This hand built metal working station is a simplified solution that could build you any car in the world. We would like to partner with ‪@BaileighIndustrial‬ to manufacture this metal working station. Let's ask our loyal followers, would you use something like this if it was available to you?

Over the years I've made my own jack stands, engine stands and even a press brake because I couldn't afford to buy one. I get it about Chad's outlook on fabrication. He's got my respect as a skilled craftsman.

Chad you make an excellent point, far more people rely on the cheaper tools to get the job done. If everyone had to use Snap-On tools there wouldn't be a car hobby, that's why Harbor Freight is so popular.

Hands and brain! Everything else is a bonus. I have been slowly acquiring tools, not going to list them but i like the ones i build more. I started with a piece of railroad track in a vise, and continously think about what i can build. Metal has a mind of its own, and fooling it to do what you want is the skill. You pass through winnipeg, i’d make the drive just to shake your hand! Post Covid of course! Stay Well!!

Most compact & best hand built station I ever seen. Who needs all the expensive kit on the market . I’ve used wood bricks slabs whatever was to hand over the years to shape repair panels it’s quicker & more fun . Built not brought 👍 keep up the great work chad & fam.

Chad I understand what you are saying about tools. I would like to have some of those kinds of tools you talk about but like you say, then you need the space. If I have a shop that is big enough to hold what I would like to have, then, I would not have enough room for the project. Like you have said many times you make do with what you have. And what you have there is all a person needs. From what I've seen you can do a lot with that tool. Thanks for the show.I hope you are starting to get the credit you deserve.Ronnie.

I've used good tools and cheap tools. Cheap tools are the path to getting the job done. Good tools are more capable and provide more possibilities. I'll take good over cheap anytime. Few were expensive. My larger tools break down for storage. I spend more time moving them around, but it's worth it to me.

There's alot to be said about "Hand Crafted Proven Tools" for sure! Been there done that. But sometimes it's a nice change of pace to try something new. If their giving them at "No Charge" and a little air time. I'd take any and everything they offer. With the agreement that you may offer them as a Prize at one of your car show events. Raffle them off for chariety of your choice! Just a creative idea as are your creations. Best Wishes to everyone at the shop.

Well said Chad, the guy with a wife and 3 kids, with the average paying jo cant afford to go out and spend $20K on tools, I sometimes watch a young guy named Karl building his 1937 Lincoln Zephyr, which is great for him, but I know there aint to many guys that can afford it., he is great with metal, does a lot of class videos for how to do stuff, but in his workshop he has just about every tool and machine know to man.

Brilliant summary and I've gone back to the starting videos after seeing the finished product - and these early videos are brilliant. I've always wondered how a total new build was done. I can see from your first Bugatti videos, and this video on tools, how any car and any shape can be fabricated now. Thanks - this is fantastic. A question on the choice of metals. You use steel; why is it preferable over lighter aluminum? I gather that it's easier to shape? Cheaper? Will you mix steel and aluminum - I know the original car was created in magnesium but that's madness. Also, this Bugatti that you are building would be called a prototype today. It had no heater, no ventilation of any kind, no wiper blades, the windows didn't roll down, and the door would pull the rivots off the door hinges if you let go of the door. Will you improve the design and give it creature comforts? A/C, heat, working doors and windows, etc?

Totally, Totally agree. Big tools and equipment means big loans or cash out of pocket. and when bad times come your hooped. If your doing custom work I do not think it makes any sense to get your self into debt with the expectation of doing more work. Nothing wrong with appropriate debt but keep the process simple and spread the art form
