Hey kat, I need some advice, so I was supposed to be studying musical theatre this year at a college but they told me on the first day of class that I couldn’t do the course (it turned out I was basically over qualified for the first level but not ready for the next level) so I managed to get into an acting course which is great but not exactly what I want and I’m really missing musical theatre. I know you went through a similar situation, switching from musical theatre to studying media. How did you handle that at first? I’m auditioning for a musical at the end of the month and I want to continue voice lessons and some dance classes. Do you have any advice?

Kat, I’m having a really tough time. I’ve been rehearsing my audition song for a Hairspray audition tomorrow. I made the mistake of recording myself singing and I listened to it and I feel like it was really bad and now I’m really scared and starting to consider backing out of the audition.

I know that listening to/watching yourself perform can be hard(and make you cringe sometimes), but it's a great way to notice things that you haven't before and make improvements. Stay positive though, and own the things that make you unique! Break a leg!

So update for anybody wondering: I did my audition today and I think it went pretty alright. Auditions are difficult, and I’ve never been good at them, but my nervousness and awkwardness really played into to auditioning for Penny. I’ve done 12+ auditions in my life and this is one I actually feel alright about and not like I didn’t do my best.

Hey Kat! I have a couple questions about scene bot stage. Is it open internationally? Or at least across North America? Is there an age range for it? How long are you flown out for if you happen to be chosen for the showcase thingy? If your a kid can parents get flown out too?

-yes -yes -no, if you're under 13 just get your parent's permission to post -not sure, but a few days! -I believe so The live show aspect is just for a couple of people who get chosen & is a very small component of the app, it's tons of fun to just post (and you can get discovered & signed through that too!!)
