The yellow bar is your hunger meter.

The icon on the inventory that looks like a gear is to repair your iron and steel tools and weapons.

You can cook the berries to gain double the energy. Fall damage from trees will also break the minable stones/coal/iron nodes.

Nice! Cool tip about fall damage from trees breaking stone nodes. Some of the other things I figured out in Episode 2 but thanks for listing them here as it helps everyone.
