Fun Fact: Stryken actuslly was around since the late 70s with the name Stryker, but they changed there name to Stryken when Stryper became popular.

Damn, this is one of the genuinely funniest things I've seen in months. And not in the "Heh, I internally laughed at this because it's funny in principle but my mouth stayed in its usual scowl", no this had me laughing out loud. Good job dude, very funny concept and very well executed. If there's one thing I may touch upon, it's that the individual transitions between the covers can be a bit abrupt at times. Not the ones where it was intended for comedic effect, just certain segments seem to come out of nowhere.

I read that Stryken were actually named StrykeR, but they changed the name because of controversy for the Stryper situation. So yeah, it's StrAIken.

pretty good video. i was just talking to one of my friends last week about how album art can define a good album most of the time. and there have been albums i've listened to in the past that have a chaotic mess of a cover and be about the same musically. mostly stuff from the 80's of course, but i end up going back for more of it and digging the artwork and music for some odd reason, best example in my opinion is Cheap Trick's "The Doctor" album or The Cars "Door To Door"

I think what makes album covers more significant than book covers is that they are typically the only visual representation a piece of music has. Excluding music videos or other promotional material, the album cover is the most obvious visual form a song appears as. And a general impression of a song is partially shaped and inspired by its cover. The good and iconic covers say something about their featured songs. And if done poorly, it usually gives a bad impression before we even listen to the tracks. So yeah, I definitely thought this was an interesting video.

I saw the Stryken album in a copy of 'CCM' in 1986. They were apparently strychnine in Christian rock. I later read one of their members disavowed Christian metal.

I got curious about the Christian country band Butch Yelton and Upbound. There is indeed little information out there. They did have other recordings. Since the date of release of "Swing that Gospel Axe" is unclear, it's not possible to determine whether the other release "Cookin' Country Gospel" predated or post dated the one with the more famous cover but there was, in fact a release of an album titled "I love country music and you" in 1981, under the name Roy Lee Felton and Upbound. Pretty sure that happened after. They were from Illinois, of course, not Canada. Some suggestions would be 'Somewhere in Time' by Iron Maiden, Tango in the Night' by Fleetwoodmac, Rust in Peace' by Megadeth, In the Nightside Eclipse' by Emperor, Opus Nocturne' by Megadeth, Judas Priest - Painkiller and Dissection - Storm of The Lights Bane'.
