This week, we've got part 1 of a weekend in my life (does it count as a weekend if it just takes place over Thursday and Friday? No? Oops). Today, we get to go behind the scenes of PIRATES OF PENZANCE presented by The Hypocrites, currently playing at the Pasadena Playhouse! Exclusive footage from opening night, plus the VIP premiere party. After that, you'll see some slightly more normal stuff (going to school, annoying my parents, etc.) and then a super neat Valentine's Day PR unboxing from Smarties! This vlog also sets up next week's video--which is PART 2, backstage at Into the Woods! If you guys didn't know, I'm a working actress currently in a professional production of INTO THE WOODS in Los Angeles. I'm playing Rapunzel and it's super fun. My friends are ridiculously talented and super silly so I can't wait for you guys to see next week's video.

"This is what happens when you let all the arts kids try to do sports." RELATABLE! Whenever I have to play a game that's slightly sporty I just use the excuse "I go to an arts school!!! I'm a theatre kid in the choir and songwriting classes! We don't *_do_* sports!"

My first ever musical was Pirates of Penzanzce. I was cast as Edith, even though I was a Sophomore, which is very uncommon in my school! My old choir director and his wife met in this show, and its also where my fiance and I met and started dating. Pirates of Penzance will forever hold a place in my heart ❤

Lava cakes are the best!!! Also, any other Canadians here confused when Katherine was talking about Smarties and then pulled out Rockets. Just to clarify, Smarties candies in America are called Rockets in Canada and Smarties in Canada are actually similar to MnM's. You're awesome Katherine!!! :D

I am...so thrilled about this production of pirates (that I will never see because I live in England. rip); I Really Adore gilbert and sullivan and I'm a sucker for modern adaptations. I totally get the "this is what happens when you let arts kids do sports" part LOL!! Yesterday I was at rehearsal for my school play and the basetball game was going on at the same time. We ran down to watch them play, came back, and were questioned what people do at basketball games 😂😂✨✨

I was quite confused during the opening of the package until I remembered that you live in the States 😂 in Canada, we call smarties Rockets, and Smarties are their own candy, pretty similar to M&M’s. OH MY GOSH KATHERINE! i had the worst slip the other day! so.. i’ve always wanted to play small alison ever since it opened, and when i got an ad for fun home auditions, i nearly fainted! i sent my resume, booked an audition, and talked with the casting director. from the nice words they said about my singing and acting, i was sure i would get the role. but.. i just realized then that the theatre was in california, and i live in a small town fourty five minutes away from toronto! 😂😂
