This is great. My 1st tech job I was a hardware builds technician and I would usually reimage brand new computers with our custom build Windows OS. But every now and then there would be times where I would have to re image users' computers with their data in it and I would always get nervous in fear of losing their data.
@@Cobuman you’re saving Help Desk employees. I’ve worked a few contracts and the lack of accurate educational material and lack of information is severe. Ever thought of teaming up with some of these companies and helping educate their help desk teams. I’ve also crossed a lot of people that are learning on the job (like myself) whether they’ve transitioned from another career or whatnot that cd really use this information.
@@Kings_Landing_Serf I'm glad my videos are helping but I'm not surprised at this point. Many people tell me that they need this type of training just to keep their job because nobody trains them at work.
@@Cobuman smh it’s very disappointing as an employee to work for companies like that. And for some reason a lot of this information is not prioritized in certifications (like CompTIA). They’re seems to be a massive disconnect with what’s actually needed to carry the duties of the job between IT companies, certification providers/ educational IT organizations and employees. It’s very strange. Appreciate you for filling in the gaps! Hopefully you get your due.
There is a hidden folder in this video I did not create a backup of... Can you find it? 😁❓❓❓ Backup User Files Before PC reimage, Help Desk + Desktop Support. My equipment: www.amazon.com/shop/cobuman Like on Facebook facebook.com/cobuman
I just got my first IT job. A user needed her laptop re-imagined, and my junior tech did not back her stuff at all. I realized this a couple of days later when I got her a brand new laptop. It's my site and he's there only once a week. He's supposedly there to mentor me. It was embarrassing to me that he did that. But I let it slide because she went to him instead of me. Pretty sure only because I'm new.
Congratz on new job! I've seen this happen many times before with other members of IT where a Director level user lost everything... I'm glad I didn't have to explain what happened. Even with automated processes available which is supposed make a copy of local profile - I would still have my own backup (process fails/corrupts sometimes). It's pretty normal user would go to him first for reason you've mentioned. Soon enough, users will come to you once they find out you are there all the time. 😁
Hello Cubaman, thanks for this but can you provide a link to watch how reimaging is done from start to finish and how you deploy it in an organization settings, please?
@@Cobuman supa sorry, on my computer as i was following your vid, i didnt see a drive D: on my laptop. I think I just need to go in and assign a drive letter. Thank you for your videos.
