Even though i dont have a mercedes, i have a diesel car, and i learnt alot from you kent, i do everything myself from the knowledge i gathered from you. I just wanted to say thank you
Hi mate, Love your channel. Ive a question out of sheer curiosity. I tested my mechanical direct fuel injectors on a similar stand. No1 was leaking and would dribble at 1500psi. No6 was spraying well at 2500psi (same for 2,3,4,5). I swapped nozzles on No1 and No6...the problem didn't reappear, now both open at 2500psi. I swapped nozzles again, problem showed on No1. Anyway, will put the injectors in with 1 and 6 swapped, but I don't like not knowing. No nearby diesel shop either and a set of injectors for a 1989 diesel landcruiser is like 2000 bucks.... hence why I'm plaguing with it. Regards from South Australia. Cam
It takes 11 hours for an experienced mechanic to remove and replace the Injectors in my LB7 Duramax. This WAS very interesting to see what a malfunctioning Injector looks like.
I have the Ford Duratorq 2.2 turbodiesel in a Mondeo that is approching 20 years old. Such a great engine apart from some white smoke on start up from cold. It runs rough for a couple of minutes until I assume the injectors get warm and it runs perfectly. I know I am going to need to deal with this issue if I want to keep the car going. Sadly our government here in the UK is bent on disincentivising us from keeping old diesel cars via punative taxation, a situation I can see only getting worse over the next 10 years due to their commitment to the 'net zero' agenda/scam. Such a shame as it is a brilliant car.
I have a questions my engine is very loud l can't even pass 70km per hour because the rvs will be very high you will think the engine will blow can you tell me what's the problem and sometimes it loses power it also have a knocking sound
New owner of a 1984 300sd, idles poorly, smokes alot and misses at idle, I have new nozzles, glow plugs, thermostat, fuel return hoses, filters on the way, in the meantime I feel like I should try to clean the injection pump before the injectors are rebuilt. I did the vegetable oil flush the other day, did 3/4 gallon. Drove it 30 minutes home from the shop I work at and it smokes less but still a little too much and engine still shakes and has low power. I turned the alda almost all the way out just so it'll move out of its own way.. help please
Had friends that had dump trucks with Cummings back in the 1960's that were using ATF in their fuel. Later in the century bought a GM 6.2L van and also used ATF to keep injectors clean and at very little cost.
That's a bad ass pop tester! You always have the best videos on diesel stuff that translates to my VW world. I followed the link to your site and would like to know if I can use this to test my 03 mk4 jetta tdi injectors?
@@Mercedessource right on. I mean It's a bosch pump. I'll have to check into it further as far as the thread sizes etc. I'd be willing to buy one of yours for sure.
