I was super excited that this day came. My friend has been training for over a month in the gym with heavy weights on while doing the Stairmaster, so we were confident that she could make this hike. We camped an hour away from the trailhead so it's faster to get at this place in the morning. As we descend the canyon, I have noticed that she was struggling with her backpack and balancing. I got worried so I talked her out of continuing the hike and go somewhere else that is more capable of doing. We had an amazing lunch at Sedona and waited for the afternoon before heading to the Birthing Cave Trail. I was surprised that we are by ourselves in the area. We camped at the outskirts of Sedona for the night. The next day, we spend the morning at Dead Horse Ranch State Park. It was a really nice place to watch and listen to the birds.
