i cried watching it. the lyrics from shy away “don’t circle the track just break the cycle in half” reminds me so much of this song. josh watching tyler circle his tracks (bad habits) and still waiting for him no matter what. it’s so heartwarming but sad at the same time
I think that the lines ''Cause I feel the pull, water’s over my head,'' ''Reach my hand above the tide'' “Is that a stain? you should change” is a callback to Saturday. As in Saturday there is lines as ''Life moves slow on the ocean floor'', ''Did the tide forget to move?'' ''...keep things fresh she said that i should change my clothes”. But also there is the line ''Kind of wishing that I never did Saturday,'' in this song.
oh my god i love that perspective of this song being tyler talking to his younger self especially when he says the line, " i'll take anything you have if you could throw me the line, i should have loved you better, do you think that now's the time you should let go?" Reaction therapy's perspective was that he's talking to god, which i can see, but him talking to himself makes so much more sense to me.
it makes sense if you think about next semester. “can’t change what you’ve done, start fresh next semester.” tyler seems to be stuck trying to fix his past. and can’t seem to let go of his younger self. very interesting stuff
i saw someone on twitter say he wasted the buns on trying to fix his past, so he had none for the present. like giving his younger self a bun. so he’s always going to be stuck in this loop if he always tries to fix what already happened. very interesting
The drowning theme again... this man knows how to write lyrics that gets me.. please do a lyric analysis! Also that Saturday line (and the "change my clothes" callback immediately after) - I still don't understand the hate for Saturday...
I'm going to see them live in Madrid 2 days before my birthday next year, I'm excited about this one in particular lol Love your content, you remind me of my sister (she used to be a clikkie too)
Someone plz correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the only vid where Josh isn't seen playing the drums? My memory is failing me rn. Would that also indicate that Josh is 'real' in this one 🤔 either way enjoyed this one
Fun fact i listened to this premiere with my mum and she was vibing HARDDD anyway this song really got me in the feels while getting my sister from school. The music video was like cryptic but not cryptic almost like you could get the main message and stuff but itd be 100 times more deep if u pay attention 😭
