Bad Boys Movies Ranked 

Bad Boys 2 is number 1! I love them all but the second one had the funniest moments. Literally nothing can ever be funnier than "This is a nice fish", Reggie picking up the daughter, and "were gonna close this box and we gonna throw this bitch in the ocean".

The original Bad Boys is a 90s classic. It balances the action/comedy perfectly.

Bad Boys-Despite not having the memorable elements of its sequels, this is still an enjoyable kickoff to this franchise with solid chemistry between Smith and Lawrence, some well done Michael Bay action, and a good enough central plotline for the banter, action, and subplots to hang on 3. Bad Boys II-While the actual plot for this movie is paper thin, that doesn’t stop this one from being a good time for its nonstop, excessive Michael Bay action sequences and Mike and Marcus’ chemistry being as fun as ever 2. Bad Boys: Ride or Die-Even though not everything in this entry fully comes together, it’s still a really fun time with stylized and exciting action sequences, lots of funny comedic bits, a story with memorable elements, and the ever watchable pairing of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence 1. Bad Boys for Life-Because of its added emotion, more memorable story, continued chemistry between the two leads, new characters, and removal of the excess of the second film, this movie took the franchise to new heights and is safely my favorite of these movies

I will never not see a film by someone acting in a fictional movie because of a mistake someone made in their real life. Smh. I will support great content always and give respect and appreciation where it's due. I'm glad u saw it as well. We loved it. I'm glad his son was in it and to see Martin and Will chemistry and they have a great connection. I get what u get about the jokes.

Bad Boys 2 will always be number 1 for me. Nostalgic reasons take over a bit. There are so many action sequences that are very memorable. Also whenever there isn't action, you're getting some great commedic humor from Marcus and Mike.

1. Bad Boys For Life - Blends the best of the first two films, excellent chemistry between the two leads, strong action scenes, the comedy flows naturally and has a high stakes personal plot. Plus the younger supporting characters actually work well and don’t overshadow Smith and Lawrence. 2. Bad Boys - A wonderful little action thriller, the chemistry between pretty much all the characters is electric, great score, tight script, a wonderful mix of comedic writing and ad-libs and it still feels fresh and vibrant. 3. Bad Boys Ride or Die - A decent action film but the Marcus character feels all wrong, he comes across as stupid and incompetent, he feels more like Homer Simpson than Marcus Burnett. 4. Bad Boys II - It always felt like too much, the original is very tight whereas the sequel is overlong and overblown, the action sequences are excellent but the script is weak, the scenes don’t flow well and the pace is way off. It feels more like a Michael Bay movie than a Bad Boys movie.

My ranking, from least fav to fav. 4- bad boys ride or die 8,5/10(easily the worst but still a good movie, I thought some of the humor mostly around Marcus was way too much stupid, the film doesn’t have a very memorable villain despite he has some good presence as a threat, There’s a traitor that was EXTREMELY predictable as well as other predictable things around him, the movie doesn’t have as much action as the others but the action is very good and I LOVED the camera angles, right there with bad boys 2 style. I loved it. But I hope bad boys 5 (if it happens) will be better. 3- bad boys for life 10/10 ( in terms of story it certainly might be the best of the series) 2- bad boys 1 10/10 (the simplest but I enjoy the kind of atmosphere of this movie, very 90s in terms of soundtrack and style I love it) 1- bad boys 2 10/10( BY FAR the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over the top action from start to finish, great sequences, nice humor, I can watch it over and over and never get tired, it’s the definition of masterpiece) ❤ I love this franchise !!!

For me 2,4,3,1 The humor in 4 seemed on brand. The only thing that seemed more silly than normal was the jelly beans. Johnny Tapia was a very good villain. Marcus always has has some sort of internal/spiritual stuff going on. Wu-sa. And don’t forget in 2 he put in for a transfer to get away from Mike. That didn’t just materialize in 3. Bad boys 2 was my favourite It may be Nostalgia but it was funny and over the top but most of all a hell of a lot of fun. Bad boys for life was good and bought in the better story but I felt it lacked the action from 2. I hated the all the premonition stuff from Ride or Die but otherwise it kind of bought some of that action back. My biggest pet peeve tho is at the end of 3 they had Marcus wear glasses and be able to see better and then completely dropped it for 4. I liked some of the call back and characters in 4 tho and that Reggie scene. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Mike having a son in 3 either because when they don’t have story where do you go? You go back to something before they started. My ranking would be Bad boys 2 Bad boys Ride or Die Bad boys For life

My ranking Bad boys 2- one of my go to feel good movies Bad boys 4- love the character arcs Bad boys 3- only movie to have real stakes and loss Bad boys- fun but not my jam

HOT TAKE: I'm probably not a Bad Boys fan though I saw the first 3 in the cinema I won't be watching the 4th there. Here's my ranking which should explain why: 1. Bad Boys: One of the all tike great action films. I prefer this to Die Hard it is that good. I put it on a par with Die Hard with a Vengeance (my favourite of the Die Hard series). The set up and the way Marcus is pretending to be Mike just works brilliantly. The villain is solid, not up there with those 2 Die Hard films but still good. However the humour is perfect and the dynamic with the leads is incredible. 2. Bad Boys 2: Aggressively mid. Huge step down from 1 (similar to Die Hard 2, the weakest of the FOUR Die Hard films. They definitely only made 4), losing the set up that was so brilliant in the first film and playing into the worst tendencies of Bay. Not a terrible film by any means but just forgettable. 3. Bad Boys for Life: Embarassing. Again not a terrible film but it felt embarassing to watch. Grown men thinking they are kids doesn't help. The fact that Will Smith looks like Will Smith where Lawrence looks like a man in his 50s again hurts the film. Lawrence almost looks more like he's Will's dad than his contemporary. I saw this at the cinema I don't think I've rewatched it since. From the looks of it number 4 is more of the same but worse which is why I don't want to watch that. So yeah hopefully you can see why I don't really feel comfortable being called a Bad Boys fan as I think the first 1 is amongst the greatest movies of all time but I don't really enjoy any of the sequels. I do wonder if I am a lone voice in this. But I am glad others can enjoy the sequels more than me* * unless you enjoy Die Hard 5 then fuck you 😜 (I joke you can like what you like)

The tone of the movie is a little bit funnier than the previous one but it didn’t make me chuckle. I think they made Marcus a little too goofy. The first Bad Boys was a movie from my 8th grade year. I remember it came out in April of 1995. This was Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teaming up at their peak of their powers as both had two of the funniest sitcoms during the 90s. This was a year before Will Smith would start becoming summer box office gold with Independence Day (1996). Then another hit with Men in Black (1997). My male classmates talked about it back in 1995 as we still had another two months to go for our 8th grade graduation. I went to a Catholic school in Glendale, CA. I remember the soundtrack. TBH, I didn’t think the first Bad Boys was that good even when I first saw it back in April 1995. The tone was a little over the place. I thought Rush Hour 2 (2001) achieved the comedy that Bad Boys tried to convey. I thought Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) was a lot funnier too. You should check out stills from the original Bad Boys in 1995. Man, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were so skinny back then! Will was still in his mid-20s when he filmed it and didn’t start getting buff until the next decade like after he did Ali (2001). Around when he did I Am Legend (2007). While Martin Lawrence obviously got the weight gain like he’s Allen Iverson. He looks chubbier now than when Chris Tucker was in Rush Hour 3 (2007). And Chris Tucker was a twig in Friday (1995). I’m listing Bad Boys II at No. 2 but I actually don’t recall seeing the entire thing. I think I first saw it only 4-5 years ago with my brother when it was on Netflix. I saw most of it and I found it a lot funnier than the OG. That’s the tone I prefer because Martin Lawrence being a stand-up comic is naturally funnier than Will Smith. Gabrielle Union was such a babe in it. Bad Boys for Life still takes the cake as the best of the franchise. There was an emotional twist to it that I liked. It’s a shame it came out in early 2020 basically a month before the pandemic global shutdown. Similar to The Invisible Man which I thoroughly enjoyed, many of the 2020 movie releases became an afterthought. Sean Chandler talks about a scene in the middle of Bad Boys 4 that I also found rather cool. It didn’t wow me but it was cool. I only started watching Heels late last year around Nov, so it was cool to see “Ace” in it while he’s hooking up with Vanessa Hudgens’ character. I wasn’t aware Ludwig was in the prior Bad Boys movie since I didn’t know him until I started watching Heels. I would still put Bad Boys: Ride or Die for a top 5 spot among best summer movies of 2024. But I’m not going to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty solid. No LOL moments for me. The action set pieces could’ve been a little more epic. It felt like this movie is the direct to Netflix type but I guess that ended up being Beverly Hills Cop 4.

The second film may be technically better, but the story is far too frantic and not as compelling. The action is awesome though. The first film is a better personal story and I crack up at the lifestyle switching. Lol The new era of films are just awesome. I love the Reggie scene in the 4th film. Lol and “For Life” is the best personal story. These “Bad Boys” are better when the stories are mature.

Bad Boys 2 is as Un-PC as it's gets, but it is one of the best action movies ever created in the history of film.
