I feel that there are certain criticisms that are somewhat valid but entirely blown out of proportion. For instance, the one about Ichigo not getting access to abilities beyond Getsuga Tenshou/Jujishou and stat boosts is understandable... until you stop and realize Ichigo had very little opportunity to train new techniques. He was thrust from one battle to the next and any down time was used to just get on relative levels of combat experience as his opponents or dealing with the misunderstood aspects of his own soul. Ichigo flat out rejected almost every aspect of his hollow nature and his quincy nature was actively trying to suppress him the whole time. The only times Ichigo wasn't focused on something else was the brief period between Fullbring and TYBW after he had his powers back and between the final chapter and Hell Arc. I will say that if Ichigo doesn't have at least something new in Hell Arc, now that he's had time to understand himself and actually learn some shit, it will be disappointing. I can easily give it a pass up through TYBW just because it makes sense canonically (even if it would be cool to see Ichigo use and combine techniques from the various races) but I'm a bit harsher on the idea of Ichigo not having new powers if/when the series continues.
Ichigo was probably holding back against grimmjow(similar to his fight with gin in fake karakura town where he was afraid of his own power and couldn't properly use it) since orihime was afraid of him, and he was trying to actually have a fight against grimmjow instead of saving her. When Orihime tells him to stop getting hit, he stops holding back against grimmjow. The first bleach movie is most likely Canon because in tybw, ichigo has knowledge on the dimension the main villains reside in, and in a volume extra kubo says to watch the movie for more information.(I haven't read the novels so I don't know if ichigo ever goes to the valley of screms but if he doesn't then how would ichigo know unless he encountered it which he does in the first movie)
Not really related to the Mai topic of the video, but I would love for you to talk a bit about "My Monster Secret". I really love the Manga but not a lot of people talk about it on RU-vid.
Well the anime staff asks cannon stuff from kubo to incorporate into the plot of fillers and movies. Zanpakto rebellion is the only one who has a cannon battle and everything about the characters is cannon. Movie 1 is cannon, ichigo is the one who talks about the empty spaces aka he has been there. Regai arc is the only one you can consider cannon lf the filler stuff the novel talls about the main villian and his plan but he can just be a cannon charcter who was off screed by the gotei in the past.
For mha can you talk about how the dark hero arc is misunderstood. And the hate season 4 of my hero academia gets, and people calling uraraka a gold digger, and the slander the school festival gets. And people wanting deku to fight quickly from chapter 1
In the manga omakes Toshiro is watching Diamond Dust Rebellion in his barracks. Probably just ad for the movie disguised as a gag but the fact that most of the omakes are canon its would explain why the movies have weird inconsistencies. Also that Kubo brougth back byakuya because of death threats is still going strong. the other day there was a post on the bleach sub causing a internet nerd fight in the comments
What did you guys see my comments on old ass videos. Was like Hey, that annoying fuck who harkens any and everything back to bleach and comments 10x. Lets give some hope for TM...... I highly doubt that but fuck yesh i needed a new videos you guys are just fun, actually know the shit and are fucking funny.
For the MHA video, I have heard people unironically say "MHA side characters are bad because they're too WELL written" and "Horikoshi made a mistake making us care about them and get to know them". Also people like Oceaniz that thought MHA would be 700 chapters like Naruto and there'd be an "MHA Shippuuden" and would cover Deku's entire 3 years at U.A. with an entire arc for each member of Class A and the League of Villains. And I guess you could throw in some very ignorant power scaling takes that make no sense and overly underestimate the MHA 'verse, like people that say stuff like "Low level Demon Slayer characters like Inosuke or Shinobu would solo the entire MHA 'verse and would only have the tiniest bit of difficulty against Deku and All Might" (Yes, this was a real opinion someone had).
Well, it does go weird when final act is straight up goes faster than any previous acts by mile and straight up undermines some of themes set up prior, with ending being borderline nonsensical as it ignores any ambiguity about society that manga tried to do in the end. And I think side character thing gets big deal as manga does good idea of what they personalities are and then just makes them homogeneous mass whose story inclusion feels like poorly spend.
