What I've seen and experienced is 1st the X blade will tear up your PTO twice as fast due to the shock and the weight of the extra blades but the do work. It will mulch grass if you close the chute because the grass has no where to go. It will not mulch as good as when you have the mulch kit on there and I've seen that 1st hand. It will bog the machine down and you do have to cut slower. I think if I had a smaller yard like 1/2 acre instead of 3 I would mulch but I don't want to mow that much at half speed
I have the same setup on my 2018 Badboy Maverick. My problem is the amount of grass, dirt and debris that comes out of the deck and blows back on me. At the end of the job, I am covered with everything that comes out of the front. I was told by my dealer that the mulching baffles won't solve this issue.
My exmark don't mow as good with chute closed. No deck kit. I believe it mess with vacuum. Haven't tried with leaves. Old Kubota chute closed did well on leaves. I don't doubt it mulches grass but what's it look like compared to open. My opinion better looks open
It works really good with the mulch blades. Deffantly wasn't cheap. But also love that I can mow next to the drive shop and house and not worry about something flying out and hitting something it shouldn't.
You must be one of them naysayers that said didn't mulch! I only like the lady's sorry to disappoint you! Happly married, bought it myself love it solid silver! And yes it is almost as pretty as me 😆
It is just flex seal tape. I put it on because there is a gap in the the metal reinforcement and wanted to keep water from getting in there that would cause rust.
I have not have 2 sets of the high lift factory ones and 1 set of there mulching blades. Can deffantly cut faster with the high lift blades. But I usually don't get in a hurry. Just testing them both out!
@R&M M I have been using regular blades but got a set of mulching blades will try when the grass grows and will post a video of them and compare the 2.
