I have just come across your page and it feels like a lifesaver. I'm starting my first teaching job as a high school performing arts teacher. I am very nervous, excited and honestly overwhelmed. I am still at uni so I am a special authority teacher and I am not sure how I am going to go, but this has really made me feel more confident in starting up my teaching career. Thank you!
Hey mate, Have just come across your page and have been so interested in what you've had to say in regards to what it is like to be a teacher. At the moment I am struggling to take the leap into beginning my teaching career, in regards to starting university, but the way you talk about how rewarding it can be, and how passionate you are about educational growth, do inspire me to go through with this pathway. I have been toying with the idea for quite some time now, and your videos have given me plenty of reassurance that it is something that I will not regret, I just have to bite the bullet and get stuck in.
Hey Mason, thanks for reaching out. I do love teaching, it's extremely rewarding (albeit draining each and every day) and I often catch myself in the middle of the day, in the middle of a lesson, in the middle of a conversation with a kid and think to myself "I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this". Its definitely a scary prospect starting university, but I think it's something you should have a crack at. During your studies you'll have the opportunity to do a placement in a school and get a taste of what teaching is like, and if it's not for you that's okay, but you might find, just like me, you absolutely love it.
