full loop) Pennsylvania 

Looks nice. I may do this one as a prep for Colorado

The Black Forest Trail travels very close to where Bob and Dottie Webber made their home. When Bob passed away, their cabin was dismantled and reassembled at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum. Their homesite is accessible by parking at the Tiadaghton State Forest known as Pump Station off Rte. 44. Walk the mowed jeep trail past where the BFT crosses over and continue to the end. The foundation for their cabin is still visible as are a few other smaller foundations for various buildings.

I don't know why my channel was not subscribed because I watch your video's! Everytime I see someone do this trail I get more inpired to backpack it myself! Hopefully next year I will do it!

I’ve been in that old pump house. Saw while walking my dogs on the Ruth Will ski trail.

Happy Trails Jeff I use to eat alot of them bags of food MREs when I was in the army and they where pretty good there available on line the meal packages contain alot more including desert 😊

So I finally got around to watching this and boy am I glad that I did. Fantastic!!! You do such a great job on these back packing videos, you make it look easy even though it isn't. It was great to see you completely in your element, and your ability to weave in personal stories and insights along with your factual accounting of the trail is superb. Love what you had to say about Bob, the trail maintenance crews are unsung heros and selflessly provide so much joy for others. Whoa man you totally freaked me out on the Blair Witch black and white shot, great touch! Least of all, my gosh what gorgeous scenery - the fall colors, vistas, waterfalls - fantastic. How does this trail rank in your opinion of the backpacking trails you have done in Pennsylvania and are you using a new camera the picture clarity seemed really sharp. Hi Walter! Thanks so much for your kind words. I think the Black Forest Trail is definitely one of the bests backpacking trips in the state. The Loyalsock Trail is another great trip also. I’ve never been on the Mid State Trail yet and I’m sure there are some beautiful areas on that trail also. I’m still just using my I phone 11 for my backpacking trips, maybe I’m just holding it more steady in this video or something…lol I have an OSMO camera and want to start doing some time lapse shots in the future. Yeah, the BlairWitch almost got me but I managed to get away…lol Thanks again for commenting Walter and always look forward to your adventures too!

I just did the northern portion of the BFT (clockwise) and camped at that amazing vista with the small grove of Aspens. Had it all to myself. 😊 Room with a view. ❤

Welp, that trail just moved up my list! Looked like an amazing trip and I really like the distance. Have you hiked this trail in the late spring at all? I wonder how it is then, still good views not over grown?

That trail looked awesome. The Blair Witch shot is burned into my eyes now and brings me back to Saturday nights as a kid when you first showed me that movie lol. You looked so happy when you saw Bart again at that end. Fall rocks and Bart rocks!
