I find that downplaying a terribly horrific and paranormal situation and treating it as "mildly inconvenient" slightly raises your survivability rate by 10%. Kinda like pulling a Ryan Reynolds except in a horror movie lol
@@Crxw2Tired There's a Clive Barker short story where a demon is haunting a person who is seemingly oblivious to it, but in actuality is completely aware of what's going on and is acting that way to fuck with it and probe for weaknesses to exploit.

A figure passed in the spare bedroom just as Manly made the character go down the hallway and the fact that he didn't notice (or tleast didn't say anything about it) made me feel real crazy up in here
this whole thing is SO hysterical. the hank hill lookin ass trilby guy, his deadpan quips, the "situational awareness mechanic" and how manly keeps spamming it to react 2 stuff, literally cracks me up everytime djdkfjj

Can I say how much I love corpsepile's humor? The way the protag says it's like he is in a game made by a 'bad developer' and suddenly the 'Game by corpsepile' appears is just great.
Yeah, that "wow its a bad game wink-wink" is such a bad joke and not in a way those who use it are expecting. But then I saw "Game by corpsepile" and literally applauded to this guy's taste of humour (≧▽≦)
I'm so upset that the best part of the whole series of movies didn't make the cut for this game. Yknow, the part where he dons his homemade paladin armour, challenges the monster directly, and runs off out the backdoor into the night.
@@JapeachiTaho It's a series of movies that are all called "Bad Ben -----". The first movie is an entirely one man show, with him doing the acting, directing, editing and ofc filming which is why it's a found footage style movie. I originally watched the first few with my mom around Halloween last year, and whilst they can be pretty frightening in places, they're also pretty funny too, both because of the main characters disposition towards the haunting, and occasionally his ill-conceived attempts to get rid of it.
I enjoy how unfazed tom is by this, not in a "Not aware hes in a horror game" way but in a "Aware hes in a horror game and pissed cause all he wants is a decent house and a good nights sleep" way
I love how this guy actually seems to respond to Manly with conversationally appropriate timing... but only with extremely conversationally inappropriate language 😅
Let's be honest here: If most horror games had a "Swear On Command" button, they would be considerably more entertaining. I know I would be laughing my ass off if you could face off against a horde of zombies in RE and just have your character screaming curses whilst fighting, because that is honestly more accurate.
I swear sometimes I think I hallucinated that entire show. It never made me laugh but...I just, it was this neverending wtf congo of acid trip daydreams that was hard to look away from. I don't think anyone can get as high as the writers for that show.
I love how this guy’s first instinct after learning there’s a stranger living in his house is to whip out a video camera & record himself throwing some haymakers
I really like the main character of this game. He knows the situation is spooky and bad, and his response is to say he going to "kick some ass". He even sees the guy who knocked him out (who was he, himself), dead and mutilated, and he celebrates this fact. I wish more horror protags were like this. Only thing I didn't like is what they did to the protag, by turning him into the ghoulish villain himself. Also I laughed hard at the Meme Soyface Menu image. This game is charming.
That "situational awareness" key is something I never knew I needed but now want in other games too 10/10 Never laughed so much at a horror game. Cheers corpsepile!
i appreciate how diligent manly is in finding all dialogue options and endings in these games, but no manly trope makes me laugh harder than him completely missing scripted scares because he wasn't paying attention (4:20)
Having never heard of the Bad Ben series this is connected to, I can't say I expected this but it did make me laugh and that's all I can ask for from this. The unlockable shotgun is probably the best gag in the game.
I like how you wouldn't be able to see the suit of armor at the top of the stairs, so they moved it, it's iconic and I'd be disappointed if it wasn't there.
Never knew a button to make the protagonist swear, utterly annoyed with his situation is something I wanted to see more of in games until now, definitely added to the atmosphere. 😂
I want to point out that Bad Ben is a movie series on Amazon Prime, its a real thing with at least 8 movies under the name, all made by Nigal Bach who plays Tom Riley in his own house. Its truly a amazing look into this man's weird and funny love of cheap horror and I recommend everyone go watch it because he does it all independently with his family and friends. My favorites are the prequel movie and crescent moon clown!!! :)
Fun fact this is based on a series of real micro budget horror movies Corpsepile fell in love with, and the main character is voiced by the director, and often times main star, of that series
We really need more horror protags largely ignoring and/or getting mildly annoyed at spooky things, what a great mix of stuff going on 👏 Also I love that he sounds like Baldi trying to do an impression of Squidward

_True reason for buyer's remorse_ When you move into a new house, you really don't want occult remnants there from previous owners nor the previous owners themselves. This game was a nice mix of humor and horror. MBH's dry wit fit perfectly!

Hmm the general idea of a button to press while walking around in a game is always so entertaining i have no idea why. When i was a teenager playing KotoR 1 and 2 i pressed that damn swing lightsaber button constantly. Through dozens of playthroughs. Good memories lol.
Rule 1 in dealing with home invasions... don't just assume you're being burgled by someone much smaller and weaker then yourself. Assume they're bigger, well armed, and rapey.
If you haven't had the grace and blessing to watch these films, I highly suggest them, it's a satirical yet genuinely fear inducing experience, I will say it any time I see anyone playing these
"Someone cut the power and I hear noises upstairs? YOU BETTER GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU LITTLE SHIT!" That's not tank controls, Manly, Bobby Hill over here just has a set of tungsten coconuts down there.
I always find games with Resident Evil Camera movement's weird, like your camera is in a corner and it makes character movement a bit tricky but it makes great horrors.
