My brother saw Davey at an airport one time and shook his hand while thanking him for the music. He told me that he just remembers Dave's nails digging into his hand. Lol
I love hearing all of the stories of how they began. These guys would be so chill to hang with, these videos help you really get to know them on a personal level. Thanks Yahoo.
I have never once had a bad experience having a conversation with a member of AFI. In fact, at times I was made slightly uncomfortable by how engaged they were talking with me while there were quite obviously other fans circling us wanting to have their own conversation.
Being a musician I think keeps you youthful knowing how to enjoy and express yourself ,doing what you love no matter whether you rich middleclass or poor.
Being *sober* is what you mean. Look at all of the other artists in any decade/era or industry who've completely destroyed their bodies and minds with drugs and alcohol. Davey has always been straight edge and that's why he's still so articulate and able to recall all of these stories in detail as he's getting older. That's why he's still killing it with DREAM CAR 🤯
The fact that they covered a crust punk song in “todays lesson” was so dope to me… this was like the hardest afi album and still is imo check out the original by the band filth afi goes crust lol
Hunter is from Grass Valley!! Such a nice little community tucked inbetween beautiful mountains. Parents of a friend of mine in junior high had property in the woods near there and i saw a fireworks show in grass valley, such a cozy, homely place, it was around '95 maybe Hunter was there too :O
I love this album. I used to wonder how they went from Answer That and Very Proud of Ya to this, and recently I realized SYM has more in common with those albums in a lot of ways. I think the production and Davey's vocals give these songs a harder edge and the songs just sound meaner.
I remember going to Tower Records at the Fremont Hub to buy this album. I was freshman in high school. My Bf at the time had a compilation cd with A Single Second on it and we were hanging out in the car listening to it. When the song came on I had to know who it was. That was the moment I fell in love with AFI.
I really wish they talked more about the album itself rather than the line up. This is in my opinion, their best record, the bridging gap between eras that meant a lot to me then, as well as now.
yeah, being a healthy person definitely helps keep you youthful, and good genes as well of course. it helps so much that davey never drank or did drugs and is a vegan, so all those together are definitely a healthy way to live....
Hey everyone! This album is one of my favorite albums of all time so I made a review to honor it. If you'd like, check it out at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O0mGwl6kKEA.html
@@SlashManEXE nahhh adams still good friends with mark mark gave it up to do bicycling I believe now Geoff on the other hand he burnt his bridge with them repressing and bootlegging all the early 7 inches multiple times for profit and has them on block and myself XD
@@willbirkin666 I don’t remember Mark’s departure being amicable. Him taking up cycling professionally was also a later development when fans were trying to track him down. Geoff’s departure WAS amicable before he screwed that up a couple years ago. Really a shame how recent that was. Davey and Adam didn’t need the royalties from that, but it was just the principle of the act that had them feeling betrayed
What do you figure I should do about it, Davey Havoc, after my observations? I seriously value your opinion on this. Music needs help today. Let's start there.
Cause that’s where the band formed. He was going to UC Berkeley at the time. He grew up in Ukiah. Not sure if that’s why people say the band is from Ukiah.
