The Reggie scene is classic. Michael Bay found the kid who played Reggie on a local basketball court. He went to Martin and Will and told them to be extra rude to the kid if they bumped into him off set, so the kid was extra nervous. He also didn't mention Will having a gun in the scene, so Reggie's reaction to them was completely genuine. Bad Boys For Life is another great chapter.

My mom and I still quote the Reggie scene lol she knows that would be me as an uncle Edit: the actor who played Reggie nailed the awkward scared role so well because he was pretty scared. According to IMDB "When Dennis Greene, who played Reggie, showed up for shooting, he was told by Martin Lawrence's bouncer that he mustn't look into Lawrence's eyes or talk to him, and Lawrence himself was subsequently nasty to him. It was all a ploy arranged by Director Michael Bay who wanted the boy to be genuinely scared of Lawrence. Greene also wasn't told about the gun that he would be threatened with."

Bad Boys 1 was Michael Bay's first film, it had a very tight budget, the studios didn't know Michael, he was new to cinema, so they didn't take a risk with him, and they gave him a very modest budget, so he couldn't do big action scenes, but by 2003, the time of Bad Boys 2, he was already a successful director with big budgets, because he had already had several hits, and that's why he already had a big budget, because Bay it was a guarantee of success and the studios gave him what he asked for, that's why Bad Boys 2 looks very expensive, because it had all the budget he wanted.

The humor was utterly childish and corny. The character of Marcus Burnett, which was a serious one in the OG from 1995, was turned into a clown in this sequel. On the flipside of the coin the character of Mike Lowrey was way too dominant. My guess is that partially the reason for that was that the actor who plays Mike Lowrey - known to the masses as Will Smith - had become one of the most powerful men in Hollywood between the 1995 and this movie. Remember that Martin Lawrence and Tea Leoni had sort of stolen the show in original movie. That wasn't going to happen here - as a matter of fact Marcus Burnett is the butt of Mike Lowrey's jokes severel times throughout the movie.

Anyone that is like Martins character and has a partner like Will would definitely need to carry a gallon of Pepto with them. There was a tv series called “LA’s Finest” that is a spin-off of the “Bad Boys” franchise. It follows Sydney Burnett (Martin’s sister in the movie). Lots of people love that Reggie scene, which makes Roger Ebert's review of the movie especially hilarious: "There is an ugly scene in 'Bad Boys II' that I want to tell you about. A cop played by Martin Lawrence is alarmed that his 15-year-old daughter is going out on her first date. We see the girl, pretty and hopeful in her new dress, being fussed over by her mother. The doorbell rings, and Lawrence opens it to confront her date, a nervous 15-year-old boy, tall and thin, neatly dressed. Marcus and his partner (Will Smith) intimidate the boy without mercy. He is threatened with the unspeakable if he lays a hand on the girl. They demand to know if he is a virgin. They slap him with the N-word. At one point a gun is pulled on him. 'Ever had sex with a man?' Smith asks. Then with a leer: 'Want to?' The boy is terrified. The needless cruelty of this scene took me out of the movie and into the minds of its makers. What were they thinking? Have they so lost touch with human nature that they think audiences will like this scene? Do they think it's funny? Did the actors voice any objections? It's the job of the producer to keep a film on track; did Jerry Bruckheimer notice anything distasteful? Or is it possible that everyone connected with the film has become so desensitized by the relentless cynical aggression of movies like this that the scene passed without comment?" 28:45 is actually taken directly from Jackie Chan's Police Story (1985). Ebert was a fan of JC's, but was evidently unaware of the connection: "...What happens next is kind of sickening. The Hummer speeds down a hillside entirely covered by the tarpaper shanties of poor people. Walls and roofs, doors and windows, dogs and chickens, corrugated iron and curtains, all fly into the air as the Hummer cuts a swath through this settlement. And I'm thinking, people live there. There's a quick mention that drug production takes place on the hillside, but still: Dozens of poor shantytown dwellers must have been killed, not that the movie notices. There was once a time when a hero would sacrifice his own life rather than injure innocent bystanders. No longer. The heroes of 'Bad Boys II' are egotistical monsters, concerned only with their power, their one-liners, their weapons, their cars, their desires. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that characters who wipe out a village can also make cruel jokes at the expense of a kid on his first date. Everybody involved in this project needs to do some community service."

7:03 Will Smith is referring to all the people he killed at the airport in the climax of the first film. Like you said though, we could all do with that kind of therapy, LOL. Great film and great reaction. Thanks, guys...! 👍🏻

This is the best movie out of the series. It was amazing to watch this in the cinema when it was first released, the cars looked like they were coming right at you. Lol, the audience were dodging for the cars. Martin Lawrence is so funny. The 3rd movie is ok, but the 2nd movie will remain the best

It's funny that whenever we take pictures someone always says "Take the picture, Mike"

I've been waiting for this one. Such a great movie. The third one (Bad Boys for Life) is great, too. A much more personal story for Mike though. Context for Mike getting sent to therapy "after shooting all them people at the airport.": He's referring to the shootout in the hangar in the finale of the first movie. Probably. Unless shooting people at airports happens a lot as a narcotics cop.

Had to stop watching a podcast for this video. One of my favorite movies. Blew out a surround sound speaker during the Haitian chase/shootout and another during the mansion/compound assault. Totally worth it.

This is probably my favourite movie ever. Plenty of other awesome movies. But this perfectly does action and comedy. A bit cheesy sometimes but I think it’s on purpose. Hadn’t really thought about it before watching your reaction. But if someone said pick any movie to watch it would probably be this.

that silver Ferrari was handled on set by everyone involved in the chase with EXTREME CARE, they did takes under strict supervision, and Will Smith practiced several times before getting behind the wheel for his money shot. the car was delivered in pristine condition every time, UNTIL Martin Lawrence opened the door and bumped it against a post. yeah... that Ferrari was scratched, by Lawrence, doing absolutely nothing, after having gone through cinematographic hell. you can imagine the smoking he got for that.
