This has more of an R&B feel to it. Their harmonies are totally on point. Its one of those songs you can slow,dance to. I was already in my middle to late 20's when they hit it big but my nieces were nuts about the Boy bands.

Hearing BSB brings me back to my teens. Throughout the years I've liked them and disliked them. As an adult not caring about being cool and the boyband stuff now, the foundation of their success really comes from having solid voices that work really well together given the right songs. They're just a really good vocal group. I come back to BSB again from time to time.

Brian Littrell from BSB actually did a solo Christian album that was SO good and won Dove awards! He’s the one that held the long note. You should check out his album called Welcome Home. It was released in 2006. And I grew up loving both bands, but BSB will always be my absolute favorite. I love them all so much. Their music has been in my life for close to 20 years now and means so much to me. ❤️

Backstreet Boys are still around, they are currently on their DNA World tour. You should check out some of their music from their latest album. They are also great singing acapella, and always do a portion of their show just sitting down singing acapella..no instruments. If you want to hear some of their music from their new album, I highly recommend "No Place" and "Chances"

It turns out the only rivalry between the actual groups themselves was manufactured by their awful manager, Lou Pearlman. He was the who pitted the groups against each other. He was an awful man, who died in prison owing a lot of people money. The Backstreet Boys had to pay him off to get rid of him and N Sync had to sue him. The song "Bye Bye Bye" by N Sync is about that manager! The only thing he did right was put the Backstreet Boys and then N Sync together. But, then he went and stole their money, overworked them when they were all so young (as young as 12 years old) and lived off of their success, calling himself the 6th member of both of the groups. I prefer the Backstreet Boys. They came out first, I prefer their songs, and they are still doing it. Still together, still singing and dancing their butts off over 25 years later. And Brian Littrell always sang like an angel (he's the short brunette guy you hear throughout most of the song and doing all the ad-libs). I could listen his voice doing anything. But, I love N Sync, as well. I listened (still listen to) everything both groups have done. JC Chasez has amazing vocals and was underrated because Justin Timberlake got all of the focus.

Their first album (real first album, released in europe) is the most R&B influenced from their discography, but yeah, I never noticed how this song could easily be by Boyz II Men LOL btw, I was 9 when I heard this song back in 96, and I was just a kid crazy for Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys, my 2 older cousins were huge fans and we were close, so they influenced me in a lot during this time.

I'm a big boy band fan. New Kids On The Block, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, NSYNC etc. I just love the harmonies. I love the song, "This I Promise You" by NSYNC (it was played at my wedding). And their latest release DNA debuted at #1 on billboard with about 250k copies sold in First week. Nsync is gone, fans might have argued about this in 1999. But that discussion is over. There are 2 videos done for this song and they are both done really well. My wife Felicidade likes it when i sing the Spanish version of the song. She knows like 5 or so different languages and i am slowly after 11 years so far together learning Portuguese just by listening to music where she is from. But yes this is a great song and i always have a great time singing it on stage. I was told before when i didn't have a cowboy hat that i look a lot like and/or sing a lot like AJ the one with the shades and yellow hair or the one that is standing next to the blond one at the end of the video. To answer your question, yes. By 7 billion. It's nowhere close. Nsync was more hyped up towards the end, but backstreet has a ton of truly great songs. Plus they all have real talent. Nsync is just Timberlake, JC chazez, and the most 90s looking guys they could find to fill out the rest.

they originally broke out in Canada with this song (used to come on MuchMusic channel - Canda's MTV) and it was a totally different video - they were in a ski resort; this was a re-release and played on MTV in the states after about year or so; same with 98 degrees - invisible man was played on Canadian music channel but they didnt break out until their second album with because of You

I've always thought BSB was better, but JC Chasez of NSYNC is the best singer of the big 90's boy bands. BSB wins though because all 5 have genuinely good voices and allow them to shine. NSYNC never really allowed Chris, Joey, or Lance any sort of spotlight when they were pretty damn talented in their own right. But the staying power of BSB is insane. It's really cool to see how long they've lasted.

Not related to this video, but I watched your "I Can Hear Music" Beach Boys reaction video just now and you said you wished you could find a more modern group with a similar sound. I think you might like the vocalizations of the group TV on the Radio. Their music isn't upbeat like the Beach Boys, but if you like those harmonies, it's the closest I can think of to a modern version of it.
